Very different experience than last time almost 2 years ago. Absolutely quintessential Cabernet aromatics here today with cassis, blackberries and beautiful, floral freshness. Lovely medium-bodied palate with black fruits, herbs and iron / blood. Really fine tannins here. Lingering, elegant finish. Delicious and even more impressive considering the vintage. Drinking beautifully at the moment after 1 hour in the decanter. 17/20

Drinking really well right now. Dense red with a pale rim. Cassis, cherry, raspberry, lilac, potting soil, herbs de provence, pyrizines, cigar box, mocha, and vanilla. Med+ tannin, med+ acidity, med+ alcohol. Very well balance, med+ complexity, longish finish. Elegant, well balance wine a relatively subtle hand for a new world wine.

Totally closed upon opening, needed a good hour in the decanter to slowly open up. Very spicy with some nice black fruit and high acidity; clearly old world in style. I think I would have guessed northern Rhone Syrah if tasted blind. Very high tannin quality resulting in a beautifully sensual, supple mouthfeel while still maintaining a nice bite. The mid palate lacks a bit pressure. But I really love the style here. 16/20

Surprisingly well crafted given the travails of 2011. Lots of dark fruit with hints of oak and green on the nose. Showed depth and good balance, dark red and black fruit, medium tannic backbone and a lush mouthfeel. Long layered finish.

W flank steak from grill. Helena and Paolo visiting. This was very good, balanced. Good fruit, good length and medium bodied. I keep saying that we like washington cabs better for their subtlety. Yummy good, with a strong finish.

2011 Washington Wines: Informal tasting with friends of four Washington wines from the challenging 2011 vintage.
Medium ruby – green bell pepper, cherry, grass. Medium acid, medium tannins, 13.9% ABV, medium body, medium finish. We liked this wine better than Gramercy's Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Beautiful ruby color. Cherry and dusty spice. Tannins mostly in balance but I’d say slightly to the tannic. Wish I could get more. This was a random selection from Gramercy’s recent ‘ready to drink’ special; you didn’t know what you’d get.
Unfiltered apparently, quite a bit of sediment collected in the neck. I had it stored horizontally for a few weeks.
Great with flatiron steak.

Featuring muddled cherry and blackberry, cocoa, cinnamon, Kalamata tapenade, this is decidedly cabernet sauvignon on the nose. The palate is medium in weight, a bit thinned out by the cold and wet vintage. The acid is bright, and though decently balanced by the broad, dusty and chocolatey tannin, it remains a little sharp on the edges. The flavors hedge savory, and it's olive brine, weathered leather and rose water that drive the profile. They are supported by slightly bitter cherry, huckleberry and allspice. A good wine from a bad vintage, it's drinking well right now structurally.

Not as good as other gramercy cabs I've drunk albeit with more age. Still pleasant - and a fine pairing with new york cuts, flash-charred on the grill.

Clear, dense garnet color, throwing sediment. Primary/secondary aromas with pleasing greenness- redcurrant, anise, rosemary, bell pepper, leather, menthol and lavender. Open redcurrant and cherry fruit on the palate with secondary cedar, tobacco, clove and leather. Medium-bodied with elegant texture. Bright throughout with round polished tannins. Easy finish with juicy lingering depth. Very nice- old-school in style. Shows the coolness of the vintage well. In its drinking window.

Love the craftsmanship of this winery. Partial to their syrahs, but wasn't expecting much from this Cab. The 2011 was a substandard year, but this wine is drinking nicely with the smoke, earth and stone that's vintage WA. Fun fruit and herb accents as the wine settles on the palate too, and it finishes like a champ. I recommend.

Very nice wine. Interestingly, it went well with steelhead, rich in oils, and baked in a white wine, lemon and garlic sauce. Opened 3 hours before serving.

By day 3, this wine was incredible. Obviously has quite a bit more time to go but nice balance of fruit and earth. Worth the wait for more time before I open the next.

Walla Walla tastings: Classic notes of black currant, tobacco, roasted coffee, pepper and cedar. Juicy black fruit on the palate with the aforementioned savory depth. Smooth and rich texture. Fleshy tannin. Full finish. Excellent.

Cool-weather Bordeaux style wine. Plenty of structure and poise. Nose was fileld with black berries and a hint of spice. This was a well-done wine and I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again. I don't think I gave this wine the decant it needed though, will decant 2hrs+ next time.

Gave this two hours of air before serving with Filets for Christmas dinner. The nose was a little shy at first, but opened up to a cassis & black pepper carnival. This was a full bodied Cab, but one that expressed subtlety & complexity. It enters with a strong, brooding black fruited character, but quickly yields on the generous mid palate to mocha dusted cherry & some savory/herbal character. The air made the tannic structure more approachable, but that structure is a huge part of this wine's character. Each bite of the steak brought out more and more.
Washington's 2011 vintage is one to really consider. Producers like Gramercy excel in all vintages, but this one is particularly special. Buy this wine.

Notes from day 2. Dark red to purple in color. Nose of black plum, hints of cassis, green pepper skin, cedar. Palate of black cherry, coffee, green herbs, baker's chocolate, tannin. The finish was above average in length with really nice acidity. Overall the wine was really great, especially the nose on the second day and with structure. Hold: 50+5+13+17+8 4

I liked it and Christy loved it.
Blackberry, cocoa, and nutmeg. Soft chalky tannin still present with a good amount of fruit still left.
Wine was put in a decanter and consumed over three or four hours. It never faded or lost it's appeal. Thrilled to have four more of these.
