Like but don't love it. Black raspberry aromas with a mildly herbal undercurrent. High acidity on the attack with middle weight and low tannins. Smartly made--the style (low extraction, low tannin) matches the fruit. On the other hand, while I love Loire CF, this seems to be striving for a style that SYV is not ideal to emulate. A trade of lower acidity for a hare higher ABV would have been a plus, and I suspect the harvest was intentionally on the early end.

Blueberry, plum, black tea, damp earth. A rather sprightly wine, with texture very well described below as, "a touch of creaminess and bright carbonic fruit."

definitely a serviceable and enjoyable wine. a little tight and grippy which is a nice change of pace for So Cal. would be curious what 3 more years would do; whether the fruit would fade or it would be better-?

This is a fantastic Cabernet Franc. Would happily buy again for under $30. Quite ripe-fruited for the 12.7% abv, and definitely improved over a few days. No more detailed notes as we drank it a few weeks ago.

Though I would say that it shows some varietal character, this was an odd style with a touch of creaminess and bright carbonic fruit to it. I had mixed feelings about it and it wouldn't be something I'd come back to unless there were a specific food pairing I thought of. A good wine, but not my style really.

I really don't know where dbp is coming from, as there's plenty of varietal character and character generally here, but I will say that as much as I love this wine, I don't think it's as complete as the others in the Lieu Dit range and I'm not sure why it costs so much more than them.

Carbonic maceration... which I'm certainly prejudiced against as I never like them. This one either. Aromas are generic, carbonic macerated wine. Candied soft fruit and nothing else. Creamy flavors on the palate showing moderate intensity. Again, generic carbonic wine. Puckering tartness on the finish. Not much character. No varietal character.

Lighter than expected, drinks similar to Pinot Noir.
