More savoury than fruity with some earthiness and solid acidity on the palate. I don't have a lot of experience 'aged' Tempier Rose, but this was quite good and likely comes down to if you like these wines younger (more freshness, fruit and vibrancy) or older (earthy, savoury and less fruit)...no wrong answer.

Solid rosé. Still red fruited but with more nuanced minerality. Wet stones all throughout. Love the subtlety and elegance. It can hold for a couple of years more. Very good bottle.

Last bottle of this vintage. Held its own against cedar plank Copper River Salmon off the grill. Has evolved to creamy strawberries and a sorbet-like texture - thicker viscosity and heavier weight - with nuanced notes of garrigue, salt, cherries, raspberries, and lemon curd. Probably in its prime drinking window, so drink now. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.

The fruit is fading, the herbs are popping, the acid is going and the weight is coming. At four years old, this is mellow enough to please any palate. Given the diminishing acid and fruit, I think it's time to drink up. Sip chilled on a warm afternoon with some cheese and charcuterie. Santé!

This is an excellent wine. 3 years from release and it has nicely softened. The savory flavors have mellowed; the acid less prominent. The wine now shows a nice balance of herbs, strawberries, earthiness and flowers. Excellent. Time to enjoy this one as I sense that more time will add nothing more to this star of Bandol.

Paired with chicken fajitas and a Mexican food feast on Cinco de Mayo. More evolved but with more elusive complexity than our last tasting a year ago. The palate has migrated to a creamier texture with more weight. The high-toned citrus notes have been replaced by flavors of watermelon, tangerines, strawberries, and orange sherbert. Drink before 2022. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 93.

Bought this bottle because at about the time I did so I'd had a glass of the 2014 Terrebrune at Zuni that really impressed. This Tempier is every bit as good as my memory of that Terrebrune. (Must've been a "bad" vintage in Bandol, because that's the only kind I seem to like, with toned-down ripeness and alcohol levels.) Can fruit be simultaneously voluptuous and demure? That's how I'm finding this. Finesse and perfect balance. Most excellent.

A private lunch (Restaurant Librije's Zusje **, Amsterdam, NL): Pale salmon colour; lovely nose, strawberry and green melon, spicy minerality, hay, whiff of reduction, good depth; well-structured palate, fresh and vibrant, medium weight, quite firm in style with noticeable bitters, really dry but there is some sève; complete finish, again slightly reductive, good length. Needs another 12-24 months.

Still killer with another year. No signs of fading at all. The nose is filled with ripe cantaloupe, watermelon, strawberry, hints of orange peel and lemon, herbs, and a lovely saline note. The palate still has lots of freshness and energy with great concentration and mouthwatering salinity. I keep trying to find a better rose, but this remains the reference point for me.

Disappointing compared to every previous bottle of this rose (including the 375 ml drunk 3 months ago). No detectable faults. This was flat and without much flavor. Color was the same as my (unopened and untasted) 2015's. Hopefully this is (bad) bottle variation and not a harbinger of the upcoming bottles. Disappointing.

Such a graceful wine. Delicate aromas of soil, berries, twigs, stones, etc. All become more expressive with the following glass. The flavors, too, which largely mirror the nose, are delicate at first, but also continue to add depth and stony, fruity layers. Classy stuff, with structure to boot. recommended
At Shaw's Crab house with the Saturday brunch; PnP, served non-blind.

Drinking on a Saturday night with sautéed summer vegetables and chicken sausage. Minimal nose. I always want more from a rose but never quite get it. Still pleasant light citrus. Consistently the best rose out there. Same as prior notes. Good bottle. Chilled and allowed to warm up slightly in glass. Price is really the only issue as lots of options open up at the $30-35 range. But if u are looking for a rose. This is as good as it gets.

This is the best rose I have tasted...period. Salmon color, fresh, lively with notes of strawberries and watermelon. But what makes this rose so special is its full mouth feel, almost like drinking a rich white burgundy. Hard to believe, but the finish has an unctuous taste to it as the fruit lingers on. Worth every penny!

Watermelon, chalk, minerals and fruit pit. In addition to that complexity, a wonderful weightiness and round mouthfeel that you just don't find in any other rosé. Every time I think that this is no longer worth the $40 that it commands, opening a bottle makes me think otherwise. One bottle left and will be difficult for it to make it to summer 2017.

Salmon pink. Strawberry and melon aromas. Medium, nice glycerine layer, a lick of grapefruit acidity at the end, and a long, earthy finish. What's not to like about this on a freakish 94 degree end of summer day??? Perfectly dry and almost as refreshing as water has been today.

This is a stunning disappointment. Where is the fresh, vivid flavor? Where is the fruit? Where is the strawberry? And where oh where are the mineral and anise? The wine is tight, austere, offering little of pleasure. “11-14% alc.” Food pairing is forgotten. 09. 0.15. Recommended.

As usual, can't stop ploughing through these, especially on one of our rare as hen's teeth 90 degree days in San Francisco. This is doing really well, with noticeable softening even compared to when it landed a few months ago, dazzling texture, and tonight, a touch of pepperiness which I hadn't discerned before. Gold standard rosé.

A quite lovely rosé combining elegance and power with the type of more intense, yet salmon pale pink colour. The nose reveals minerals, heather, lemon and lime zest combined with subtle tangerine. The nose adds structure and integration to the overall experience. A very nice rosé well worth tasting if given the chance.

Dig SF Kermit Lynch Tasting (San Francisco): Notes very similar to before. Seashell and floral nose. Palate shows similar notes with some skunky and pithy bitter persistence with polish. From a bottle opened 24 hours ago. Now, more melon rind and glycerine feel. Still sturdy core of tannin and grapefruit acidity. Overall, a slightly softer impression than you get right out of the bottle. There seems to be a lot of speculation about whether this will age. Based upon this showing, I'd say fear not.

This is much better than the 2013 and probably the best since 2011 IMO. Complex, with watermelon, mineral, wild strawberry, and some peach/stone fruit. Really great stuff, and a bit fuller and less acidic than last year's version. A very good Tempier rosé indeed!

Time to linger over a full bottle tonight after a 2 hour decant. So much going on here compared to your grandfather's rose. Medium weight with less of a glyceral feel than Tempier rose usually possesses. Black fruit, a real sense of grapefruit, spice, and as before, significant tannin to finish. I hope we bought enough of this to savor it over the next 5 years-never mind, we didn't.

Arguably one of the finest Rosès in the world, the '14 does not disappoint. Key lime pie, watermelon, an enormous amount of mineral and pomegranate. Sumptuous and such a fine bead of acidity. A light touch of anise during the medianly long finish. Enjoy her this summer, however, this is a Rosè that can age. Drink now - 2023. #Realmendrinkrosè

Underripe melon, floral, crushed seashell, with savory notes leading to herbs de Provence. Medium bodied but light on its feet with plus acid. Really it was a little tight for a Tempier. Guessing it will open more in the coming months and years. 91+

Light pink. Powerful anise aromatics. Whereas the 2013 was quite glycerine and welcoming, this is dry, tannic, and more backward. Just a vague hint of melon rind and trong licorice tones carry through to the end. Definitely the sort of rose that could easily take the place of red wine in many settings. I would not rush to drink through my stock of this since I think it will improve with several years in bottle.

Outstanding Rose quality. Most serious. Yes this feels like it could age a few more years without any problems.

Very pale salmon pink.
Restrained red fruit nose, with a touch of earthiness.
Good palate: pretty full, and with a very good structure. There's a touch of tannins on the finish. Very long after. Very nicely balanced.

Beautiful in the glass, light golden peach color. Bright acid, lovely citrus, I can imagine tangerines. Really a pleasure to drink.

Consistently the best rose out there. Same as prior notes. Good bottle. Chilled and allowed to warm up slightly in glass.
Price is really the only issue as lots of options open up at the $30-35 range. But if u are looking for a rose. This is as good as it gets.

Marianne's note.
The best rose I have ever had.
Crisp mineral on the nose. Sparkles on the palate with floral + citrus notes, as well as some stonefruit. Nice acidic balance and long finish w/slight hint of spice.

My first 2014 and my first aged bottle of Tempier rosè. In a great place. Soaring aromatics and layers of strawberry and watermelon on the palate. Mouth paying with awesome mouthfeel. Really long finish.
Will definitely age my final bottle even longer.

Belle robe saumon clair.

As usual, can't stop ploughing through these, especially on one of our rare as hen's teeth 90 degree days in San Francisco.

Overall this is a reticent and structured Tempier rose and could use at least another 6 mo if not a year to come around 91+
