Lovely mature wine, this bottle might be just past peak. Little acidity left and mostly forest floor earthiness with a bit of sweet overtones. I’d say drink up.

Pnp. Dark cranberry body looking great in glass. Nose is potent: of pencil shavings, blackberry, mocha, breeze from a lavender field. Very bordeaux-esque, leaning left bank. Texture is glorious and unique, just short of viscous but not feeling oily in anyway. It is rich but earthy, which belies the palate flavors: cranberry and cassis, yes but also earth root, dust, dry chili, wet bark, and forest floor (in a smooth, fecund way). Long, dry, and complex finish.
This is a great wine. I literally can picture Chilean landscape when I take a sip and close my eyes. Nice vintage too. Not young or old, just in its prime. Drink now or hold 3 more years.

I'm starting to lose objectivity on Clos Apalta. I haven't had one that I didn't enjoy on a gut level. This one's more "rural" than the others I've tried. Inky black fruit is a constant, but I also get coffee, corn, mustard (?), and fresh dirt on the nose. The palate is slick, tart, and shedding tannins, and it shows more black fruit and some chocolate. The mid-length finish seems to bring the coffee back. It's ready to drink now, but I can see it holding steady for another eight or ten years. (The outer window of 2026 seems too early.)

Drank this at Royal Pavilion last night for an Year End celebration.
Dark purple in colour with notes of cherries and berries with some hints of figs and dried herbs. Polish, rounded and smooth finish. Made up of 71% Carmenère, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot, this resembles a right bank Bordeaux on a cooler (and lesser) vintage.
Although it paled in comparison against another younger Chilean wine from another producer, this is nevertheless, a good wine. Well structured with a good finish.

Massive and concentrated, with sweet tobacco, some blue fruit, plum reduction. Some mild spice on the back end. Long, and not too hot at 14.2%. Just outstanding execution of 100% carmanere
Wow, nice wine, Bordeaux like characteristics , nice vanilla oak on the nose and palate, deep dark fruit cassis fruit , very integrated, in balance. Still young, had out of Coravin and then let it set in the glass for 35 minutes.

This is an excellent wine that can be drunk now or aged longer. Plum, blackberry, and classic cabernet (or is it carménère?) herbaceousness. Topped with oaky mocha and vanilla. Full of energy and complexity. A big, chocolatey, merlot-like texture. The best South American wine I've ever had, by far. Totally reminds me of Bordeaux.

Megamoon Part IV: Chile; 10/30/2015-10/31/2015 (Tasting in Santiago and visit to Colchagua Valley): The flagship wine of the Casa Lapostolle project we were lucky enough to try a taste of this at lunch and then as part of the official tour. I did not take detailed notes, but overall this was the wine with quite a lot of promise, but not completely there yet. Will need the age to pull itself together (spent 2 years in new French oak and then two years in bottle before release).

New York Wine Experience - lots of tastings...shorter notes...: Nice to revisit this wine...rich red fruit, raspberry jam. Mid palate is rich darker fruits, savory notes, mocha and cream. Elegant wine..."feminine" in texture...will improve with some time in the cellar

Great nose, plums, very smooth tannins, even at this young age, blackberries, some oak but balanced, some acidity. Merlot, Carmenere, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot. [had at Grand Marnier dinner (they own the winery)]

Dark color, nose of dark fruits, floral, graphite. Great bouquet, would likely continue to improve with air time. Dark fruit profile on the palate: plums, black fruits, blueberry. Elegant, feminine wine. Will improve with cellar time.

Popped and poured and this wine is just entering its prime drinking window IMO.
Quite dark in color, solid nose of black fruit, sweet cherry, leather and a herbal hint.
The palate is very smooth but mouth coating and round. Medium+ in body with flavors of black currant, plum with oak and allspice.
Lovely wine!

Blueberry and plum notes, with a soft, rich feel on the palate, making for a reasonable match for the Cantonese dishes. Long finish.

Out on 5th Ave in Naples, served at room temperature. We enjoyed the wine, but room temperature didn’t help.
