PnP- Zalto Burgundy glass Aromatically intense!! Olive tapenade, iron rich bloody notes, baked blackberries, leather and spice.
An hour later- more of the same on the nose with the tiniest hint of smoke. Palate entry is super smooth, leading effortlessly to all the promises the nose has been making since the bottle opened.
Perfectly composed at this stage of development. Soft and smooth entry leads to a full mid palate and a long finish with fully integrated tannins.
The beautiful dark fruits are framed with all of the olive, iron, smoky herbal and spice notes.
Fantastic Syrah that is currently sitting right in the middle of a great drinking window. Drink and hold.

The Wine was deep and almost blood red in its appearance. The wine bouquet was bursting with ripe blueberries, blackberries and plums, as well as violets, freshly smoked bacon, springy black olives, sweet tobacco, graphite, forest floor and white pepper. In the mouth it was dense, with soft tannins, and kept alive by a balanced acid level. Here, the wine surprised with a less mature taste profile, which in my optics suggests that there is still cellar potential in the wine.

Beautiful and elegant Syrah with everything you'd want from a cool climate expression - olive brine, herbs, and meat on the nose with a dense, focused core of red fruit. The texture is soft and silky with a touch of tannic grip to balance the striking lifted acidity - just glides over the palate into a long, earthy, peppery finish. I think this is in a great place to drink now, but I wouldn't say no to revisiting it in a couple of years.

An epic Syrah. So detailed and multifaceted and a dead ringer for Côte-Rotie. It shows tremendous breadth, depth, and complexity to aromas that are both vexingly familiar and unfamiliar. Spices, violets, bacon fat, braised meat, and port reduction sauce soar and expand atop pungent earth, soil, and feral undertones. The palate is sleek, luminous, structured, and layered with vibrant spices that are strikingly pure yet perfectly complement a core of vivid, red fruit and radiant acidity. Finishes sapid, long, and with such a beautiful expression of place.

This has an incredible bouquet. Spice, dark cherry, cola...like an overly concentrated Pinot. Palette brings freshness and elegance, medium concentration with a long length. Lovely!

Beautiful; a dead ringer for Cote-Rotie. Halfway between finesse and sauvage, bacon fat, lavender, orange zest, dusty cherry with boysenberry playing a supporting role, grippy but not drying tannins, all welded to a steel backbone of sour cherry acidity.

Easter Weekend Wines; 4/15/2017-4/16/2017: A very young wine, but a gorgeous one. Dark ruby color. Deep, pure, intriguing aromas of black cherry and currant laced with braised port, beef broth, black pepper and charcoal. Medium+ bodied with sturdy (but not too harsh) tannins and moderate+ acidity, which keeps it fresh. Gushing but nuanced dark fruit (black cherries, dark plums, black currant). So many complex elements of barbecue sauce, charred meat, black pepper, charcoal pit, some sweet violets. Dark and saucy but fresh and complex. This will excel for five to ten years, easily, but this was cool to taste young. God I love Radio-Coteau.

Tannins have softened. Leather and plum on the nose, good peppery primary flavors. Black currant finish
