A rich red Pinot showing ruby color with clarity. Supple nose with Cherry, flint, vanilla. Lots of rich fruit - raspberry currant and pomegranate, and well rounded mineral earthy notes and a clean crisp finish. My guess is it’s good for another 1-2 years. Nice!

Very intense deep ruby. A bit reserved on the nose but there were some apparent aromas of dark fruit, blackberry juice, and a hint of vanilla. Medium to medium plus body (bold for a pinot) with luscious sweet ripe red and blue fruit on the front along with some cola. Good acidity to tame the fruit, but a bit of heat on the finish -- too much so for my wife who is very sensitive to these things. Paired with grilled kurobuta pork chops and mashed sweet potatoes; was fine but did not seem to bring anything extra to the meal.

It has been over a year and a half since I last tried a bottle and I did note some subtle changes. The nose was all fruit. The palate was dark cherry, red currants, and nutmeg. The finish was moderate. It could have been that we drank it alongside a 2011 Saxum James Berry and that stole the show for the evening.

"This is a pinot that i want to buy a lot of!!! Drank using my new coravin which means I will get to enjoy it over the next few weeks!!! On the nose I get cherry, clove, cinnamon, a little leather & tar and some berry fruits. On the palate there is good acidity more darker fruits at first but a lovely berry finish. It's a cracker!!"

I’m not a Pinot Noir lover, but this particular bottle was quite tasty. Cherry fruit galore, raspberries and even blueberries on the palate with floral aromas. Surprisingly smooth with a nice finish.

Had not tried a bottle in 2 years but the results are the same. Opened and drank over 3 hours. Red fruit on the nose, the palate is raspberry, strawberry, red currants which bring on the sweet spices that come out in the moderate to long finish. A really nice pinot noir.

Well made cork pulled well. Stained magenta. The nose was subdued and the fruit was muted. That changed over the next few hours, leading into the next two days. This wine benefits tremendously from being allowed to breathe. Predominant flavor is cherry. Why this wine doesn't appear in the annual best of reviews from the big publication I don't know, but I've always enjoyed it quite a bit. It is a nice contrast to the other good pinots such as Kosta Browne, Sea Smoke, Dumol, Calera, and Roar. Based on how slow it was to emerge, and how much fruit appeared when it was allowed to breathe, I agree with the top end of 2021 that CT has. Recommended as a reliable purchase of a solid pinot.

Excellent wine with expressive cherry and strawberry fruit notes. Unusually long, mildly spicy finish, particularly for a Pinot noir. Smooth and great fun to drink.

Excellent appellation level pinot. Rich ruby color (although the stain on the cork was extremely faint) gives notice to aromas of cherry, baking spice, and earthy notes. Drank over 2 hours, and each sip improved. Long smooth finish; the tannins provide support but a soft and elegant. An excellent wine.

Part of a blind Sonoma Pinot tasting. All the wines were p'np, and bagged for blind tasting. The surprise of the evening. Surpassed the Martinelli and Kistler Pinots that we had alongside it.

Ive had this wine a few times and last time I drank it on opening and this time I let it breath for 5 hours. A long time. Maybe an hour or two too long but certainly better than not letting it breath at all.
The cola is there but the chlorine and saline are muted versions of themselves and whilst not harmoious with the cola, they represent a continuum of waves, a concentric part of an overall being.
After decanting this long, theres a heady level of starch carbohydrate.

Good classic RRV Pinot but no wow factor. Tart cherry with a trace of rich leather. Maybe will get more interesting in a few years. Prefer my 06 Selyem Sonoma.

This is a beautiful Pinot. Smooth, Fruity and impeccably balanced with a great finish. However, nothing stood out and made me go wow, but I guess that's expected of the entry level Paul Hobbs wines. Not too dissimilar from Hartford Court RR, which is about $15 cheaper.

This bottle showed incredibly well. Nose is open for business. Classic dark RRV fruit with a vegetal underpinning that I've perceived in other vintages. A little baking spice on the finish. Amazing depth and weight. Very well rounded. Beat a 2014 Kosta Brown RRV head to head

Really nice, rich, full bodied Pinot Noir - nothing subtle about this, but that's how I like it! A crowd pleaser too - of the reds we laid out for a summer lunch (this Pinot, a 2012 Beaucastel CNDP, and a 2011 Tignanello), this was by far the most served!

Red fruit on the nose, raspberry and strawberry with a hint flowers on the palate. The long finish brings out a touch sweet spices. A beautiful well made wine.

3 hour decant. Brilliant ruby robe. Nose of black cherry, raspberry, strawberry, rose petal, mineral. Jumps out out of the glass, strong but so delicate. Palate similar, very smooth, excellent pinot, obviously well made.

Dark red cherries, blueberries, cloves, lavender and a little mint with a savory, delicate quality but it seemed to be missing some depth. Nice bright fleshy start but then it petered out on the finish.

2013 was a bright and vibrant pinot noir vintage in Sonoma. 100% pinot. Cherry cola, cranberry fruit, medium bodied, typical Russian River valley pinot noir.
