Medium ruby in colour with a slight garnet rim & restrained aromas of slightly jammy black fruit, lovely old French oak & earthiness. On the palate, bold tart red fruit, sour cherry, subtle old French oak, herbal, spice/ pepper, high acidity & medium well integrated soft tannins. Well balanced & smooth, but still lively from the acidity & pepper. The finish is long & dominated by sour cherry & pepper. Lovely old wine that has aged well.

WOTN initial demure fruit was the opening this quickly evolved into a fruit/integrated tannins that exploded across the whole palate and its long length seemed to never let up hope all that got to taste this special wine appreciated the experience

Cork came out in small pieces. Nose was very interesting, cedar closet? Color had a tiny brackish brown, the wine was tasty, smooth, some acidity. I did not get a lot of fruit. Brad loved it and would probably score it94

A lot of power and strong fruit and tannins nose - we got a lot a red berries - strawberries and raspberries tannins and acidity was medium + - but the wine wine was still light and easy to drink we were at 92-93 - after a break of 45 minutes we tasted the wine again - and now it was very much down to earth - mostly acidity with some fruit - so we are ending at 91.

Ha bisogno di tantissimo tempo per aprirsi, ma poi nel bicchiere sembra non morire mai. Meglio al naso che in bocca, soffre forse di un corpo un pochino esile, come se la frutta forse oramai stanca. Vino comunque emozionante.

I knew Franco Biondi Santi and about 10 years ago at Tenuta "Greppo" he told me to always open a bottle of his wine atleast 8 hours in advance. I opened and decanted for 6 hours, returned to bottle, and reopened 1.5 hours before dinner after tasting a small glass. Exceptional, dark ruby, earthy, dark fruit, spicy pepper long finish, balanced. Blind tasted to very knowledgeable persons at the dinner who stated that it was an older vintage and were surprice that it was 2003.
This Brunello was a nice bottle with a brilliant nose perfectly balanced with earth, dark ripe berries and animality. The palet was smooth and velvet like and everything was in perfect balance with the fruit bursting out after 30 minutes in the glass! the finish was all about softness and I maybe lacked a bit of backbone and structure to lift it a notch more or to but all in all a good brunello but a bit too pricy though!

Wine with Friends (Our House, Avondale, PA): Slightly dusty nose. Darker and richer fruits than the Siro Pacenti. As the wine opened the fruit became just a little raisiny. Slight honey. Dry. Nice.

This is stellar. The subtle ripeness keep this accessible and delicious, but the acidity is gorgeous and keeps it from being overbearing. All the flavors I'd expect in a Brunello, just magnified.

Brunello di Montalcino tasting (Riga, Latvia): 🏅Rating 89/100 (3,9⭐)
Also muted aromas. Palate seems more lively & energised as opposed to Ciacci tasted along. Acidity. Austere a bit.

Great brick color. Oak with leather essence. Some lavender and austere spice that goes on. RIP Franco Biondi Santi
