Bryllupsdag 04, og grillet ytrefilet. Forsmak med bruden. Tydelig moden lukt, plomme.

Plommer

Between red and ruby in colour. Nose: Mainly fruity, with herbal notes; sour cherry, dark cherry; cherry stones, raspberry, garrigue, sage and dried rosemary. (89p) Taste: The arrival is fruity and soft, with raspberry and sweet cherry. On the mid palate the cherry stones are more prominent, alongside the juicy sweet cherry fruitiness. The exit continue with these elements into a fairly long and juicy aftertaste. (89-90p) A Burgundian, medium bodied and delicate CdP which drinks well now and whose juicy fruitiness is its greatest asset. It will probably not gain from further cellaring. Drinks best at a Burgundian temperature, around 16-18 °C. Total score 89 points.

Dark, browny red colour. Smell of cinnamon, anise and red berries. Well developed tannins, charry flavour, but taste is a bit short and not as developed as I hoped. A little disappointed, but perhaps the wine is past it's best.

Fiken, lavendel, deilig i dag :-)

Very good wine, particularly for the pricepoint. Earthy, with vibrant fruit. A bit dry on the finish but quite balanced overall. Even hid its 14.5% well. Hit the spot, and in a good drinking window; should stay there for some time to come.

Bluish red with dark burgundy edge. Very aromatic: chocolate and raspberry. Taste of coffee, dark berries, bell peppers, with a slight metallic aftertaste.

Brick red. Deep, sweet nose with flowers and spicies. It follows up nicely in the mouth. Powerfull, but not owerwheling. A hint of animal notes adds complexity. Decent acidity and a long lasting finish. This wine has improved itself bottle by bottle.

Medium lys rød farge. Nese med kjøtt, krydder lett pepper og mørk frukt. God munnfylde med integrert eik og noe tanniner som tørker litt ut mot slutten. medium ettersmak. God vin som er drikkeklar.

Nice deep cherry notes, pencil shavings, and graphite on the nose. Big bold flavor, slightly musty, a wisp of spice. Didn't floor me with complexity but was very yummy as a bottle to have with dinner.

Nice red berry flavors with good balance and solid finish. A pop n pour & good benefit from some decanting or a few more years of cellaring. Not particularly distinctive, but a solid balanced wine that is very drinkable now. Nice tannin/acid balance with a hint of mineral terroir but a very solid QPR for $35 CndP.

Sweet aromas of dried red flowers, exotic wood and mint pastils. Sweetly taste and decent consentration. The alcohol (14,5 pct) was a real downturn for me on my previous bottle, but this time the alcohol seems better integrated.
Very good match to beuf bourgignon.

2 hours decant. Transparent red. An exquisite fruit nose. On the palate surprisingly acidic, but also delicious licorice, spices, hint of vanilla, medium tannins. A well made and nice enough wine with more acid than we appreciated. Not worth its price. We had a garlic and rosemary stuffed leg of lamb with haricots vert and creamy mushrooms. Surprisingly, not a good match.

South Rhone tasting (Lørenskog): Relatively dark and clear. Ingratiating. Blueberry, mushrooms, medicine. Complex aroma. Full-bodied, but smooth. Dark berries. Very spicy and long finish. Some bitterness.

Decanted 90 minutes in advance. The wine was lovely although perhaps aging fast? Colour seemed a little brown and overall it reminded me of tawney port. Perhaps I let it breathe too long?

Rather charming Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Pleasant, Grenachey with nice interplay of brambly sour-cherry and raspberry with subtle wafting notes of garrigue. A little raspy on the palate and leans out towards the spicy, peppery finish. Not a ton of weight, closer to a Cotes du Rhône really. Still, a nice wine, solid, not a superstar but seems like one to reward a few years in the cellar. I have half a bottle to check in on tomorrow on the off chance this smooths out and picks up some weight.

At a tasting of the Wine Club SF. No nose to speak of from the crappy glass; really interesting taste, sort of a sweet grape balsalmic vinegar with hops and a dry tannic finish. Fair to good.

2004 Chateauneuf du Pape (Great Wine Buys): Vanilla and bright peppery spices on the nose. Dark berries and cinnamon flavor. Medium short finish - slightly bitter. Red Rhone Blend, primarily grenache.
