This is a very nice cab franc. Sometimes these can be too robust, but not this one. This wine provided a very nice wine to utilize with a grilled ribeye, and it work perfect. The bold dark fruit body (but not overpowering bold) along with the slightly elevated acidity mixed with some smooth balanced tannins gave this wine a "drinking" pleasure. There is still life in this wine of, my estimate, is 2-4 years. It would be nice to have another bottle to check this on, but this was my last.

I really liked this. Not an expert, as probably consumed <100 bottles of cab franc in my life. Drinking amazingly well. Don't know if Bob was still making this in 2013.

Tasted with several other Cab Francs, this one stood out for the beautiful integration of fruit, savory notes, and early mature complexity. Although not as openly billowing and opulent as the 2019 Paradigm Cab Franc, the nose and palate were utterly seamless in comparison, beautifully knitting together lush fruit (cassis, dark cherry, black raspberry) and savory components (dark chocolate, espresso, humidor tobacco, Indian spices) with firm but moderated tannins and sufficient acidity. In a peak drinking window now.

Opened but not decanted for over 45 minutes before pouring, as part of a Cabernet Franc night with my wine group. Not surprisingly, it was the biggest most fruit forward wine of the night. Long finish. Not everyone's favorite, but it was my WOTN. A real treat for those that like new world and CA wines.

Always a reliable producer. Nose: blackberry, baking spices, dark chocolate, minerals, palate: blackberry, raspberry, some oak, coffee, medium + tannins, great balance, just amazing.

These are always enjoyable. Pride has a lot of wines that are neat little combinations of Napa and Sonoma. This is a floral red fruited cab franc that is quite representative for the variety. Medium+ density wine. This is a bottle to pop when you just want a good wine at the end of the day and don't want to really think about it. Like, for me right now. Drink this and be happy!

Tannins were silky, the alc/acid balance was prefect. The fruit and wood were blended and not over done. The nose was almost nonexistent besides a fate smell of red wine.

Part of a blind virtual wine tasting, where everyone received tasting notes for the wines, and a numbered reusable plastic 4 oz. juice bottle. Surprisingly, the unanimous favorite (8 people). Even those that normally don't like Cab Franc loved this. Grippy and tanic, it was a treat to drink.

A bottle three weeks ago was pretty good, but that might have been context, the weather, biorythms, and my refusal to ignore my high expectations. This time around, it was...OK. The fruit struck me as a little flat and dull, and I suspect that it has slid past its shelf life. Drink now.

Not as "yummy" as previous vintages, but probably more true to the varietal. A fair amount of bell pepper on the nose, along with various (non-baking) spices. Black and blue fruits on the palate, along with the peppers and spices. Leaner than previous vintages, but still pretty rich. Solid finish. Great balance right now, and it's definitely ready to drink.

I really like this wine normally but after tasting it over three hours, unfortunately the party is over for this vintage. No bright fruit left. Clumsy, brooding, deep black plums, no structure, short to no finish.

Decanted but still needed time to mellow. First pour was nice complement to Mexican beef dish, but overwhelmed with alcohol heat and tannins. After a couple hours the rich dark fruit came through while a hint of pepper remained. Very enjoyable and drinking well now.

Poured half the bottle in the decanter, I’ll add it to rest for 30 minutes, then followed over an hour.
My nose is a bit skewed fromlighting an outdoor fire. I am catching a bit of green pepper on the wines approach, but not much spice. Soft tannins give a dry, satin-like, lingering finish, The other one still strikes me as a bit watery, without the depth or half that I find in some of my favorite cab francs. Still a nice wine, I would drink this by 2020 based on my palate and preferences.

Decanted for 90 minutes then consumed over two nights. This is the ballyhooed 2013 vintage so maybe I simply expected too much, but this bottle initially offered only muted fruit masked by muted oak. After 2 hours the fruit became more assertive and displayed signs of something quite nice occurring, so I made the decision to re-cork the bottle for the next night. Mistake. The wine had lost all tension, the fruit presenting itself as ponderous,

This is magnificent right now: 83% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep, luxurious red. Medium-plus body. IMO, more expressive (borderline voluptuous) than previous vintages. Fragrant fruit and flower aromas mix with subtle incense and spice that spiral and waft through every layer of the cortex. A fresh infusion of purest red, black and blue fruit flavors invigorates the palate with every sip, whistling all the way to the finish. 14.4% ABV. Drink or hold.

Pop and pour, followed over 2 hours. With 40 mins this has opened nicely and is really enjoyable. Not the most viscous grip on the stems, there’s some blueberry, moss or eucalyptus and pencil lead on the nose.
While the wine is dry on the pallet, it’s got some nice depth and layering up front. After an hour there is virtually no green noticeable unless you really aerate in your mouth,, though there’s a bit of white pepper, ash, and flowers.
This is an interesting cab Franc; while enjoyable and maybe a bit overpriced, It’s not as good as when Bob made this one. I really wish she’d make some cab Franc under his own label but I don’t suspect that will ever happen…

Pop and pour, followed from the bottle without decanting over 90 minutes. There’s a little green that blows off after 45 to 60 minutes, but the wine lacks the depth or structure – with a little bit of bite – that I typically enjoy in a cab Franc. With four bottles remaining, I’ll drink another bottle late 2018 and presently I’m sticking by my 2020 drinking window.

Cabernet Franc tasting at Landmarc@the Time Warner Center (Landmarc@the Time Warner Center - NYC): What happened here? I enjoyed my 2010s so much, and really enjoyed my 1st bottle of the 2013 version. But this one had a muted nose and some bitter and maybe green bell pepper notes. Fat Tuesday - Single Producer Night - Pride Mountain Vineyards (Landmarc @ the Time Warner Center): I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this. My last bottles of Pride's Cab Franc were the 2010s, and I loved them. The reviews and cellartracker notes for the 2013 vintage lowered my expectations. It is lighter than Pride's Cab Sauvignon, but it has enough weight so that I can't call it soft. According to WA 17% of this wine is Merlot and Cab Sauv, so maybe that helped it.

The wine seemed closed to me both on initial pour and 1 day later. No typical cab franc violet floral qualities emerged. The fruit was muted and the finish was dry with plenty of tannin and structure. I will wait a few few years to see if this evolves into something more enjoyable.

Do not do what I did. I decanted the wine and did not get back to it for six hours. If this wine presently has a drinking window, it was slammed shut by the time I tasted it unless you like timid, watery fruit enveloped by hostile pervasive tannin.
