Lovely cherry, strawberry, banana nose. Full bodied mouth feel without being "jammy." Clean finish with no residual tannin. I expect this wine is currently at its peak.

Sojourn does it right! Rose & lavender dominate the opening nose. Nice acidity with strawberry, cranberry offset by a hint of cinnamon on the back end. Medium finish. Needs about 30-45 minutes of air before it starts singing. Nice value at $39 from the winery. Have a couple more to consume over the next two years. Easy to drink on its own.

Decanted for 30 minutes. A little closed with moderate tannins to start but opened after another 15 minutes. Mix of red and dark fruit, medium body. Very good wine for the price.

This was an exemplary embodiment of all that makes Sonoma Co. world class from the cork pull. Extremely flamboyant nose of recently trimmed rose petal and cinnamon. A lengthy finish of silken cherry infused orange peel has no hint of heat. Not sure if this is a preferred food accompaniment but damn good as a stand alone. Planning on accompanying it with a Don Pepin cigar tomorrow.

tasted blind. moderate oak, dark fruits, some cola favors, ripe, full-bodied, almost tastes like a Zin except for the cola/spices. A great example of a Cali Pinot

LA Rookies Old v New World Pinot Dinner (South Pasadena): Purplish in the glass, alcohol on the nose, ripe red fruit, I was getting a weird sawdust note, noticeable drying tannins on cheeks, stood up nicely to caramelized onions and anchovies.

Lots of spice and acid in front of some very nice bright berries. Keep thinking those tannins are going to die down a bit and this will be awesome. Needs a bit more time or a nice long decant.

P: MF, poss Med, body; Almost swtish frt on front; Lingering, quite faint finish; While showing VERY nicely right now, I'd probably opt to drink this over the next 18 mos or so. My score reflects the QPR of this vendor's $31.95.

P: MF body, almost swtish entry; Lingers nicely though just a touch faintly. There's a note of bitterness, though it's NOT a negative. Delish now, I can see it improving. 91 pts from the WS, 92 pts & an Editors' Choice from WE, & 94 pts from the Pinot Report. My score reflects the QPR of this vendor's $31.95 [a tasting "special"?].

Agree with EWDS and Cristian_M that this is and entry level AVA Pinot that is quite well done. Translucent ruby red with a quite strong nose of cherry, raspberry and a hint of flowers along with the alcohol. Really forward on the front palate where the cherries, and a strawberry flavor mix well with the notes of vanilla and oak. In the finish, there are some nicely structured but light tannins to compliment the bright acidity and a bit of spice. Not likely an age-worthy wine, but a relatively good value over the next two years.

Translucent garnet to purple in color with medium legs. Floral nose with notes of strawberry and maybe olive. Flavors are well integrated with notes of strawberry and black pepper. Not a fruit forward bomb and more on the elegant side. Medium bodied. Easy drinking and very smooth with an acidic tart finish.

A really solid entry-level AVA offering. Bright and savory red fruits with a solid supporting structure. I expect this wine will be a near-term drinker, but a delight during that time frame. The savory red fruits sail to a very nice finish. Good QPR for this wine (by higher-end Sonoma standards).

A fair wine and for the price, a moderate if not decent value. Really hot. Nose and palette are hot with alcohol. Over everything on the nose there is a solid breeze of booze that impacts the floral and high notes that otherwise would have a chance to come out. The cherry and the cola and the wood and the oaky vanilla are all in there, but its just such a jarring sip with the high ABV punch and all, it kinda takes the polish off the thing. I can see how some folks love this one, and I can appreciate that it comes off as a hot climate pinot style form a not so hot growing region, but I find it a a little crude and not worthy of any aging. All that said with a grain of salt knowing that its their entry level pinot. :-(

A blend of Sojourn's Pinot Noir from its stellar single vineyards. This tasting is just after release so admittedly it is quite young. A Ruby color with explosive aromatics, it delivers that classic, big, earthy Sojourn bouquet, although with darker fruit and more cherry than I expected. The texture is familiar and silky smooth. Blackberry, cherry and spice on the palate. Not a particularly long finish but it has some nice spice. At the $39 price point in Sojourn's lineup, it's a relative value.

With any Pinot I have I feel the need for a disclaimer in that I am not a huge fan of Pinot. This wine was mild with some spice. Really tasted the OH and had a light, short finish.

Still a core of simple cherry fruit. Slightly smoky. I'm impressed it has remained as drinkable as this, four years since my last notes.
