Our last of a case, popped and poured with dinner. Black cherry, white pepper, sage and cinnamon notes. Develops a touch of the typical Cameron funk with a little time in the glass. Medium-bodied. Flavors of spiced plum, cherry and boysenberry. In a nice place- at peak for my palate, and still a great value.

I bought three of these on release, this is the first one I have opened. Too much wine, to little time. Third day open. No noticeable change. Nose is good, but not spectacular. The palate though is incredible. Dark cherry, bursting with flavor. Long lingering finish. Not sure if this is at its prime, but it is definitely in a great window. I only bought Cameron on from Storyteller because I was trying to consolidate shipping, but if his current releases are this good, I will need to start buying direct since Michael shut down many years ago.
Winding down the end of the case, sad... This bottle seemed a bit advanced, maybe it was still tight. Decanted it, but it was my small Riedel decanter that I use at BYO's, not a lot of air space.

Our penultimate bottle from a case, decanted off its sediment and poured half an hour later. Ruby color, a bit lighter at the meniscus. Aromas of black cherry, earth and spice- clove, mainly. Violet and cedar, orange peel notes emerge with air. Lighter in body but packed with black cherry, black raspberry, rose, white pepper and herb flavors. Nice underlying acidity with a lingering finish. This continues to be such a tremendous QPR. Drinking so very well right now, but I just might tuck our last bottle back in the cellar for a few more years and see what happens. Solid 92 for me, 92-93 for Domino.

Medium garnet in the glass with a bit of a watery meniscus. Raspberries, earth and foliage on the nose. The palate is round and medium bodied, with the gentle sweetness of juicy raspberries upfront balanced by an herbal finish that lends a nice sense of composure to the relatively simple Pinot. It has lost the tension, coiled energy and the angularity that was present in earlier years and has relaxed into a smooth glass of OR Pinot, but as of yet has not developed much in terms of additional complexity.

Decanted off its sediment. Notes of black cherry and wild raspberry- something a little brambly or briery- as well as blue fruit and floral notes. Wonderful red pinot fruit on the palate, with raspberry and spice. Well-balanced with a terrific fruit-filled finish. Drinking well though should hold at this level for a couple of years. 90-91 pts for Domino and I.

Textbook Oregon pinot - cranberry, earth and spice with a lot of tension and grip. Slightly acidic in a food-friendly way. Smooth, with a firm structure and lean texture. Best bottle yet. 90-91
Dried red fruits, red cherry, earth and spice along with a lot of bitter grape skins on the nose - unusual, but interesting. Sour on the palate, with a thin mouthfeel - something less than the lean mouthfeel I expect from an Oregon pinot. Not like prior bottles which were lean, but not thin. Became even more sour with air, and never blossomed. Will not score as it was atypical.

The high acidity was apparent at the pnp but resolved a bit with air and better integrated later on. Nice wine that was better with food. Probably needs 5 more years.

Decanted and followed over two hours or so. This continues to be one of the best values we have had over the years. Black cherry, raspberry and Asian spice notes. Medium-bodied, with cherry and spice flavors. Medium+ finish. The last sips had an almost "sweet" fruit profile- not at all in a detrimental way, just different than the first couple of glasses. Balanced; nice acidity. 91 pts for both Domino and I. Shows no signs of tiring. Thank you, JP!

Dark cherry with just a touch of earthy funk underneath. Well balanced with a nice finish. Hell of a value. Not quite as much funk as the '13 version enjoyed the prior evening.

I expected this to be rounding further into form, but this bottle was, surprisingly, a bit shrill. Improved with air, so I'd suggest holding a bit longer or giving this a decant.

Medium ruby with a ripe berry, woody nose. Night two, dry, tart red berry fruit, cranberry, rhubarb, red currants and some pomegranate. Medium fruit and body with a good acid and tannin balance. Soft and round mouth feel with nice tartness to be very interesting and compelling. Lovely fresh and fruity with some chewy raspberries, not one to ponder, just drink and enjoy now.

Medium to dark ruby with light violet nose. Dry with some lightly tart fruit, limited funkiness in the fruit of raspberries and currants, some light cane pith tannins in wonderful balance with a slight acid edge. This reminds me of my first experience drinking an OR PN that got me to take the grape seriously. Just a lingering fresh fruit kept in check by the acids. Not super complex, just damn good for $17. I should have bought a case.

Dark ruby, lilacs and cherry nose. Lightly dry, soft fruit with just a touch of funkiness, more in the sense of earthy mineral. Medium fruit and body, light on the tannins, blood orange on the finish which gives a little twist. Developing some saline notes in the glass on night two. It has a profile that improves with familiarity, I would liken to drinking an IPA that if you like it you do and if not you don't. Night three and shows continued improvement, bright berry notes predominate with a little tart mineral, the slight funkiness is more toward leather and earth.

Dark ruby with a cherry nose and a pleasant amount of funkiness. Dry with some tart tannins, medium fruit, funky cherries reminiscent of those rum/cherry filled chocolates, balsam, earthy forest notes. not really reserved or austere. My wife who prefers white wine is starting to open up to Cameron reds. I need to increase a pt on that basis alone. She actually poured a second glass with salmon.

Much like the WV chard a crazy good value. Very varietally correct with forest floor, fungus, tart raspberry and strawberry fruit, peat moss on a very clean profile.

At $18 a great wine. If this was $35 and came from burgundy, I would be impressed. Well balanced between fruit, earth and acidity. Winner. Back up the truck.

An absolute home run in the QPR department. Notes of black cherry, currants and raspberry with hints of herbs and earth underneath. Flavors of black cherry, clay, earth and raspberry. Balanced, with a lengthy finish. Under $21 delivered. 91 for me, 92 for Domino.

Ripe fruit and spice on the nose. Dark cherries and a hint of dusty blackberries. Juicy and delicious in the mouth, but not out of balance. Red fruit trending dark with some tannin carrying the finish.

sour cherry, unripe fruit profile leaves the palette unsatisfied--would prefer a little sweetness to balance the strong acidity. I have concluded that this bottle was bad, I had to toss it after this tasting. Normally a good winery.
I like the warm year OR pinots. More fruit forward and easy to drink. I thought the balance and acidity were very well put together with the fruit. This paired well with fresh king salmon tonight. QPR was excellent. Would buy again.

Day one seemed to be a nice, darker than I prefer pinot, almost showing unami character, wondering about acid. Not feeling right about this but easy to drink. Day 2 it settled into what i feel is the problem with this wine, its fruit is just overripe, almost roasted with dark raspberry quality. This if not acidified would lead to lack of acidity which it feels to be. Not for the long haul.

Obscenely young, but couldn't resist trying one of these. You get a wave of fruit on the initial P&P, followed by a massive recoil into nothingness. The wine then just sat tight for maybe 45 min to an hour. After that it slowly expanded again, showing bright fruit and an almost Beaujolais-like note, not dissimilar to the 2014 Thivin I had recently. Over several hours it settled down and showed some potential. By the end it was a lovely wine and I'm glad to have a case. Hope to keep my hands off of this for a while though.

Still extremely young. PNP notes: lush violets, good acidity, some oak notes. On decant (~2 hr): jammy raspberry notes, forest floor, touch of sweet vanilla. Delicious, worth holding onto for a couple years before opening. Excellent quality to price.

2 hour open, had over 3 hours. Oregon Pinot glass. Light bodied, texturally slick, little grip. Surprisingly sappy and energetic. Relatively simple and straightforward, some mild berry sweetness with undertones of herbs and lanolin. Pleasing to drink now, after a decant, and later.
