Perfect age. Powerful, deep taste, dark fruit, herbs, licorice. Good acidity and tannins. Complex taste. Paired with the Christmas dinner, and it worked very well.

Retailer tasting; Rhône: Slightly developed bouquet and palate. This first bottle was opened the day before tasting. The second bottle was popped and poured and a lot fresher with good garrigue and fruits. Pleasant acidity. The fact that the wine already shows oxidized impressions after one day is an indication.

Ditto Jeff Leve, nailed the review as he does most of the time. Great result for such a bad year, a “fun” CDP, light bodied and certainly not complex but really easy drinking and a great summer red.
Update: loses much on day 2 after Vacuvin, this is recommended as a “drink the bottle on night 1”

Walk around tasting. Tasted in a flight of the 2013-2014-2015-2016 Chateauneuf-du-Papes by Clos Saint Jean. This probably today was the least performing vintage. Still good qpr though!

Straightforward notes of red fruits with hints of bramble. Medium bodied and rather one dimensional on the palate; high toned and lacking in depth, texture and focus.

Popped and poured. Ruby-purple color, not particularly deep or intense. Aromas of raspberry and other red fruits, with hints of herbs, spice, and bacon. Medium bodied, soft tannin, no astringency. Decent fruit, structure, and finish. A bit simple and foursquare, but enjoyable, and decent value for $25.

Well balanced, easy going with a bit more richness than usual for this light vintage; the fruit is dar and spicy, still, it stays on it's feat, and it is very drinkable indeed. #Andevin

Strong a nose with herb character, We medium body, good tan, missing just a touch of acidity, dark fruit on the palate, lingering finish but missing perhaps some fresh fruit

Printemps Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2017; 4/7/2017-4/9/2017 (Châteauneuf-du-Pape): Couleur : rubis.
Note : 15,75-16/20 i.e. 89-90/100

Wow nose, very spicy, herbes de Provence, BBQ sauce, Chateauneuf essence, black cherries, hint of licorice... Taste is very long but not too powerful, it is a light and delicate Clos Saint jean, very interesting, you can feel the complexity of the terroir, but this is a more delicate style, great Clos Saint Jean!!

No formal notes, but there is good fruit, good garrigue and acidity. The wine is in a very pleasant drinking stage now.

Visual: garnet, light at edges, slight bricking.
Nose: black pepper, red fruit, a little bit of funk, prunes/preserved fruit. More modern CdP.
Palate: a bit of red fruit, spice, feels slightly thin, not as strong as nose. tannins are fine grained and smooth.

Plum, secondary characteristics, dark velvet, agree with the red fruit in the lower comments. Drink up. Good QPR.

Printemps du Châteauneuf-du-Pape tasting. (La salle des fêtes in Châteauneuf-du-Pape): A bit more classical than the 2013, good fruits, garrigue and length. Good concentration and fresh acidity. Beautiful wine.
