Decanted and, after 3 hours, the fruit and tannins were decent, but I think this wine needs another year in the bottle. The complex structure was impressive and is evolving to the good. Nice balance and finish. Since I drank this at a dinner party, I did not make notes on the fruit flavors, but this wine is a good value.

Black and blue fruit, cassis, smoke, and savory herbs. Dry, balanced, with some snappy crispness to the full-bodied palate. Plums and blackberries from the middle and through the layered finish.

Falls into the category of "whats not to like", but fails to have the wow factor that makes one wax poetic about it's virtues. Sure it will go well with tonights burritos, but so would a beer. Wears California on it's sleeve (could be Australia). Chunky and simple. Chocolate notes on the palate. Not bad for the price.

Jack London Cab used to be one of my favorites - a distinctive wine that was moderately priced (high $30's to low $40's). Over the past few years Kenwood has turned this into a generic cab at the upper-end of everyday pricing (low $20's). They even replaced the unique etched bottle with a nondescript label. Disappointing.

Earth and dusty nose. As if the fruit did not keep pace with the tannin in aging. Softens with opening time. Nice wine, drink this vintage now.

Oh my. Very nice wine on a chilly evening. Got better after an hour decant, however it was good when I pulled the cork.

Pretty decent for a restaurant wine. Typical napa cab profile with a bit of green pepper, vanilla, and a med short finish.

Crisp Cabernet fruit, dry, subtle vanillin oak. Can cellar for a while yet. Very nice
