Decanted straight from the fridge, possibly served a bit too cold. Nice creamy, golden delicious, slightly buttery nose. Well balanced on the palate, with some tropical fruit counterpoised with richer butterscotch and dough. Definitely lots of life left in it.

Medium yellow. Ripe apple and apple pie nose with modest oak. Medium body, fresh acid, round, depth of fruit and well concentrated. Really good today, and with a future.

This is lovely. More Old World than New, ripe and glossy notes of green apples, orange citrus, stone fruit are imbued by a glazed richness, juicy tension, and nervy acidity. Wisps of creme brûlée and hazelnuts add a layered complexity. Classy, moreish, and very impressive.

Seymour Wine Club Meeting 1/20/18 (Home of the Slywka's): Tasted blind. This had some great stone fruit, slate and mineral on the palate. Flavors of sour apple, bread dough and some subtle tropical fruit. Ends with a 30 second finish. As this got warmer it got fuller and better. As Grgich got warmer, it wasn't as good. I gave this wine 93 points and it finished 2nd on the night.

Very complex and rich with citrus and very nicely integrated oak, great acid balance and good viscosity. Definately a cut above the more typical California over oaked style, rivals White Burgundy.

WSET Diploma Unit 3 - EXAM (SF Wine School): I blinded this as a white burgundy - the best wine of the exam: Noble reduction, high acidity, ripe lemon fruit, crushed rocks. Long finish with excellent flavor concentration. Medium alcohol - very elegant balance. It shows fairly clean winemaking which made me lateral Margaret River chardonnay, but on the balance I felt this level of reduction was more stylistic in Burgundy.
Analysis: This is an outstanding, classically-balanced Sonoma coast Chardonnay in a nobly-reductive style. I don't feel too bad about my white burg call.
$40 13 months in 1/3 new French barrique.

started out a bit closed on nose, but as it warmed and got air, it brought in a lot of complexity. vanilla, lemon curd, smoke, apple, roux, wet stones, nutmeg, white blossom. medium(+) acidity keeps this fresh despite oaking. palate shows more citrus and green apple. med(+) finish is round and pleasant.

BRENT25 pretty much nailed it: pleasing lemon-lime flavors and mouthfeel but not especially complex, especially as compared to a Pouilly Fuisse served alongside it. Doesn't warrant the average $40 price tag.

Straw with gold accents; nose of yeast and lemon/lime; palate follows nose with pronounced lime; medium plus acidity; simple, serviceable wine; not worth the price

oak and apple and pear fruit nose. The oak prevails on palate despite the pretty fruit, medium weight and fine acid. I'll give it another year or two in the cellar to see if the flavour profile comes around to one I prefer.

Pale lemon colour. The nose shows pronounced intensity aromas of walnut, cedar, lime, lemon peel, fresh peaches and subtle hints of vanilla.
It is dry in the mouth with a medium+ fresh acidity. It has a medium+ alcohol and a full body with a creamy texture. It has medium+ intensity flavours and a long finish.
It is an outstanding quality wine It has a very persistent finish, and the alcohol and acidity are in balance with its fruit concentration. It also shows complexity provided by oak ageing along with fresh fruit aromas.

There's a taut and penetrating depth of flavor at the core of this chardonnay, from a wind-cooled vineyard among the redwoods near Freestone. It's resolutely dry, with a tangy blood-orange verve, the grip of oak and creaminess of lees providing a context from the clean intensity of the fruit.

A classic California style Chardonnay.
Plenty of toasty oak and butter.
Bracing acidity tones this down but seems slightly out of place.
