2014 Arnaud Ente Bourgogne Blanc

  • Double decanted 8 hours prior to serving. It has good dose of grapefruit, citrus fruits and minerality on the palate. For now, 2010 Arnaud Ente Bourgogne Blanc tastes far better and more ready.

  • Beautiful reduction on the nose, but quite corked.

  • First of three. Perfect condition. White flowers on the nose with spice, dry extract and great length on the palate. Wow. So good.

Compared with a 2019 Pierre Boisson Bourgogne Murgey de Limozin, one of my favorites. The Ente is linear and focused with good length; the Boisson, while very good, is broad, rich with almost a little umami (!) in comparison. No doubt the Ente is better. That said, they are so close it’s hard to justify current Wine-Searcher pricing of $414 vs $60.

On followup about 3 hours in, the Ente has fallen apart a bit. So, if you open, drink up!

  • Zippy and elegant, this is a superb example of new-school White Bourgogne. Quality is great; pricing has gone stupid for this wine.

  • Arnaud Ente Vertical Bourgogne Blanc (2009/2014/2017)

The wine with the most potential. White flowers, cream and chalk at the fore with slate and cream hitting after. Lean, full of minerality and precise - characteristics of the vintage in my experience with 14s. Beautiful now and I am sure will get even more expressive with the clear legs that it has to run for a few more years.

Still Unsure what the hype is all about there...

Some light reduction on the nose, a certain flintiness but more of a ripe side, talked about chardonnay from NZ or Australia

Not very long, yet a good balance between acid and power oil the palate, it gained more power after oxygenation and temperature rise, still was getting more opulent too ... if you are into laser like chards there was a bit of distance here.

If lucky let's try it one more time :)))

    Amazing complexity for a Bourgogne

  • Arnaud Ente Bourgogne Blanc are exceptionally refined and exquisite, even though it is a mere Bourgogne Blanc, it shows its class and refinement. Tasted blind – An elegant array of bright lemons and buttery touch. Refined and very charming, honest village weight with fine acidity and ripeness. Chassagne Montrachet? Ramonet? 2013? (88/100)

  • Served blind, so you cannot be positively or negatively influenced. This was a delight and totally blew us away when we realised this was 'just' a bourgogne; easily the best bourgogne I have had, and better than the Leroy I tried recently. Pale on colour. Piercing. Acidic. Pure. Little oak. Stone and minerals. Bit of flint. Just lovely. Served by TL at VO birthday

  • First the wine; this was excellent; probably the best Bourgogne blanc I've had; only the Leflaive 2014 and Leroy 2014 come close, but this was better than both; the nose is beautiful with an initial hint of matchstick leading to lemon peel, crushed stone, lime zest, green apple, acacia, a hint of spice and a hint of hazelnut. The palate is bright and fresh, but has very good depth and concentration for the level with a lingering finish. Sadly though the prices for A Ente wines are silly. You can buy top class 1er cru Meursault and Puligny for the price of the Bourgogne and even some Corton Charlemagne! It's a shame because I truly do love this domaine's wines and if this Bourgogne was available even for the expensive price of $50-60 I'd buy it as often as I could; but I can't really justify spending over $100 for a Bourgogne level, even when it is really good...

  • Ente signature nose. Gun powder, hint of citrus. Kind of heavy in mouth feel. Short length. IMO better serve in lower temperature. A sneak peek for its village level wine. Not as focus and precise but it's still a special and very tasty wine for me. I think it will keep improving and will be fun to watch how it develop in the future.

  • Not much to add to the previous notes. Linear, focussed, with lovely balance, good fruit and great acidity. Vibrant finish. Drink or keep. 90-92

  • This particular bottle was drank next to the 2014 Roulot Bourgogne Blanc.

Both such wonderful wines but both very different in style.

The Roulot is a lot richer and riper with excellent concentration and length. Not just for a Bourgogne Blanc but it would be impressive for a village wine twice the cost.

The Ente on the other hand was much more focused and precise. There was a bit more salinity and mineral on the palate. A bit more pure which I prefer. It doesn't have the Coche nose or length IMO but it's a very elegant and beautiful wine.
