Blackberry, menthol, gentle toast on the nose - 60% Cab Franc showing very strong still with the 40% Merlot fading - a big green pepper pop, jalapeño, and long, tangy finish - a real treat!

Brown Bag Wine Dinner at Two Chefs; 10/4/2011-10/5/2011 (TWO CHEFS, MIAMI, FL): - Violet color with fast forming legs and aromas of blackberry, eucalyptus and violet. It's balanced and has flavours of blackberry, eucalyptus, bell pepper and alcohol with a full body. Juicy texture with a long finish - Bob's wine. Obviously California, but we were all at a loss to identify the dominant Cab Franc.

Took a trip to Napa as a tag along with my finance while she worked outside San Franscisco. I scheduled my day around a tasting at Conn Valley. Made the trek to get there (certainly off the beaten path) and was met by Mac the wine maker in their cave. We then proceeded to taste through their entire line up of wines including new ones still in the barrel. I didn't take notes as I was enjoying it too much but they were great. After the tasting, I went to the office and proceeded to spend way too much money. Since I was off having fun while Debbie worked, I wanted to bring something good for dinner that night. They found this bottle which they said was the first year of this blend. It was great. Popped an poured. It took 10 minutes to begin to open up and just kept improving over the night. Nose of earth, dark cherry, chocolate. Taste of sage, earth, cherry, strawberry. Medium body, looooong finish. Good tannin structure that indicates a long life ahead. Outstanding.

The favorite wine of the night. Drank really well with spicy ribs. Tannins were soft, but still vibrant. Cab Franc very pronounced and complimented the Merlot.

There's a lot there, and it's interesting, but it is lopsided and harsh. There's been incredible bottle variation in the three we've had, where one was *much* better than this and one was somewhere in the middle.

cannot express enough how much i like this wine. I am still a rookie (2 years of serious drinking) and am not capable of putting the professional adjectives to wine. But, I will say that I am soooo glad I tried this wine. I have had it three times now, each one seems better. Longest finish I have ever personally had on a wine. Now I know what that means. Nose is different than taste. Taste is so easy to drink and the best word I have is an almost chocolatly (sp?) finish. I will pick up more of this as soon as I can.

Consumed at home with seared New York steak. Bright disc. Medium-to-deep ruby robe with red rim. Clean nose, showing a very intense, pleasant bouquet of kirsh, bing cherries, blueberries, chocolate and pipe tobacco. Medium-bodied on the palate, with low acidity, medium ultra-sweet tannins and a soft mouth texture. The flavors mirror the nose. Medium, silky-smooth finish. This is indeed a seductive wine which should serve as a crowd pleaser over the next decade.

Tasting. Great start with ripe blackberry and some blueberry aromas, plenty of supporting oak spice. Similar fruit flavors, good subtle structure. Moderate finish. Best now through 2011.

Bordeaux-like yet enough of a CaliCab to be impressive. Well worth the money and a bit of cellaring.

A cab franc-merlot blend which is a joy to experience! This is drinking well now but has the backbone to last many more years...your choice.

Better than the last bottle. Cab franc nose, takes about 1 hour to open. Currant, Chocolate, Dark fruit. Should last 4 or 5 years
