Having a grilled Mediterranean dinner tonight, found this in the Mediteranian-Section of the cellar and gave it a go. Smooth and dry, On the powerful side not thinned by age. stewed plum, typical aged tempranillo taste profile. Good example of the type, Gave it an 89 in the best sense of an 89. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It tastes like plum. The body is full. The wine has angular texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

A nice bottle. Deep red colour. Plum and blackberry flavours start, moving towards more leather and earth. Tannins are moderate and this could stay in the cellar another few years.

We've had much better Spanish, earthy, Tempranillo. It's got biting, grippy, distracting tannins. It's not becoming. In our cellar since May 2018. We had hoped for more, but 88.9, seems about right, a little high even. Underwhelming. Almost good. After 30 minutes open, the fruit began to show up, like West Chester mentioned. Tannins dissipated some. OK, this is good sign... Pour another and dig in... But... Still lacking... Had w a spicy veggie meatball w mushroom spaghetti dish. Wanted balance but the flavor is just acceptable, nothing more... 87/88 Pts.

Very solid bottle of wine, especially for the cost. Smooth. Full flavored. Dry. Got better as it aired out - maybe open and let sit 30-45 minutes before drinking.
This particular bottle was purchased on clearance from a nursery, of all places, yet it did what I'd expect from earlier purchases. Rich dark berry and leather battle with vibrant acid and long lasting tannin. Can handle any meal you wish to throw at it, but great with a cigar too.

This is full of youthful exuberance. Deeply pitched notes of cassis, plums, and tobacco showed aromatic complexity. The palate was tightly wound and needed two hours to reveal densely-packed blackberry flavors that are lifted by tannic structure and an excellent cut. Outstanding and excellent value too.

This wine has a nice deep purple color. Aroma is very subdued and taste characteristics are difficult for me to detect. Body is light to medium. Balance seems a little acidic which did not improve with an hour of time. It was best with food, such as meat, pasta, or cheese.

Good QPR for a $10 bottle, but a little untamed at this point. Translucent look and medium garnet color. Burgundy color meniscus. Notes of berries, licorice, and tobacco. Medium bodied feel with a full bodied intensity. The intensity is fulled by 15% alcohol that may, at first, be too intense for the ladies. My wife complained of a headache. Unmistakable tannins that are well integrated, but may do better with a few more years in the bottle. Old world style. Medium finish that is surprisingly long at this price point. A good weekday or campfire wine when coupled with a steak.

Robt Parker 92. $17 at grocery store. Deep garnet color, full flavored, nicely balanced wine. Plums, cherries, spice flavors with supple tannins and nice acidity make this a great value food wine.

P: LM body; NICE, almost swtish frt met by an almost swtish, very, VERY finely tannic pucker which pretty much resolves by the LONG, spicy, tangy/swt finish. DESERVES 6-9 mos, then drinking for 3 yrs more. My VG+; 92 pts WA, 90+ Tanzer, & 88 RJonWine. 15% ABV [This vendor's $12.99 is near the VERY top of a HUGE wine-searcher listing!]

Drank one glass slowly over about an hour. Definitely recommend letting it breathe about 1 hour... Deep ruby, thick, slow tears. Medium- aroma, still developing: prominent oakiness followed by sour cherry. Dry, medium bodied with medium+ acidity and medium tannins. Medium- flavor intensity: sour cherry and wet gravel. Medium- finish. Overall somewhat simple but acceptable quality. a little heavy on oak. drinkable now but potential for more aging.

Ha bisogno di una mezz'ora di aria ma e' molto solido. Ciliegia, prugna e cardamomo. Morbido e vellutato. Una punta di acido piacevole. Legno contenuto e buona lunghezza. Rapporto q/p ottimo a 9 euro.

Robert Parker gave this a 92. See photo of sticker on bottle. I like it. Richer, heavier fruit, and smoother than most tempranillos. Nothing distracting, but also not exciting. I'd give it a 90 overall, but maybe 91 since it goes beyond the normal tempranillo. Don't know how much we paid for it, but would likely but I't again if under $25. Wifey likes it too.
P: Med, poss MF, body; Rndish entry with almost swtish frt quickly met by finely tannic pucker which SLOWLY resolves into quite a LONG, VERY nicely balanced, ult almost swtish finish. NEEDS 18-27 mos, I'm guessing, before it becomes a potentially ELEGANT wine that COULD make its 10th yr. IMPRESSIVE! 92 pts WA, 90+ Tanzer, 88 RJonWine, + other reviews on wine-searcher's "Tasting Notes" pg. 15% ABV [As of late May '19, wine-searcher still shows 2 sources @ $14.49 & $17.97].
Addendum: Also tasted on 12/3/2016 & 1/20/2018, though not NEARLY so glowingly

I have a problem with qualifying a rating in terms of price, given relative benchmarks there may never be a high 90s rating. That said this one didn't do it go me. Found it rather flat with mineral overtones, you can do better.

Black fruit on the nose, peppery with some hints of dark chocolate and leather. Medium body, vibrant in the palate with fresh acidity, firm (but pleasant) tannins, with a mixed of fresh plum, dark cherries and some licorice ends with a nice long finish. Excellent wine for the price.
Let it breathe for at least 1 hour.
