8m maceration in barrel, no pressing, sulfur or filtration. Bottled with sediment. In 1L Bottle because there is about 1 glass of sediment in the bottle.

A note to those who taste this ... it needs to be left upright for a few days to settle the sediment and then decanted off. This is recommended directly from Movia, as it is purposefully bottled with significant sediment.

Not for everyone. Super dark and misty for a white as it is supposed to be with Ribolla Gialla. Starts out soft and understated, then opens up with more acidity and juicy lemons. It turned into sour lemon candy by the end. The nose wasn't as pronounced as I would like even after air. Judging by the cork, I would drink this before 2020. I imagine with current acidity, it will drink best after 2017.

bonkers of a wine with lots of volitile acidity, chewy texture.Honeycombe like and dry with high acidity.Orange and approach with caution if you are not familiar with this kind of wine.

Cloudy, looks like an unfiltered wit bier; nose is yeasty, perfumed with citrus, lemon oil, nice floral notes, and exotic spice, rich and full with a caressing texture; palate is dense and coarse with strong bite, salty and sharp citric acid notes reminding me of a gose, tannic from the skin contact; overall this would be very bizarre for most people but the natural richness and size of Ribolla makes this work.

I have been thinking about how to describe this wine in conventional terms, all of which does not actually summarise what I experience. In fact, the description by my girlfriend of this wine is probably spot-on: this wine is alive, it has a soul.
Okay, that description probably doesn't help you much. But the exact taste analysis of this wine is besides the point. Here goes some key taste elements: ripe grapefruite, blood orange, herbs and minerality, granny smith. Length is very, very long.

Off the list at Red Hen. Really great bottle of this. This is one of those "I can do it all" wines - it's juicy and fresh with screechy grapefruit flavors but has the gravitas and body of a red wine. It actually has some earthy scents that wouldn't be out of place in a red Burgundy. The color is deeper than the last time I had this and the flavors seem a pitch deeper too, yet it's still crisp and refreshing. Not an easy feat to pull off this high-wire act - bravo, Movia

Better experience than my previous bottle, just simply because I knew how to serve the wine. Very similar notes as my last bottle, but cleaner and more clarity. Very cool and interesting wine.

I made the mistake of not taking a look at Movia's website before opening this wine. They suggest having the bottle standing upright for a week before opening. I decanted the wine and it looked like an filtered IPA or Hefeweizen. I look forward to my next bottle, where I will treat the wine appropriately and not have all the sediment. Onto the wine; greatly expressive nose that ranged from notes of red stone fruits, oranges, and flowers. The palate was extremely bright with serious acidity. Again, even though I did enjoy the wine, I look forward to my next bottle for a more focused and clear experience.

thick and robust all natural white from slovenja. sapid and slightly metallic at the end. if you have a chance go for it. remember to let it breath first to bring out all the flavours!

Italian-Ish Wine Dinner @ Red Hen (Washington, DC): Nothing like a skin-fermented Ribolla Gialla from Slovenia! Yes, this is a weird wine, but the fruit is high quality and the wine kicks ass. Looks like a combination of grapefruit juice and sandy beach break water. Smells like lemon and orange peel, herbs, some must, funk. Severe acid on the palate, which I love, also some minerals and bright floral tones. To be honest, this wine reminds me a lot of some sour ales I've tried, with its bracing acid and tangy lemon-funk notes. It's not simple though, showing lots wax and creamy aspects. I'd love to try this in a few more years to see what it does. Intellectually stimulating stuff but clearly not for everyone. It paired well with a salt cod dip.

Although the color was described in very dersive terms the wine was very much loved. Salty and creamy at the same time, lovely finish. A bit of a wild ride but certainly as much hedonistic as it is intellectual.

Technically it's an orange wine but the color is actually more of a deep, pale, cloudy yellow. The sommelier decanted it and the dregs in the bottle didn't have much sediment but did have a much browner color - however, they still tasted pretty much the same as the decanted wine. I really liked this. The trick with these wines is not to let the dark color fool you - the flavors can still be very high-toned, and indeed this is crisp with the usual bright summery melon fruit. The skins give it just enough tannin to have a slight silkiness to the texture, and add some chamomile notes that give the flavors more intrigue as well.

This was served at NEXT in Chicago as a wine pairing for mushrooms and preserved fish. This wine is very odd. Milky beige color of brackish dishwater or mud puddle. The nose had a slightly oxidative funk, like over-the-hill white Burgundy. The palate is very constricted, with a tart apple-cider like mix of spice and acidity but little else in the way of layers of smells or tastes. It was OK as a curiosity but added little to the food (and vice-versa); I struggle to imagine a situation in which I would actively seek this out again.

Dark yellow and cloudy, bordering on truly orange. A very rich nose with some lemon and a butter smooth mouth feel with great texture, coating and balanced. The palate has a lot of apple with orange zest and grapefruit.
