Still deep in color. Blackberries, black raspberries, and a hint of earthiness in the nose. Black cherries and black raspberries in the flavor with some licorice notes. Nice acidity, well balanced and a medium length finish.

Crimson in color. 15.4% ABV. Stunning nose of red fruits, licorice, citrus and peach. Medium body with medium acidity. Claret style Zinfandel with perfect balance. Cherry, blood orange and pepper on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Far afield from what I expected but still incredibly compelling. Best over the next several years.

Gave it a quick decant. Great depth in this zinfandel. Very balanced all around with excellent dark red and black fruit flavors. Nice aftertaste and mouthfeel. Every once in a while there was a distinct alcohol taste that eventually stopped. Should last a good bit longer.

Needed an hour+ to get going. Initially the nose was a bit muddled and the fruit was muted as well. Eventually it opened up nicely. Solid zin but was hoping for a bit more

Dark red purple. Blackberry cobbler, red licorice, and raspberry herbal tea on the nose. Strawberries, raspberries and cherry, good acidity, flavorful but not over extracted and a tart berry finish with moderately persistent tannins. Young but drinking well. Had with ravioli, pizza snd then chili. Held up well with all three.

Dark fruit--blackberry, prune--on the tip of the tongue. "Thick" mouthfeel. Some herb--basil, parsley mid-palate. Very nice acid tartness and still stiff tannin add to typical Zinfandel expectation.

A nose of bold sweet black cherry and spice, dark garnet in color. A full bodied Zin, with black cherry and smoky peppery flavors, jammy with a long finish. Always good every year. www.winelx.com

I like lighter style Zins and structured balanced ones. But this one was a bit flat for my taste. Drank over two days so I don’t think time will help it.

Really tasty zin with great fruit and nice fine tannins. One of our 2015s with ashes on the bottle to remind us how fortunate we are to be able to drink such great wine year after year. We’re lucky that Carlisle avoided the damage and can still deliver such joy.
OK, enough of the heartstrings. This is simply a wonderful wine that delivers pepper and black cherry in abundance. Tannins are defined enough to show this wine has some good age left if you’re patient.

This bottle needs a few more years laying down or a very healthy decant of 3+ hours. Given time it opens up and you are rewarded, but I think the patient oenophile will benefit the most.

Rose petals and strawberry on the nose, cherry in the mouth, but it needed nearly three hours open to be ready to drink. Potentially much better than 91. Try again in 2021.

Pulled from cellar and PnP at 60 degrees. “Wow” first taste tho closed nose. An hour later closed down and then blossomed again. Good nose, bramble, dark fruit good acidity. Excellent!

Nose of luxardo cherries, strawberry, cranberry and like many Carlisle wines, the nose has the "ocean breeze" at the end. Taste has noticeable acidity that balances the big fruit somewhat. Cherry licorice (twizzlers) and some dark, brambly fruit. It finishes with both firm tannins and then the zing of acid that seems to be the hallmark of Carlisle's style.
In honesty, this is a good wine, but feels a bit off kilter. There is the huge, dark bedrock fruit (I am surprised the Mourvedre % is not greater), but then the more fresh Carlisle style that just don't play as well together in this instance.
It is puzzling how discrepant the reviews of this wine are. They range tremendously in terms of the descriptors and evaluation. Maybe that is inter-bottle variation, but I also wonder if its just a bit of uncertainty about what this wine is conveying. Its trying to do a lot of things, but not sure it totally pulls that off.

First time having anything from the Bedrock vineyard. Decanted and drank. Aromas of mulberry, boysenberry, raspberry and black pepper. Flavors of raspberry, mulberry, blueberry and raspberry. Ends with a raspberry infused finish of 35+ seconds. Definitely is unique from the other Carlisle wines in the lineup.

Not sure about this one. Upon opening the nose was reminiscent of a Gamay Beaujolais. Very strange. Strawberry jam and almost a saline scent. That faded a bit with a decant and some other red fruit emerged. Good, but not my favorite at all.

Definitely a more broad shouldered and rhone styled blend, copious amounts of deep fruits, with macerated cherries and blackberries dominating, some zesty pepper and licorice. It opened up really nicely but didn't develop that many secondary flavors while in glass, but continued to feel more viscous and almost syrupy. I was surprised the nose was so subdued. I would hold for at least another year before drinking any of you have them, think it should be a nice long ager from this vineyard.

PNP and consumed over three hours. It's 89% Zinfandel, 7% Mourvèdre, and 4% mixed blacks. But it tastes more like a 50% Zin and 50% mixed blacks. Olives and black fruit show more than red berry and all-spice. Tad bit tart. Reasonably well balanced and good acidity makes for a mouth watering finish. Tannins only slightly grabby and the finish is not too dry. Probably best when paired properly with food instead of a strand alone sipper. It's till young too and more time in cellar is advised. 91-92 range.
