Drinking beautifully soon after opening. Previous notes say it all, really. It offers complexity, a broad range of flavours that change and evolve with time, with enormous character. It delivers well beyond its price point and fully deserves to be cellared for years after release. Lovely wine which has lots to give over quite a few years, yet. Just as good next day. Beautiful sweet fruit, spice, food-friendly tannins all knitting together nicely.

Deep ruby with some discolaration on edges. Intense aromas of ripe plums, figs, raisins, like amarone. Full bodied, bit sweet, balanced with acidity. Feeling of alkohol heat. Feels soft with silky tannins and fresh.

Notes as before - drinking very well but even better with time as it opened over 3-4 hours. Superb with a ‘Persian Chicken’ dish including pomegranate seeds, sour cherries, and spices.

I wonder if differences between barrels - our case was from Majestic in the UK. My notes mostly in line with JOHNRM but Grenache to the fore underlaid with very pronounced vanilla and figs. Barely a speck of sediment on decanting Got a conversation going. Interesting (and enjoyable) now but no hurry.

Attractive when first opened and tasted but, based on past experience of the Pere et fils, the bulk of the wine was kept overnight and drunk next day. Good colour, rich, with spicy, sweet, mainly black cherry fruit and with attractive and subtle 'raisin' notes. As in January 2019, the wine showed complexity and excellent acidity which contributed to the remarkable length. The tannins are soft and totally integrated. This is drinking well now but will last. Once again, it is worth saying that there was a heavy deposit so best decanted. A second bottle opened at a celebration was better after 30 hours. Well worth 91 but don't be afraid to give it a day or more to get the best out of it. It softens and sweetens without losing its complexity and character.

I had this next to the 2011, and found the 2012 to have the syrup-like Amarone profiles that other mentioned. The 2012 seemed to have the same vanilla and black fruit notes as the 2011, but much more driven by jammy fruits (figs) and dried fruits (raisins). Seems odd to have such a difference b/w the 2 years....

Very rich, complex and long with plenty of spice and 'sweet' fruit. Excellent now but still young with years of life ahead. Quite a lot of deposit so best decanted.

Good value for 29$ cad. But too syrup like for me. Like an Amarone. Alcohol well balanced with acidity. However 15.4% not enjoyable for me. Never had a cincault dominant wine. Not my bag.

Very tasty and well-made blend of 50% Cinsault, 30% Grenache, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Carignan. Southern-Rhone-like, with very good balance and exotic East-Mediterranean spice market aromas. Medium acidity, tannins and alcohol. Drinking well at six years of age, with several more good years on the horizon.

A little fumey, and a little syrupy (though it's a little warmer than ideal), but despite these it's a lovely balance of red fruit, fig, leather and subtle spice.

After three days in a half empty bottle it’s very ripe, smooth and balsamic indeed. Verging on overripe and jammy but got just enough acidity to avoid being cloying. The sweetness of the plums and black cherries as well as nutmeg and other spices plus a bit of dried raisins reminds me even a bit of an Amarone. But this may well be the long contact with oxygen. Very enjoyable nevertheless even in such state.
Normally a little sweet but awesome with mustard, sugar glazed gammon. Dry with medium + acidity, figs, raisins, prunes, cinnamon, nutmeg and black plum with a long finish.

Wines of Lebanon (SF): Very nice! Floral red fruit with some deep warm blackberry. Hints of oxidation and leathery Brett, faint hint of stewed pepper and Cesar pyrazines. Slight balsamic and slight VA. A baby Musar. Has some Grenache. Seems lighter and more transparent. Medium plus body elevated alcohol nice med plus acid med tannins. Softer than the Musar.

MSheridan explained me I've made a mistake on 6/12 2017 by giving a note to a Château Musar. He was right, because at that time only the Hochar was released, so sorry for the mistake and read Hochar at the concerning tasting note.

MSheridan, your right! this time I tasted the Hochar 2012 and the wine showed very well, very classic, lots of minerals, a good concentration and lovely bitters in the elegant aftertaste.

Either this settled down quickly, or the previous bottle was slightly off.
Very rich fruit, fig and tar nose, rare I'd describe a nose as luscious, but it fits rather well here.
The palate also reflects that sweet fruit / fig with some faint bitterness helping the moderate acidity and soft tannins to keep it in check.
It doesn't feel like a long-term wine, but is a bundle of fun now, so the question of longevity feels a little spurious. Very good enjoyment for the money.

At this stage just a little raw / spiky, but with good acidity and firm yet subtle tannins, plus decent depth of interesting fruit, I have some confidence this will blossom in 2-3 years.

This wine reminds me of a fig newton cookie & just as chewy. Super dense bing cherry, dried fig & prune fruits, velvety tannins, leather-y with damp soil: tertiary characteristics are already showing in this 2012(!) vintage of #ChateauMusar Père et Fils.

As usual well made, some sweetness in the start, than the family style ripeness, but always without being overripe, showing elegance and friendly power.
Jamed strawberryes, candy, sweet Candy, warm sweet candy, purple flesh, juicy purple, meaty, super intigrated, and mellow. This wount hold up for years but at least for 5-8 years

Sweet aromatics and red berries continue onto palate.
Broad dry tannins underlie the fruit sweetness, moderate acidity, very long finish.
Completely different animal from the straight Musar
