Drinking beautifully soon after opening. Previous notes say it all, really. It offers complexity, a broad range of flavours that change and evolve with time, with enormous character. It delivers well beyond its price point and fully deserves to be cellared for years after release. Lovely wine which has lots to give over quite a few years, yet. Just as good next day. Beautiful sweet fruit, spice, food-friendly tannins all knitting together nicely.

Deep ruby with some discolaration on edges. Intense aromas of ripe plums, figs, raisins, like amarone. Full bodied, bit sweet, balanced with acidity. Feeling of alkohol heat. Feels soft with silky tannins and fresh.

Notes as before - drinking very well but even better with time as it opened over 3-4 hours. Superb with a ‘Persian Chicken’ dish including pomegranate seeds, sour cherries, and spices.

I wonder if differences between barrels - our case was from Majestic in the UK. My notes mostly in line with JOHNRM but Grenache to the fore underlaid with very pronounced vanilla and figs. Barely a speck of sediment on decanting Got a conversation going. Interesting (and enjoyable) now but no hurry.

Attractive when first opened and tasted but, based on past experience of the Pere et fils, the bulk of the wine was kept overnight and drunk next day. Good colour, rich, with spicy, sweet, mainly black cherry fruit and with attractive and subtle 'raisin' notes. As in January 2019, the wine showed complexity and excellent acidity which contributed to the remarkable length. The tannins are soft and totally integrated. This is drinking well now but will last. Once again, it is worth saying that there was a heavy deposit so best decanted. A second bottle opened at a celebration was better after 30 hours. Well worth 91 but don't be afraid to give it a day or more to get the best out of it. It softens and sweetens without losing its complexity and character.
