We enjoyed this Sardinia IGT wine composed of 85% Carignano, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Merlot. It's drinking quite smooth now with lovely flavors of woody herbs, vanilla, stewed red fruit, black pepper and liquorice The long tasty finish has refined tannins. Should continue to drink well for a few more years.

This is a very pleasant bottle of wine. Certainly still has tannin and will go years, but rich fruit is well balanced and at least for me not overly raisiny or high octane. Would gladly buy again and especially at the $28 paid for these

Decanted 2 hours. This wine seems to be still in it's journey. Has a plummy raisin fruit, pepper, cedar and grippy tannins that went well with our home made pizza. Definitely a wine that needs food. We can see this continuing to improve over the next 5 years.

Not the best vintage of this wine. The 15% alcohol is totally not in check, resulting in a warm and unbalanced wine. Comes across as a supermarket spanish or new world red, but deeper and with more fruit. Not my cup of tea

After 2 years in cellar this is showing well, with balanced complexity similar to other favorable TNs and critical reviews ~91-93 pts. Nice value play plus pairedwell with Ital/Med cuisines. Better on Day 2 and appears to have enough structure to last 2+ yrs.

A big, warm, juicy Sardinian red from the folks who brought you Saccicaia. Well made and deserving of the pedigree although maybe not the full list price -- great QPR at anything under US$30. In a very different style from Tuscan reds, with big, round mouthfilling fruit. Verging on pruney and possibly starting its downward slope at last tasting, but holding on to my last bottle to see what happens.

Plums, chocolate - on opening I thought I smelt a bit of mint but it’s not there now. There’s a sour cherry note as well. It’s not a shy wine, obviously well made and well balanced despite the alcohol. What it lacks though is complexity. The finish is far too short for a wine at this price point. It was best on opening, five hours in the decanter has done this no favours. Drink it up, with Pizza on Wednesdays if required.

On opening somewhat restrained nose, but there is definite dark cherry/raspberry notes. Palette is solid with well-integrated fruit and a good tannin and acid balance, with great mouthfeel. Pleasant bitter almond finish, somewhat reminiscent of dolectto. Overall, a very nice drink. Doesn't reach the heights of exceptional, but solid and a pleasure to enjoy. price was moderate (seems to go for $40-50 , so not a cheap wine-I purchased on sale for $25-)

One hour in the decanter so far. Very aromatic, with black and blue fruits, garrigue, and almost a bittersweet chocolate aspect. Medium- tannins and medium acidity hold the fruit salad (black plums and blueberries) together--more garrigue here too. Good initial attack and mid-palate. The finish is not strong, but moderately long. The CT drinking window of 2017-2024 seems about right.

This is right up my alley for an every-day easy drinking wine of good quality that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Is in it's drinking window and is good on the fruit but not sure if I will keep it beyond that.

Tasting note 4,400: A full bouquet of dark creamy fruit, juicy, power, but not much complexity. In the finish even a bit hefty; overall a wine with an interesting bite.

PNP. Dark purple, very Cabernet look to it. Tasty wine. Pepper, fresh cheese, a hint of chocolate. Soft, and round mouth feel. Medium minus acid. Drinking very well right now. I would like to try again.

Complex, pine needles at the start, giving away quickly to notes of pepper and dark fruit, ripe cantaloupe, fig jam, resolving into a nice long -very long! - finish. Medium tannins, somewhat untamed. I would recommend aging for another few years, to get this into a more integrated spot. Also, decant for at least one hour prior to consumption - this is a wonderful wine that improves greatly with aeration.

Decanted and served. Young but in no way austere or angular and actually very much approachable now and in its drinking window. Good ripemrich fruit, dark frutis light oaky dynamic on the back ground, firm but not harsh tannin and very good acidity. Very solid 89

Simultaneously rustic and elegant. Black currant aromas, occasionally revealing dried fruit and fresh herbs. Medium bodied generally fresh dark fruit, with a beginning, middle and end, fine tannins and notable oak vanillin. Drinks like a clean, classically styled Zin in many ways. Very good, just a bit of added complexity and slightly less fruit ripeness from excellent.

I have never had a Carignan wine in the past so trying to rate this is different than the classic Bordeaux for me. I found it rough around the edges, but good body and distinct, smoky flavor. Solid finish. I would pair this with pork spare ribs or a heavier meat based dish like an Osso Bucco. I am not clear on what Sardinian cuisine is, but assume this would match well.

Dusty and smokey and powerful stuff. A gacimo tachi project. new french and then a blend which I missed due to goofing off on my computer. 90% Carignano. So there it is.

Strawberry plum fruit. Mild tanins. Very smooth and drinking great now.
Enjoyed with Ceaser salad and chicken scaparella. Also some of Jens chicken parm. lol.
I have 3 more bottles which I will enjoy while peaking and at the price point totally a value!
