Not a bad wine to drink on a warm day, but definitely not going to blow you away. A little more earthy than a typical rosé. Started with it cold, but better a little warmer. Fairly nondiscript flavors.

Pleasantly drier than I remembered from early last summer; possibly bottle variation but hopefully the effect of eight additional months of integration. Provence-like in color and measured tone, with a clean refreshing finish.

An American wine with amusing French allusions. The color is what the French call "gris" when applied to rosés made in the Rhone valley or Provence (which is not grey but the tinge of a ripe apricot), and the "cigare" is not an aroma but a reference to the "cigare volant" (= flying saucer) which was supposed to have landed in 1954 outside the town, north of Avignon, of Chateauneuf-du-Pape (and which was subsequently prohibited from parking there by village ordinance). Check out this link for the entire hilarious story: https://vinepair.com/wine-blog/chateauneuf-du-pape-ufo-wine-law/ The wine itself is an allusion to the delicious pale, dry, fruity rosés of the region made primarily of grenache and mourvedre that one drinks all summer in the south and southwest of France. We paired it with broiled Alaska salmon but it would be delicious on a hot day with almost anything.

Almost peach in color. Honeysuckle and tangerine nose. Had a bit of fat/heft to it for 30 minutes upon P&P, settled down to beautiful citrus and melon, still a small acidity on the finish.

What an impressive showing from the ‘16 Vin Gris de Cigare. Produced from Grenache, Carignane, and Mourvedre along with a portion of white Rhone varieties. The nose was gorgeous and with ripe strawberry, plum, and roses. On the palate, I found a soft and inviting display of sweet cream offset by citrus rind and zesty acids, ripe strawberry and red inner floral tones. It finish long with a saturating mix of fruit, citrus and a zing of brisk acidity. Yum!

Medium nose shows strawberry, white cranberry, white flowers, grapefruit, wet stone and minerality. Palate gives similar notes and a very nice salinity or seashell feel. Similar fruit, and this is more about that acidity and mouthfeel, which is very well done. Nice complexity for the $.

Well, I like this one better than most other reviewers but that is true of most dry roses. Full of raspberry and strawberry with some mineral and maybe even some herb.

Color is about the only thing right about this. Non-descript nose (expected at least some strawberry). Mishmash of flavors on the palate that one of our guests described as cherry cough syrup-lite. Never again.

There is a lot to discuss here. A kitchen sink blend of many red varieties, and even a few white. About half the character and essence of this rose is "Old World" earthy and mineral. The other half, is California big ripe richness. Mouth coating viscosity. Bright fresh fruit, but also a delicate smoothness. Totally dry. Seamless acid. This wine is not about picking out individual fruit or non fruit flavors, but more about he overall balance.

Popped and poured on the patio with friends/appetizers. Enjoyable. No formal notes taken.
