Now 8 years after the harvest, the wine is clearly past its peak. The wine was still enjoyable but the fruit has faded and given way to tertiary notes of age - for me, the note of solvents and nail polish remover was a bit too dominant. If you still have bottles of this vintage in the cellar, I would suggest to drink them quite soon.

Simple sweet and spicy cherry flavors. A little earth and a slight background funk that add to the earthiness. Rich, with a nice medium plus body! Nice change of pace and did the trick with some pasta and meat sauce!

Vinny served several bottles. I had a glass from each. Some variation. The first bottle, which had been open for a while, was smooth and ready to go. Other bottles which had not been decanted showed a little more tannin. Mostly dark cherry. Shy nose. Short finish. Went well with and without food. Unlike the Ducale of yester year which was made to live decades, this wine must be enjoyed within a few years of the vintage. Drink up.

Perfumed powder and mild funk Red cherries, macerated strawberries, and tobacco Good acid/fruit balance to make it great with our sausage, peppers, and pasta with marinara sauce Moderate finish

From a 375ml bottle that was aired ca 1 hour. Pleasant nose of funk, some oak and a bit of red fruit. Medium bodied, very supple with smooth and gentle tannins, delivering mellow red fruit with a nice umami aspect and a tad of funk and oak. A great quaffer. This is solid stuff every vintage.

Second Sunday Group: 2015 Chianti Classico Riservas (Eagle Brook CC): Blind. Light ruby red color. Cherry, florals and a hint of earth underneath. Nice fruit- cherry dominates- with good underlying acidity. Becomes more perfumed as it sits adding a powdery note reminiscent of grandma's face powder. Cedar and red berry fruit. Very pleasant.

PnP. A bit of initial funkiness on the nose which blows off to reveal bits of cherry and earth. The medium bodied palate shows dried cherries, earth, a touch of tobacco, food friendly acidity, and just a touch of tannin. Could hold for another year or two. A perfect match for a sausage and mushroom pie from Joe's.

It’s super jammy in the glass dominated by cherries and plums. Very fruit forward, but not in a bad way. The color is garnet to crimson.
Loads of berries and dried cherries fades to a smooth classic Chianti. Tannin is present but reserved. Finishes with some leather and hints of tobacco.
Totally worth the price if you can find it grab it now.

Average Chianti acidic not tannic light / medium fruit. Good with Italian tomatoes sauce meals. Not the best for the price but your paying for the name Ruffino. Found for $15 so not bad.

Six from Safeway (Private home in Arlington, Virginia): Tasted blind, and I could hardly detect an aroma. The palate was like a canoe : close to water. After I saw that it was the well selling Chianti brand, from a ripe vintage like 2015 to boot, I was wondering, "What the Hell?" I do hope that this was just a faulty bottle and not what consumers get normally...

Medium body, bright ruby color. Intense wild berries, tobacco and herbal notes aroma. Dominant fresh cherry and long juicy finish. Dry, light and easy drinking, simple but well balanced, lovely berries acidity and silky tannins. Food friendly, best match is ravioli with mushrooms and pesto. Serve 16º - 21º. Open about two hour ahead. Drink now while young and next five years.

Yuck what a disappointment. I bought a few 2015’s from my local liquor store based on the excellent vintage thinking almost any of the $20 bottles should be very good. Well this wine did not deliver at all. Thin, sour weak and no way a Riserva bottling. We cooked a wonderful sausage and spaghetti squash dinner with homemade marinara and the wine didn’t come close to matching the meal.

Good solid Chianti at $15. Ample cherry flavors with some black fruit notes balanced by fair amount of acidity. Paired nicely with chili and also fine without food.

Dark shade of brick red with high optical density and reflectivity. Aromas are simple and decent in intensity, with dark cherry, garden soil, and tobacco leaf dominating and a hint of aromatic tar lifting things. Fresh acidity and lighter body on the palate, with an aqueous texture before the tannins dry things out with some strong grip. Flavours on the attack of mostly red fruits with some hints of black. Dark cherry, plum, and tart blackberries. The midpalate picks up smoked meats and oaky spices with some fresh juicy tobacco. Toward the finish, some tart fruits provide a twist into a finish of dried leather and cherry pit. There is an overall pretty good intensity and things lean toward a red fruits, but still a lot of influence from darker fruits for sure. As well, it is pretty simple and easy to drink with plenty of oak. Not over-the-top oak here, but certainly a modern use of oak.
This is a decent, international-styled modern Riserva that is a good value. Fresh and vibrant with some deeper things going on, but not a high level of complexity- just enough to gather a bit of interest, but dependent on the interplay between the oak and the varieties used here. Balance is decent, but on the bigger and dryer side- a robust and modern CCR well-suited as a food wine.

Better than I remembered it. Ruby color, medium bodied and bursting with cherries, a hint of strawberry, and tobacco. Perfect for a summer bbq. Great balance of fruit and acidity and not too heavy. 13.5% ABV. 91 pts.

PnD 3/4 of the bottle. Let air for 90mins.
Clear medium ruby.
Clean. Medium intensity with aromas of sour cherry rosemary sage Parmesan rind cola and strawberry.
Dry. Medium alcohol. Medium(+) acidity. Medium body. Medium intensity with flavours of sour cherry pleasantly bitter herbs and cola.
Medium finish. Drink now not suitable for further ageing. Lacks a bit of depth and finish that you want in a Riserva.
