Took about 4 hrs to stablize the palate, though the nose was beautiful right aftet the opening. Rich dark fruit nose, leaves, dirt, oriental spice with dirt and leaves. Coarse texture and decent acidty. A little bitter aftertaste makes me hesitate to fully appreciate this bottle. Very good wine overall, but tbh, I prefer the normale to this one.

Light red in colour, great acidity giving this wine a wonderful freshness, nose of rose pedals, little tar and leather notes but mostly red fruit flavours primarily of raspberry, lingering length. Starts slightly tart and then transgress into a softer broader tasting wine with a wonderful sweetness So good at this stage but loads of potential. This wine does not clobber you over the head but instead slowly entices you and grabs your attention glass by glass as you finish your bottle.

Great wine but drank side by side with the standard PdB bottling (albeit from 2015, not 2014) and at half the price, I'd recommend that over this reserva. I'm glad I tried the Pora though, just to see how good PdB could make a wine. Great stuff.

Agree this is drinking well albeit still young. Nose is just beautiful with cherry, herbs, red fruit. Palate is medium bodied, sour cherry, riper red fruit as well. Herbs, earth with lots of complexity and a long finish. Cannon still definitely present and some good Ripping acidity giving this great structure. I always do love Pora.

Drinking really well already in a youthful way. Deep core of dark fruits and well behaved tannins. Im sure this gets technically better with further age, but Im enjoying it already.

Medium red color. Tar, roses, and fresh red fruit notes in the bouquet. Delicious now though will hold and evolve several years. Flavorful, yet elegantly styled, this lovely wine shows a slightly crisp aftertaste.

The nose is perfumed and heady after a few hours of air. There is a lovely coolness to the tones of raspberries, fresh picked berries, mint, violets, rose petals, crushed rocks, licorice, and spice notes. The Medium/full bodied feel is deft and balanced with tart, high acidity and youthful(yet silky), high tan. This is really pretty right now as it leans more to the perfumes and elegance. There could be some more resolution on the palate, but this really feels ready to go.

I have to agree with the other reviewers this is just too young and tight at the moment. Even after 3 hours of decanting, it barely budged. The fruit, tannins and acid are there, but it is completely shut down. Won’t open another one for a while.

Still pretty tight---uncorked in the morning, decanted around 6pm and it tasted quite shy still, for at least another hour. Good acidity and earthiness, but several years away from developing secondary and tertiary notes.
Sadly I did not take any notes, but remember this being outstanding. Very approachable with fine tannins that are already well integrated, bright red fruits, rose petals and tar, some tertiary notes starting to develop. Clearly suitable for further ageing and will develop more tertiary complexity with time, but can certainly be enjoyed now.

Opened for 4 hours. Color is fairly deep ruby for a Barbaresco. On the nose: Cherry, licorice, tar and rose. On the nose: Tart cherry, rose and some licorice. This is just ok. It’s a bit lean and thin. I expected better.

a little lean (closed??) on night one, a little less so on the palate on night two... and on night two the nose was very flamboyant (which is something for me to say as rarely as I can even smell anything on wines)

Vinetasters: 2013 Produttori horizontal et al. (Skokie, IL): Served double blind. Good concentration with cherries on the palate and nose, even if the aromas are initially muted and don't become expressive without some coaxing. Some air reveals some plummy notes as well. Ripe, darker complexion. I thought this might have been a 2009 (or even a 2006 normale) given the riper, darker fruit profile, even though the acidity feels brighter than that.

Excellent! Will not repeat my previous notes. Refreshing, tasty wine that keeps getting better every bottle. Great balance and a wonderful sweetness and length! This lasted 3 days with No degradation just a great softness, sweetness and great fruit flavours. Bravo

The wine is clear, with medium garnet color, and watery rims. On the noes the wine is clean, with medium plus aromas of cherries, plums, mushrooms, wet floor, mineral notes, oak spices and olives. On the palate the wine is dry, with medium plus acidity, medium plus ripe green tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus flavors of purple fresh fruits, plums, dried fruits, dried fig, and mushrooms. The wine is of an excellent quality, due to its long finish, complexity, and depth. Although being a bit closed at time of tasting, it is appealing and enjoyable now and can benefit from further aging, as the tannins will be soften and more integral.

Tasting Ground official tasting, 2014 Produtorri del Barbaresco Riserva cru (Oinoscent): Slightly bigger than Rio Sordo, the fruit is beautiful, ripe red cherry, a bit of bread crust The palate shows its sunny side, nice crisp red fruit, a touch earthy, medium acidity, a touch hot, red currant and cherry, medium tannins, medium body and finish. Silky smooth and elegant

Drank over 2 nights; medium ruby in color; slightly sweet tart red cherry, raspberry and cranberry; orange blossom, geranium and dried leaves. M- body, bright acid, with a finish of fine, grippy, tannins. M+ length. Really elegant wine but has more to give. Seemed closed up even on night two.

A very nice wine, on the meaty side of Barbaresco, with some prettiness. Rather open knit, fine typicity. Technically sound in all regards, yet equally underwhelming. Acid and tannin are rock solid, but the wine lacks appeal, notably in the form of substance that would allow it a long maturation curve. Many non-cru Barbaresco offerings of equal quality can be had for 2/3 the price, or so.
No reason not to enjoy bottles now, or over the next several years.

Pora is located closest to the Tarano river and was by the far the most underwhelming wine of the evening. This wine showed aromas of violets, roses, bright fruit of candied cherries, plums, and red peppercorns. The palate was bright and raw (love this descriptor) with tart red fruit and crushed florals, fine tannins but very high and somewhat aggressive acidity. The finish was subtle and easy. I was a little disappointed by the showing of this bottle and felt it did not live up to the 93-94 of the critics. Still a solid wine, but needs time, since it seems in a weird place right now. 91+
2nd bottle that I have opened in the past 6 months.. This has in a short period put on weight and has harmonized. Medium red, great acidity, slight tar/raspberry nose, abundant/ dominant fruit flavours with great length. There is a slight tannin taste that persists after the enormous fruit flavours dissipate. This is drinking so well at this early stage that it makes me wonder if I will wait to see how much better this is going to get over the next few years. Bravo!

probably would have benefited from a decant, but didn't have the time... very very nice red with great Barbaresco typicity, and 2014 typicity (which I like)... good acidity and lift, med bodied, easy drinking (but somehow nonetheless seemed like it could age for 10 or 20 years as well)... very '14 and very elegant... loved it

Medium / dark red, nose of raspberry and licorice, Great acidity, soft tannins, dark fruits lingering on the palate. A very easy drinking barbaresco more approachable than the 2013 . A great early drinking Pora . Long length of sweet tannins and fruit. A very enjoyable wine Left part of the bottle for a next day tasting.. Great acidity ,much softer/ rounder with lots of fruit on the palate. a wonderful wine!

As a decades-long fan of the Produttori, I was hesitant, upon a very knowledgeable friend’s advice, to open up a 2014. However, given the insight from an Italian sommelier friend —that, due to the absence of storage in Italian cities for many new upscale wine drinkers, many good producers are now Vinifying their wines to be ready to drink at a young age— I decided to move forward. Coravin’d And then decanted half the bottle, started drinking 45 minutes later and tasted for another 45 minutes. Bottom line? It can be drunk and is well made, but is a different wine. The Spora is lighter than the Asili or Moccagatta, and provides some pleasure in its core tobacco, sweet cherry, smoke and orange hue.
So I guess we are all getting accustomed the new normals. While I am not one of the semi-necrophiliac Nebbiolo fans who glamorize oxidized wine with visions sf grandeur, I am a huge fan of aged Nebbiolo, and of the rich, leather.rose, tar, smoky wood, dark rich cherry and auburn and orange hues that circumscribe each glass. Perhaps one day, this wine will be that.

Doug Frost (M.S., M.W.) picked this out for an Italian wine tasting in Florida. 100% Nebbiolo. Tannic (of course), not good without food. Notes of chocolate, a touch of smoke. Paler red color than you would expect from all the extracted flavor. Overall, I didn't love it as an example of Barbaresco but it certainly wasn't bad.

2018 Visit to Produttori del Barbaresco with Aldo and David: “Expressive aromatics” said David. I agreed, seeing notes of red and black cherries, violets and other dark florals. On palate, a gorgeous, attractive, elegant Nebbiolo I could drink with dinner tonight, I thought. “Big fruit” said Andrew. Vibrant and energetic. Svelte, spherical tannins. “Almost pinot-like”, said Aldo. Attractive minerality.
