Warning: drink this wine within a year. While acidity is still there, aromas dissipated since I last had it (last year?) nose is still great, even my wife liked it. I wonder if acidity is a little over the top.

Nose: Slightly peppery, but pleasingly so. Palate; bouquet of tart fruits, balanced tannins, over medium acidity, a slight bitter aftertastes as in chewing on pea shells that lingers on for a while. It is a very pleasing sipping wine. I’ll come back and update after the pot roast cooking how the pairing is.
One of my cellar defenders, didn’t expect whole a lot, definitely received more than I thought I’d get.
Edit: a combination of pot roast with sauce over pasta (a bit vinegary sauce). Pasta and sauce pairing: meh. Just beef: much better. As expected, the vinegar sauce killed the wine. Just the pot roast paired well.
Derinitely on the sweet side for a “dry” red, with not quite enough tannin or acid to make it work. Really nice full fruit flavor, mostly red and blue berries, and some good secondary flavors as well.

Taste Trendy Blends (San Diego Wine Co.): 29% Merlot, 26% C.S., 22% Syrah, 11% C.F., 3% Sangiovese, 2% ea Malbec, Petit Verdot, Grenache, & Mourvèdre, and 1% Counoise; 16 mos in oak; 0.60 g/ml T.A.
N: Fragrantly RIPE, smoke tinged berries
P: Med body; RNDISH entry with ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) met by some puckerish astringency which transitions into a LONG, bitter/swt finish with notes of smokingess to the dusty tannins. Might improve into Winter '19, then drink for 2-3 yrs more. 13.8% ABV; My VG+. 90 pts Suckling, 89 ea WA & Vinous, 88 WS, & 87 WE @ $16. This Bourdeaux type blend was excellent with all sorts and types of food. Mexican spicy, veggie burgers, and beef stew. just loved the taste.

A little boozy for my taste, Syrah and Malbec dominate this ripe, fruity red blend.

Pretty blah. 🙁 good enough to fill the need for a glass of wine, but not remarkable in any way.

Plum and berries. Deep and rich. A bit in the dry side, but not in a bad way. Very nice!

Good solid everday QPR. Dark fruit, medium tannins, smooth finish. Always a winner for Tamarack
