Opened 3hrs prior to dinner & slow ox in glass & btl the rest of the way. Semi translucent red. American Burgundy! Rose pedals, earth & light underbrush on the nose. The palate again is an earthy mix of red cherry, red raspberry, mineral & light underbrush. Drinking amazingly well! Energetic, weightless, honest & exceedingly well balanced. Its modest 13.5% alc goes unnoticed. 93pts+ Terrific! Kinda reminds of 2015s from Burgundy. Only 2 left, I need to hunt down the latest vintages.

PnP. Still a youthful ruby color. It's a little tight on pouring, but much more open than when I last tasted this in March 2021. There's cherry, raspberry, and strawberry, other red fruit, pie spice, slight forest floor, some minerals in the finish. Medium body, good acidity, integrated but noticeable tannins. It does seem to be slightly riper than the "typical" Eyrie style, but this still maintains the elegance I normally get from this producer. It seems like this is really just starting to open up. I have one more bottle left, and based on where this is now, I think it'd be wise to wait 3-5 years before opening the last one. There's no rush to drink this up. There are lots of new, excellent producers of OPN (whose wines I buy and love), but this is a good reminder that the folks who forged the trail are still making excellent wines.
Translucent crimson. Scents of rose petals and raspberry are delicately poised on the nose. Medium bodied with silky tannins, it's savoury, red fruited and approaching tertiary. Very pure and drinking like a dream.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like mineral and forest floor with some floral notes. It tastes like grapefruit and mineral and strawberry. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long with some herbal notes. The wine has medium acidity.

Just got a small pour of this and didn't jot down any notes. But like everything else I've had from Eyrie it was delicious, with primarily red fruit and a good acid backbone.

On the nose red cherry , lingonberry, Forrest floor/mushrooms, tobacco, leather. On the palate, medium body, medium plus intensity, high acid, fine medium tannins and medium alcohol. Very good balance, fresh and juicy. Medium plus finish. Very good/outstanding wine. Drink now, Will not improve by ageing but will keep for at least 5 more years.

On the nose, cherry and pomegranate, darker tart fruits, allspice or cinnamon sticks, and wet forest floor or damp basement. The tannins were fairly high and the acid was slightly strong. It will age well, I will let this sit for another 3-5 years.
I smelled this in the Rediel Pinot Glass, when I smelled it I the Rediel Cab glass, it was much creamier. It almost smelled like a starburst package.

Nose is all cherry, raspberry, strawberry, some pie spice, some earth and forest floor. Inviting and generous nose. Palate has similar fruit but seems a little shut down based on previous time I've tasted it (maybe 2 years ago). It is a warmer vintage but it has the typical litheness and elegance I expect from Eyrie. Medium+ acid and some grippy tannins make you remember that this will age nice. Opens more after a few hours and is very food friendly, but this really needs some time. I have a few more bottles and I'll try to wait until 2023-2025 and maybe longer.

Drank several nights ago as part of a vertical that included 2011 and 2013-2016. The 2015 and 2014 were both pretty shut down, and were outshone by the others on offer. This was true even on day 2. That said, I didn't sit down with a bottle of exclusively this wine all night.

Tasted after 2 hours of air. Medium/pale ruby color with some slight bricking at edge. Round red berry fruit sour cherries? Good balance. Nice balance. Medium finish.

An excellent rendering of Oregon Pinot. Translucent red color, but expressive nose of spice box, smoke, vanilla, sweet raspberries and strawberries.
Silky mouthfeel that is really well done, a little heat on the finish but in a pleasant and warming way, this is a wine very much held together with very good if not excellent balance. Easy to drink and easy to love.
Is it a little soft on the mid-palate? Too sweet? Yes, if you're grown up on the dry, acidic Jura or Burgundy reds, perhaps, but for a warm vintage in Oregon this is really elegant and in a way, compared to many of its peers, understated. But I would not perhaps save this for another ten years, as it is so expressive at this stage and drinking so well.
This is made from, I believe, grapes from their estate but also other vineyards, mostly in the Dundee Hills. It surely feels like a true expression of Dundee Hills to me. As their entry level Pinot Noir, It is priced at half the price of the Eyrie original vines PN, 20 % of the South Block reserve from the Eyrie vineyard, and at 2/3 of the other Dundee single vineyards they release.
In Sweden, where I live, it's priced at SEK 398, which is on par with for example Faiveley's Gevrey-Chambertin village (v.v.) and Jean Fournier's Marsannay Clos du Roy and a little higher than Domaine de la Vougeraie's Les Pierre Blanches Côte de Beaune, but below the Felton Road Pinot Noirs from New Zeeland.
Pairing suggestions for me would range from sushi to grilled chicken. But go easy on the soy sauce and spices.

Essentially same exciting btl as past Sept. PnP & slow ox in glass & btl for an hour prior to dinner. Semi translucent red. American Burgundy! Rose pedals, earth and light underbrush on the nose. The palate again is an earthy mix of red cherry, red raspberry, mineral and light underbrush. Drinking amazingly well! Energetic, weightless, honest and exceedingly well balanced. This is the real deal expression of PN on our shores for a very reasonable mid 30s price point. A respectable 13.5% alc goes unnoticed. 93pts+

Demure aromas of fruit, spice, and herbs. Full bodied, but not concentrated. Dark for a pinot. A bit of sweetness and fruit leaning towards cherries and kirsch on palate (less charitably: watered down cough syrup). Slight tannin, and slight acidity. Gains heft with air, fruit becomes more apparent. Fairly new world in style, though balanced. Decent value. Wish there was more earth and more structure. Simple and enjoyable.

Red fruited and crisp on the palate. On the lighter side but also simple. Finish is simple and one dimensional. Was hoping for a bit more at this price point—though this is perfectly fine and enjoyable now.

PnP & test sniff & sip decided to just further slow ox in glass & btl for a couple hours prior to dinner. Semi translucent red. Well this, as usual, is squarely in my wheel. American Burgundy! Rose pedals, earth and light underbrush on the nose. The palate again is an earthy mix of red cherry, red raspberry, mineral and light underbrush. Drinking amazingly well with a slightly mature profile. Energetic, weightless, honest and exceedingly well balanced. This is the real deal expression of PN on our shores for a very reasonable mid 30s price point. A respectable 13.5% alc goes unnoticed. I need to start laying away some of these for fully mature exploration. To date starting with some 10s I've only been drinking them near release because they almost always drink like they already 6-10yrs old. I'd like to drink this with 10yrs plus on it and see where it goes. Back vintages are rarely available. With salmon tonight and the "kids". Even Josh & Ana took note of this one.

This is bright, vibrant, and has a nose filled with high-toned red fruits, forest floor, with a hint of dried orange rind, and baking spice. The palate is brisk and leads with bing cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate. If you could imagine that you can smell the tension and balance that's a start...this is just so lovely for their base bottling in a warm year. This worked perfectly with pepperoni pizza. Outstanding.

Tasted at The Wine Society tasting of USA wines, held in London, UK. Orangey/cherry colour. Farmyardy nose, sweetish red fruit. The palate is rich and complex with spicy cherries, nutty, chewy, medium bodied, good length. A good wine, but perhaps a little pricey at £33.

Another delicious vintage of Eyrie; this is a bigger and riper style than I am used to from them, but still quite tasty; the nose shows ripe cherry, cranberry, orange peel, baking spice, and a hint of floral and leaf litter notes; the palate has very good depth and is richer with a bit more structure than many other Eyrie vintages I've had previously. Should develop beautifully, but also drinks nicely now.
