Several Champagnes tasted first, then the red wines, followed by the white wines. Notes are in the sequence of the tasting sheet, not the sequence tasted.
Tasting, brief note. More black > red fruit with background spice. A clear step up vs 2016 Dundee, this has better density with good balance and restraint. Good+ length.
Tasting, brief note. Intriguing combination of Cabernet lushness and Cab Franc horsey complexity. Lots going on here with plenty of nuance. Better to cellar a year or three.
Tasting, brief note. Elegant start with moderate weight, this picks up density middle-through-finish, but also gets more structured. Lots of great stuff here, but not quite zen yet.
Tasting, brief note. Big fruit on nose and palate to start, seemingly large scaled in a rather challenging vintage. More edge middle-through-finish with firm structure. Good now, some possible upside.
Tasting, brief note. Black and blue fruit, burly and meaty with background spice. Good+ density for its level and price. Better to cellar another year or two.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Tasting, brief note. A very exciting wine, even if not openly / easily accessible right now. Dense cross-section of black fruits with impressive length. Some faint barnyard notes I expect from Châteauneuf, but without anything imbalanced. This needs time, but clearly has top shelf potential.
Tasting, brief note. Very light style, so nicely elegant. Red cherry everywhere with moderate weight and very good textures, ending with sneaky good+ length. A style of wine I am likely to enjoy more than most.
Tasting, brief note. Not quite as light/ bright as "Sisters," but with more weight and structure. Elegant red cherry start-to-finish with lighter aromas and more weight coming through on palate. Finishes with surprising grip Good now, but I anticipate upside.
Tasting, brief note. Not my favorite of the lineup, this is riper and richer, but nowhere near the complexity or textural nuance. I can see others enjoying this wine more than I would.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet
Tasting, brief note. Rich orchard fruit throughout with faint tropical hints. Good+ depth and concentration, good length. Ever-so-slightly sweet finish.

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Floral with rich orchard fruit throughout, some faint tropical hints. Very dense from start-to-finish with a minerally finish I enjoy a lot. Better in another year or two.
Tasting, brief note. Rich red fruit with impressive density for Villages along with hints of braised meat. Very good for its level. Better to cellar for a few years.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Tasting, brief note. Bright red fruit on nose and palate to start, getting darker/ blacker towards middle and finish. Very good+ length. Slightly backward right now, 91-92 point potential, 2025 forward.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet
Tasting, brief note. Baked apple and candied lemon rind aromas with fleshy, ripe apple and pear flavors. Good now, good young, good Villages level in general.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Ripe fruit and floral start, this comes across as easy and simple, right up through the more intense, mineral-flecked finish. Upside from here?
Tasting, brief note. Black cherry throughout with some faint roasted meat. Balanced and elegant with very good length. Good+ now. I like this even more today vs when last tasted one year ago.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
Tasting, brief note. Floral start with perfume along with red and black cherry. Starting to show early stages of evolution in a charming fashion, wrapping up with nicely elegant textures. Good+ weight and length. Upside from here.
Tasting, brief note. Cross-section of cherry aromas and flavors with good balance and length. Not quite as exciting today vs when last tried (pre-release), but this probably needs more cellar time. Cellar to 2020-.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Black and burly, this comes across as more "Nuits St Georges" and less "Vosne" than typical for Boudots. Lots of power throughout, ripeness mostly clear on finish. Very good length, even if not quite yet enjoyable. Needs at least another decade in the cellar.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Tasting, brief note. Black cherry and plum with some roasted meat and savory spice. Very good weight and density for its level. Fun already with upside from here.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey St. Denis 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Rich cross-section of red and black cherry with good+ density and length for its level. Finishes with particularly good finesse and textures. Good already now with further upside.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru
Tasting, brief note. Ripe black and plum aromas with some braised meat. Both black and red cherry flavors come across as both dense and well balanced. Getting close to its peak drinking window, definitely 90+ point potential.
Tasting, brief note. This is a real powerhouse with mostly black fruit and almost as much savory spice. Very refined already, very long, balanced and persistent. 93-94 point potential.
Tasting, brief note. Slight reduction made this slightly tough to assess, but there is VG substance and weight here. A wine that certainly needs more cellar time.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet
Tasting, brief note. Apple and spice aromas get this off to a great start for its level. Similar flavors, but new oak needs a little more time to absorb. Cellar at least one more year.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Ripe apple and pear aromas and savory and sweet spice, plus floral notes. Similar flavors come across as ripe, then good minerality and tension middle-through-finish. Drinking very well already now.
Tasting, brief note. Red and black cherry with savory spice and elegant structure that seems Chambolle-like to me today. Good+ length. Another impressive vintage for Groffier Bourgogne.
Tasting, brief note. All black cherry comes across as firm and barely forthcoming right now. This hasn't softened since i tasted it last year, so am less enamored.
Tasting, brief note. Red and black cherry throughout with an elegant start, then sneaky structure and length. Background spice comes out most clearly on finish. This has picked up weight since last tasted one year ago.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges
Tasting, brief note. Black fruit with background Asian five spice. Both rich and elegance with good weight and length. slightly firm now, better to cellar until at least 2020-.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos St. Denis Grand Cru
Tasting, brief note. Red and black berries with lots of complexity already with its array of savory dried herbs and spice. Very good+ length and depth. Big and powerful finish, 93-95 point potential, 2025-.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru
Tasting, brief note. Black plum and cherry with beef notes and boeuf bourgignon spice. Burly, firm old school Chambertin, but with the substance to cellar easily for the couple of decades required. 92-93 point potential, 2030-.
Tasting, brief note. Blend of Welschriesling and Chardonnay, with the Welschriesling seeming to dominate. Floral, spice and lychee notes to start. Good depth. Simple, fun for now.
Tasting, brief note. Both fresh and dried apricot with lots of sweetness, spice and complexity. Very complex. Tasty now, certainly better in a decade. 92-93 point potential.
