Developed well since last tasting. Nose has introduced some woodsy and pastoral notes. Palatte developed into darker fruit: blackberry and plum. Finish is smooth with a slight and pleasant hint of tannins.

Day 1: Opened and poured and let stand in glass for 3/4 hr. Easy entry and generally smooth, except the finish was mostly low level drying tannin. Some fruit, but only a hint of grenache. Pleasant, but nothing particularly distinctive. If tasted blind, I probably would have guessed CDR, but mostly by default. Day 2: Pretty much the same, except no drying tannin on the finish; and maybe another slight hint of grenache. A bit more pleasurable, but still not distinctive. Expected more from this.

I have been a fan of this estate and cuvée for awhile. Grenache flavours dominate yet a touch of Syrah and Mourvèdre for complexity. Tough to beat for the price and will develop nicely over time. I am still enjoying some 2010s now that remain fresh and complex.

Bright cherries, medium bodied, moderate tannins but with youthful grip, flavors linger nicely, aromas that greet the nose with each sip. I think this will be pretty good tomorrow too.

Medium Garnet collar; tart red fruit and spice aromatics; soft and smooth red fruit flavors, medium bodied, virtually no acidity; nice lingering finish. This makes a good sipping wine. Alc. 15%.

Two hours in this seemed cloyingly extracted, to the point where I could ingest it only after very small sips... The kind of wine that would easily receive an extra 2 points from RP & Co. 15% ABV. 88-89
Consistent. Bright red fruit, vanilla, earth. Big bodied with some assertive tannins. This particular bottle had a nice mineral element that I didn’t pick up in the last one. Again, a great value.
Day two update: the tannins lost some of their grip, allowing the right red cherry flavors to really shine. Definitely better balanced—I’d say it’s 91-92 after a night open.

Pretty muscular for a CdR, with red fruits, spice and some stones. This is big, rustic and chewy. Surprising amount of grippy tannins that makes this hard to get immediate enjoyment. A CdR to age?

Good color. Nose of strawberry/raspberry with floral hints. Palate was very closed and took over an hour to open slightly. More red fruit and some leather. A little heavy on the tannins. A bit young and seems to need more time to develop in the bottle.

Nice authentic package. Clear ruby color. Dark red fruit and alcohol aromas. Burnt cherry and juicy cranberry flavors with good acidity and a lengthy finish. Will improve.

Medium ruby-purple, viscous @15% abv. Medium(-) aromas of black fruits, leaves, overall closed. Dry, medium(+) acidity, medium tannin, high alcohol and medium(+) body. Palate of cherry, blueberry, licorice, leather and pepper. Slightly unbalanced, with alcohol heat and tannin providing a definite rustic character. Good length, needs more time to settle down.

Medium ruby, purple rim and slow-moving tears @15% Medium(-) aroams of black forest, leather, laurel. Dry, medium(-) acidity, medium, slightly chalky tannin, medium(+)-high alcohol with residual heat, full body. Rich cladding mouthfeel with a medium palate of blackberry, boysenberry, licorice and pepper. Focused, wel structured but could use some middle palate tension. Great length with a lively finish. A significant wine indeed. Excellent for a Cotes du Rhone, actually it is a closet Chateauneuf du Pape.

Any Old World wine lover will appreciate the charms of this medium ruby blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre. Sporting beautiful red and blue fruit accented with savory herbs, exotic spices and white flowers, it delivers its solid package in a medium-bodied, fresh, minimally oaked frame that somehow defies its 15% alcohol sticker (when served at the appropriate temperature of 60-65°F). The middle palate is dense and the medium length finish is vibrant. Enjoy this well-priced Rhone over the next 3-4 years. Drink now-2022.

Decanted for 3 hours and wow did that make a difference. Like a mini CDP on the palate, nose was still CDR so-so.
Can't wait for my next and last bottle now that I have (hopefully) unlocked the secret to this wine...
