WSET 3 - session 4 (Utrecht): [Blind tasted] Very expressive on the nose; black currant, cassis, clove, stewed black berry, leather, wet leaves, meaty. Medium acidity, medium tannins, long finish. Already developing quite nicely

Immediately very charming and classic on the nose. It smells like elegant Syrah should. After decanting for about an hour, the wine was properly open, and offered very elegant fruits, a balanced acidity, and no notable tannins. This went well with flank steak. Drink now or through the next five years or so.

Nose The wine is developing and exhibits pronounced aromas of black cherry, black plum, blackberry, black pepper, dusty gravel, sage and leather.
Palate The wine is dry, full bodied, with high acidity, medium (+) tannins, medium alcohol and exhibits pronounced flavors of black cherry, red cherry, blackberry, black plum, savory herbs, and vanilla.
Conclusion The quality of the wine is very good. It will benefit from further aging, but can be enjoyed now.

Served by the glass. Good memories of that 2001 bottle tasted in 2013. It maintains that abundance in the mouth and in the nose, that richness that mixes with an austere style that produces those notes of a dusty coffee of fruit filtered in wood.
Servida por copas. Recuerdos de aquella botella del 2001 abierta en el 2013. Mantiene esa abundancia en boca y en nariz, esa riqueza que se mezcla con un estilo austero que produce esas notas de un café polvoriento de fruta filtrada en madera.

La Tablee: Grand Tasting (26 Bridge Street, Brooklyn): More fruit driven wine than the Cote Rotie although I don't think it was overdone. There's a certain tartness to the wine which keeps it more restrained. Nice.

Steak with pepper sauce. Very good St Joseph, as always from Y. Cuilleron

第一次,气味尚可,但是并不十分充分,口中偏稀淡。接下来几次,一次比一次差。
