Yellow straw and ever so slightly green robe. Full body. Surprising it’s only 13.5pct as feels like could be 14.5-15%. Very balanced and enjoyable. Subtle pineapple notes and stone dust, very agreeable and round. Nicely balanced. Drinking beautifully. Not sure how long lived this will be.

Little reductive maybe? I don't mind, but moreso aged I think. And then just smooth richness to it. And crisp minerality on the back of the palate too.

Shades of golden raison color the wine glass sending up beeswax and verbena aromas laced with Tepache (fermented pineapple). The palate is rich with stewed fall fruit (persimmons marmalade) yet zesty with acidity, a touch of citrus pith, and a streak of chalk. Near unctuous mouthfeel. What a joy!

Complex nose, very intense and etheral. Fruit (quince , baked golden delicious , pineapple ), floral (acacia, apple blossom) and spice (Touches of cinnamon, honey , smoke and vanilla)
Rich and well balanced on the palate , with freshness, power and fragrances tickling your tongue and resorting to a smooth and intense finish.
Good to drink now.

Initially a bit too much butterscotch but gets a little more round and acidity driven with time. Quite ripe. Apple. Stewed fruits with lemon juice. A little fat. Ok

From magnum. A rich golden hue. Young, but with nice purity of color. Nose of ripe white orchard fruit (apple) and quite floral with notes of honeysuckle and citrus blossoms and a touch of wood. Slightly reduction/smoke as well. Quite open right now. On the palate, equally compelling with ripe white fruit, slightly notes of honey, but balanced with a fine medium bodied texture, good grip and density of flavor with an uplifting and balanced acidity. Some dry extract with good length on the finishing. Definitely drinking exceptionally well now, but should age well. Excellent.

very nice indeed, drank alongside the '14 Lafon Meursault Charmes... this held its own for sure on night one, tho when the Lafon opened up more on night two it wasn't a fair match... this is a go to wine for me in good vintages and this rang the bell again on this night

Reductive on opening, you eventually get a bit of citrus and an orchard full of stone fruits. Medium to medium plus body and acid. A seductive wine. Really phenomenal after a couple hours of air.

good bright young lemon color, on the nose lush and joyous, lemongrass, orange notes, a bit of cream already, apples, beeswax, on the palate a forward and luscious beauty- this is Beaune Clos des Mouches in full sail, it has the creamy and sunny presence of a 2014 but like a 2001 is also showing quite a bit of mineral and saline detail, the apple notes are very distinct this year, as are the orange tones, that slight caramel or burnt coffee note that is peculiar to this wine is present in measure appropriate to the scale of the wine, after recent notes for the quite fine, but also somewhat exaggerated, 2009 and 2010 vintages- this is a refreshing return to a more classic presentation with a little bit of everything- and all of it far more digitally defined and observable than is customary in such a young vintage, as on the nose- cream tones are already developing on the palate, fine long fragrant finish bursting with honeysuckle and blood orange notes, the only slight distraction is a noticeable trace of heat on the finish at first, after a couple of hours as the wine comes together it is less prominent but still there in some measure, otherwise a very fine vintage for this wine- and in these days where premox is still a worry, this is also a vintage that you can drink very young and see far more of the detail and excitement that usually comes only with age, this will surely outlive the 2010 but I am not sure it has quite the decades-long potential of the 2009, a joyful and magnificent drink- one to enjoy often throughout what promises to be a very rewarding life.
**(**)+?, now to 2037+, the ? mark is for the bit of heat on the finish, this is at least a 4 star wine in my book, but if that bit of heat is better integrated in time then this could become 4+ or 5 stars and one of the truly great vintages for one of Burgundy's most unique and notable wines. But whatever may come, if you share my love of Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches- don't miss the chance to enjoy a bottle or two of this now while you can see that rare display of youthful vigor combined with the subtle delights usually reserved for old age.
Has a rather full palate presence with ripe flavors of meyer lemon and lemon curd, bold saline mineral impressions, and a not so shy dollop of creamy vanillin oak. There’s a firmness to its underlying acidic freshness and oak tannin structure that counters the ripe fruit very well, giving good plus complexity and length. For all its boldness it’s very cohesive and together. Seems to be squarely in the Drouhin house style, and very good to excellent, though I wouldn’t recommend this to the ultra oak-averse. A classy wine that delivers pleasure and sophistication, yet one you don’t need to overthink.

pretty darn good, nice tension / med+ acidity but still a dash of the richness you might expect from this wine... this is a little more on the lemony side than I usually see in the bottling, but it had a very slight something (chemically?) taste on the palate in the background... I'm assuming that will go away with a year or two more in bottle, if not this goes to 91, if it hadn't been there this bottle would have been a 93 pt'er

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): Walk around tasting. Rich apple and pear with some candied lemon peel. Forward and almost fleshy with so much near-term appeal. Doesn't seem quite as precise as the few other times I've had this wine. but this is so delicious right now, 91-92 point potential.

Knightsbridge Annual Holiday Burgundy/Champagne Tasting and Sale (Northbrook, IL): Walk around tasting. Ripe apple and pear with a bit of candied lemon peel combine for a savory and sweet character I found very appealing. Very good density for 1er Cru with a slightly backward finish for now. One of the top wines of the day. 92+ point potential, 2025 forward with a long life from there.

Knightsbridge 11th Annual Burgundy and Champagne Tasting (Northbrook, IL): Very well done. Ripe but not with fruit that is over the top. Still fairly structural with good cut. A hint of oak on the finish adds a spicy touch, but doesn't otherwise detract from the wine. Excellent stuff (and I preferred this to the red).
