Didn't take good notes - bright, crunchy red fruit (strawberry, cherry) on nose/palate with some menthol thrown in for good measure on nose -Reminds me of a village level Beaujolais. This is not a re-buy for me. 87+/-

This bottle drank much better than the first. Kirsch, black pepper, arugula, salted plums. Juicy and fresh, this would go great with wood fired pizza with arugula on top, or a salad.

Drank over 2 nights - good on both. Medium red color. Mesquite, herbal, tart cherry and strawberry on nose/palate. Medium body, medium+ acidity, low tannins and long finish. Should age well given acidity - 90+/-
Not a re-buy but enjoyable.

This is maturing already. Almost no flesh left here. Opaque. The fruit still shows sweet and lively. Not quite Zinberry with all that other stuff bringing in there own contribution. Also making it darker fruited than straight Zin. A touch of green tartness hanging around that's a nice contrast to the sweeter fruit. Some stony earthiness comes out overnight. A wee bit of warmth. I'd say drink up though. There just isn't the fruit density for this to really show something well into a secondary phase.

"Lightish" red plum color. Somewhat fungal nose. Very bright red berries and some stone fruit tartness. Herbal--sage--suggestion under the rear palate. Medium bodied with an understandably mid-length finish. A fairly elegant Zin--certainly not the rustic mouth-filler that I could be. Especially, compared to the style of other vintners who source from this same vineyard.

Notes after following for 5 hours open. Light to medium ruby color, clear and sound, no sediment. Lightly perfumed nose of red fruit, seaspray, and a little bit of whole-cluster greenies. Light concentration on the palate, though it has some decent persistence/length, getting supported by light tannins, a generous minerality, and medium acidity. I guess I would give it good points for purity, though it’s also easy to describe this as thin or dilute. I don’t think it will please the masses or even the vast minority, only perhaps true AFWE geeks (I don’t carry a card but I go to the meetings;) 5+8+15+8= 86
I clearly got one of the light-bodied sour cherry wines. First glass was like one of those sour cherry sweet tarts. Next glass was several hours later. Acidity and bitterness moderated a bit. Never found the depth AG or some CT commenters talk about. Will lay down other bottles for a few years.

Light bodied with only sour cherries. After several hours if air some dark fruit and tannins started to make a appearance but there wasn’t enough there to save it. Not good.

This could have been a great wine; unfortunately, a lack of concentration and a a thin body distract and mar from what should have been an easy high “scorer”. Really unfortunate, given the consistently outstanding vineyard material.

Sour cherry, kirsch and bitter greens. If I had wanted sour and thin, I would have opened a Pinot Noir. I prefer my Grenache a little more generous and accessible. Decanting through a Vinturi helped some but not enough.
Edit: I'm a little slow to realize this is not dominantly Grenache, but rather a a field blend of 30 varietals. Would recommend having with lunch on a hot day.
Extremely light. AG called it “powerful and deep”. That is not the wine in my bottle. It almost tastes watered down. Initially it has some sour cherry but that was the only fruit. There is very little tannin. Nothing stands out.

Either my first bottle of this was flawed or another year in the bottle made a world of difference. I'm guessing it's the former.
Racy acidity balanced against red-fruit dominance. Lots of raspberry, pomegranate, and some pepper and possibly a hint of something like eucalyptus. Long, acidic finish.
This wine is singing after about 45 minutes in the decanter. Love this.
Took a flyer on this wine. Light to medium weight, a bit acidic at this point. Great perfumed nose. Balance is just a bit off but otherwise enjoyable. Will wait to see how this develops.

PNP with friends last night. Not bad and can see why some would like a more subtle take on CA Zin, but personally feels kind of like throwing away the exuberance we love in these wines and this fruit

Interesting - simultaneously light yet deep. Dark fruits, herbs and sticks. Quite mineral as others have noted. Similar on day 2 - the fruit is a little more clear. Overall this has a similar feel (with different characteristics) to a high end Beaujolais, which is rather refreshing coming from California.

This was very unique and very delicious. Bedrock Vineyard is one of America's real viticultural treasures, and this field blend from vines that are on average 120 years old is quite deeply pitched, savory and minerally. All that with silky tannins and only 12.6% abv, which makes it a really interesting mix of deep flavor, tannins that are still present and fairly low alcohol. The freshness is good, too. Found myself wanting to keep reaching for another sip, as it kept changing. Always a good sign.

High acid, low tannin, medium-light body. Disjointed and angular; kind of interesting, with austere fruit, mineral and spice notes. A decent food wine, but not much pleasure on its own.

A field blend of 30 different varietials. Light-bodied, with high acid but excellent balance. One of the most refreshing wines I've had in a while. 12.6% ABV. 89-90+

Great drinker. This wine is about balance. Its lighter and more acidic than most zinfandels which puts it right in my style. What other notes consider downsides I consider a plus. Dare I say I prefer this to Morgans version. Great QPR. Glad I have more

I love the complex fruit expression these field blends often have. This is like a mixed berry cobbler. There is a shadow of black pepper that seems to blend in to the wines expression rather sticking out as a note. Like good seasoning. Boldly fruited without being too big or in your face. Lighter than you would expect given all that fruit. The finish was probably not as clean as you might expect given the lowish ABV. Overall a very strong wine. Sort of a great expression of old California field blends.
