Wow. At age 7, this is simply phenomenal & an absolutely beautiful expression of Willamette PN. Drinking perfectly & hitting all the notes. Standing ovation.

PnP. The musty funk on the nose of this is insane. Not in a bad way but I let it sit for a bit longer so the fruit can push its way through. Over a few hours this was a very pretty, delicate PN with all the Willamette features we’ve come to expect. Extremely well made.

Significant melding of previously noted flavors, nicely accompanied by balanced softening of grip. Stemmy black fruit, green tea and peppery. Prefer this as a textbook pork chop or chicken wine, though an initial glass on its own works too. Drink within 2 years.

Time continues its kindness toward this wine. Penetrating clove and pepper notes present but subsided since last tasted 7-1/2 mos ago. Cherry, pomegranate and green stem persist on the palate. Still awkward, but continues its pleasant evolution.

Piercing clove with white pepper and green tobacco. Vibrant tart cherry and pomegranate palate, maybe showing some orange. Medium-bodied and acidic with a sleek, long finish. Extreme and awkward at this point, but still quite appealing and promising.
Two hour decant. Deep magenta color. Pomegranate, strawberry and overwhelming slate on the Burgundian nose. Dry, creamy palate, with soft acidity. Firm tannins on the medium long finish.
This started out with a very reduced smell (think bicycle tire), but that blew off in 15 min to reveal minerality that was too dominant. The body is also thinner than typical BTF. Not their best showing.

MNB: Grab Bag: (blind) Pale ruby. Fruity nose - slightly reductive red and black cherry. 14.5% alcohol. Slightly bitter, medium minus tannins, elevated acid. A bit ripe-to-bruised black cherry fruit. Laterals: - New world Pinot with low oak (NZ - would have lower alcohol) - Burgundy - alcohol's a bit high, I'd expect more oak, higher acid. - GSM - wouldn't be this reductive - would have more varied fruit and lower acid. - Australia - could be. - OR - Could be, but I would expect slightly lower alcohol, higher acid.
Final call: 2016 Sonoma Pinot, 15% new French oak.
Structurally a bit heavy and sluggish, but aromatically has a great mix of flowers, wet leaves, and cherry. 30% whole cluster?

As admired 6-1/2 months ago, although I like this wine sooner than later.

Delicious, low alcohol, great acid backbone. Strawberries and tart cherries. Better day 2.

Much softer and less stemminess than 2015. Slightly herbaceous black cherry nose. A softer, thinner wine for near term drinking without food.

Actual: 2016 Big Table Farm Pinot - cattrall brothers, eola amity hills
12.9% alcohol
Analysis: Makes sense! I think this is a really good example. Aromatic and complex with very well integrated oak influence.
All whole cluster. Very low new oak.

On the lighter side of medium body, tart cherry, violet, bright acidity.
