Required an hour in the decanter to come together and to show its potential. On the nose orchard fruit, lemon and herbal notes, on the palate good structure and a lot of substance, medium+ acidity, mineral and rather long finish.
Was already very good with the fish we had, but will be better in a couple of years (91-93+).

DAY 1 👃Precocious yellow fruit & green apples, flinty minerality, & grassy herbals 👅Lemon oil + white pepper & spirited minerality. Rounded fruit. Salty. Great acidity. The oak treatment is spot on So good!
Remaining wine was Slow Decanted in my fridge with Vinloq Preservation
DAY 7 👃👅Glorious nose. White florals + peach. Flinty & expressive. Long dry mineral laced finish. Lovely on both occasions
I knew this was young but it is drinking really well 🥂

Drank in a lineup with '17 Hubert Lamy, Marc Colin, Joseph Colin and Ramonet, all from En Remilly.
The Lamy was the most elegant / austere of the four, with nice notes of lemon curd, butter, cream and more elegant oak use.
The Marc Colin was quite similar in style in this year, also on the elegant side.
The Joseph Colin and especially the Ramonet showed great intensity and power (but for my taste were too broad shouldered to be fully enjoyable). The Ramonet showed some reduction, and no typical fennel / spearmint notes.

Decanted and consumed over three hours. Impressive from the start, but it did slowly unfurl and became more elegant over time. Light-moderate aromas of reduction, orchard fruits, and flowers. Similar, moderate strength flavors. Fresh. Very balanced and elegant. Medium body. Moderate complexity/finish. Very enjoyable now with upside. 93-94.

Grassy with dense fruit that veers towards orchard fruit, bright plump October apples, rather than citrus. Great mineral finish and some slight reduction really add dimension, and compensate for the fact it’s a touch ripe (I guessed this was an 18). There is nice power and I’d recommend sitting on these even though they are consumable here and now

Oh, this is nice. Lightly reductive on the nose, with lemony accents on the palate. No crime in drinking this now, but it will improve with additional time in the bottle.

[Holiday @ La Franqui] Quite closed, much more than the Frionnes ‘17 I had earlier this week, still on day 2. Lemon, lemon pie, apple, candied lemon, honeysuckle, vanilla, toast. High acidity, long finish. One more bottle which I’ll keep for another 3-5 years

Ripe, broad and toasted. Agglomerate cork. Pale gold. Pronounced. Ripe, apple, lemon, peach, apricot, pastry, cream, vanilla, toast. High acidity, bit of phenolic grip. Med body and alcohol (13%)
Btb with 2014, which is more precise, sharp and tight. Natural cork.

A kaleidoscope of citrus fruit, white flowers, limestone and just enough struck match to add to complexity rather than subtracting from the experience. I loved this

Has some smoky mineral to the aroma along with fresh lemon and mint. In the mouth, a high tensile mineral spine is sheathed in sappy, dense orchard fruits. It has an unctuous feel combined with terrific detail. The finish is chalky and dry and length of flavour is superb.

I believe that this rating will be higher in 2 to 3 years. Right now, the acid backbone prevails a bit over the lush St. Aubin fruit. Based upon the 2014, my guess would be that by next year or in 2023, the full force of this very elegant wine will come to the fore. It took the 2014 a full 5-6 years to blossom, and then it sang. Right now, citrus oil, lemon, some high- toned floral notes, a pretty light yellow color, and just a hint of the caramel on the palate.

Great vintage for this. Perfect balance. Mineral, saline, lovely medium weight fruit. Just a poised, delicious wine. Will develop beautifully so for best results give it another 3-5 years.

Hints of yellow stone fruits and oak on the nose. Palate somewhat concentrated with a pronounced, slightly salty, mineral character that is complemented by oak notes.

So happy to see this bottled under Diam 30. Steely, mildly reductive nose with a good hit of that minerality/sulphur combination. On the palate this is clearly just a very young wine -- heaps of racy acidity framed by ripe and rounded fruit. Good complexity that should only improve with more time in the cellar. This is not a wine defined by its acid though, the orchard fruits on the palate help give this weight and breadth.

Straw yellow. Lemon-lime nose with under ripe green apple and oyster shell. Salty round white orchard fruit in the mouth. A bit round in the mouth but still stony and vibrant. Just excellent stuff.

Starts off wide-open, bursting with sappy orchard fruits. Tightens with air and matchstick notes become more apparent. It is full, with intense white peach and a suggestion of lavender. It has texture and tension and is high on mineral content.

Full of preserved citrus and salty minerals. There’s a sweet entry, dry finish and loads of sappy, rich fruit in between. Super wine with outstanding length.

Wines Tasted at the La Paulée Verticals Session (The Maybourne, Beverly Hills): Light tulip. Airy, herbal nose. Medium weight, wonderfully supple feel. Pear and soil atop a light base of oak. More convincingly mineral finish. Excellent and as it usually is, the classiest of the bunch.

A decent white for sure with mineral cut and precision but for me something was lacking and this is less interesting than the Chateniere 17.
