Absolutely lovely - creamy fresh white from Guigal - I’m a little shocked actually that it’s this good - despite the production volume - and keeping up extremely well -drink now now but it will keep up for a few more years no doubt

Chez Genèse/Compass Virtual Tasting (Home, Greensboro, NC): Medium yellow color. A hint of lanolin and white peach nose. Honeydew melon and white tea flavors. Soft and fat. Barely any acidity. A little oily with slightly bitter almond to finish.

Not the best bottle I've had of this, I've had others that were definitely 90pts. Fresher and more reserved than the 2018 (a turbo-charged CDR blanc). White peach, dried herbs, lemon peel and white flowers waft up on the nose followed by an juicy palate of stone fruits and plenty of viognier character. There is a touch of bitterness on the finish that holds it back for me but this is still a solid CDR blanc.

I’d give this wine a 3 out of a possible 5 stars. It has nice melon and pear aromas, and, again, melon and pear on the palate along with a hint of warm spice (and a medium-weight mouth-feel). What would have moved my rating up is more bright acidity to balance out that fruit on the palate.

I love this wine. It over performs every time. Golden straw in a glass. Nose of honeysuckle, peach, vanilla, lemon oil, white flower and almond. Much the same on the palate but with air, the wine becomes all about lychee fruit. It’s on the attack and still leading the charge at the finish. Crisp, but not at all lean on the palate. Excellent mouthfeel with enough heft, yet crisp. Smooth, clean and satisfying. 13.5% alc. With our first meal from the Depot Grill in months as it produced to-go meals in an attempt to stay afloat during the pandemic. We all ordered chicken tender salads. Recommended. (Note built from prior note just 3 months ago; not much change. Wonderful little wine.)

Really good blanc for the price. Great body and mouthfeel with just enough fruit character, and a little shy in the aromatics, but i find this common in many southern Rhone blancs. My first E. Guigal CdR blanc - a worthy repeat purchase.

Pretty reliable basic white Rhone. Good with food (oven-baked salmon). Quite good fruit at first with decent body but there was less fruit and more apricot skin and buttery caramel later.

Soft, medium-bodied mouthfeel, with minerality and a touch of fine chalk. Nose and palate are very floral, with flavours of lavender, jasmine, and apricot. Similar to my notes for the 2015 (tasted in 2017), but without the hint of cream on the nose.

Viognier dominant, giving it a nice character. Fresh of course, that’s why it feels a bit more intense, bitter, minerally. Always a good choice. Better than Guigal Condrieu in terms of QPR.

A blend of 60% Viognier, 30% Grenache Blanc, 10% Roussanne and 10% Clairette, 13.5% ABV. The rather simple nose is fresh and minerally, with tart citrus and only a hint of stone fruit; the palate starts out rather light, with Viognier fruit and typicity building on the finish. Not up to the standard of the 2016 and (especially) the 2015.

N....not much, oddly. A bit of roasted almonds and soft white fruits, not intense at all.
T....Exciting, swirling acidity and earthy flavours. Some minerality, lovely rich marzipan/almond, lemon, but balanced by acidity. Drinking superbly now, weirdly complex and good for this price. Solid medium body, some open-air summer herbals, reasonably long finish to off-dry.

Strongly floral, with stone fruits - primarily white peach on the nose. Lively, fruity yet dry body and finish. Nice minerality. Blows away the 2016 that I recently drank.
Went really well with chickpea tikka masala with green rice (thanks Cookie + Kate)
