perfect level and cork, decanted 3 hours, marked legs on the glass, opaque colour all the way to the rim with still almost no brown, fine, quite complex nose but linear, reflecting the single grape, palate of medium weight, fine, delicate and lifted rather than powerful or super concentrated, fine grained quite dry tannin at the finish also with distinct acidity, what you have here are the subtle nuances of a single grape, I think I may actually prefer the additional complexity possible with blends (e.g. left bank Bordeaux), nice wine though and a different experience, good drinking now but probably only at the beginning of its drinking window, went very well with blue cream cheese (Cambazola) after the meal, actually better than with the lamb, which might not be a good pairing

Decanted. Tons of sediment. None of the character that draws me to the Northern Rhone. Not much evolution aromatically. All stewed fruit, raisins and plums. Over extracted for my taste. Not a fan.

Structured and quite dense, and still developing; given how expressive this was on the nose and the fact that day 2 was better, I suspect some of the other TNs got bad bottles. Too bad I was only able to procure one bottle ($50!)

Nice dark colour, not really showing much age, just some brick on the rim, otherwise dark plum and cherry. Opaque centre. With some air, the meat, smoke, rosemary and brush, dark blackberry and currant notes as well. Super complex. Medium to full bodied. ripe but not overly so, savory blackberry and currant fruit, dry fine tannins and acidity, lovely smooth finish. This is an excellent wine, best showing since the first one (a 2003) I had around 15 years ago!

This was a positive surprise indeed! In a perfect drinking window now, dark complex fruit intermixed with secondary notes of sweet tobacco, coffee and milk chocolate. Sweet tannins and a moderate but elegant finish. Drink now – within 10 years. 93+

Showing it's age quite well. Leather and 'autumn' on the nose, maybe mushrooms, improved with more nuance after it had some air. Tannic, acidity medium+, dried fruit. Last bottle, glad I didn't wait any longer.

As noted by others, the nose is muted. Palate enjoyment is stronger. It may well be on the down slope -- but nonetheless lovely dark fruit and cherry, supported by fine leathery tannin.

Rather tired on the nose, showing hints of oxidation. Fresher on the palate, with good typicity coming through. Ok with food. Not sure if it was a bad bottle or if this is on a downward slope already.

Took a while to open up and show what it's made of. Unfortunately that was way into the bottle. Open early, decant, let rest. Or better: celler for 3-5 more years.

The ‘05 Tourettes showed beautifully on this night, with a display of black cherry, pretty floral tones, hints of olive and pepper. On the palate, I found a pure and finessed expression, as a mix of black cherry and blackberry splashed across the senses, leaving fine tannin and and twang of refreshing acidity. It finished on fresh fruit and light tannin. This may not be a wine for the ages, but it is in fine form today.

Decanted for one hour and this was ready. Still some oaky notes on the nose and palate and tannins came out about two hours into the bottle. No surprise that this wine can handle more bottle time.

Starting to drink well now. Very nice and complex herbal/medicinal nose. The syrah fruits comes through on the finish. Lovely wine, which paired well with moose tenderloin.

Popped and poured at restaurant The Steakhouse in Lachen. The wine was dark purple in colour. It offered black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, currant, pepper, dark chocolate and a mineral component on the nose. On the palate the medium-bodied wine was pretty tight at first, restrained, but elegant, showing black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, chocolate, some vanilla, some pepper, and currant on the aftertaste, with fine dry tannins and very good length. A very nice wine, will buy again.

A bit closed on the nose. Maybe a bit to early? Sleek fruity taste, really elegant and long aftertaste. Has a cold minerality and a hint of the complexity that will hopefully evolve during the next ten years. I will save the remaining, min. 5 years.

I would support Parker's observation that it needs 10 years in the bottle to mellow out. The nose was initially shut down but started to open slightly after 20 minutes. After 4 hours it was doing really well, herbs and spices with notes of scorched earth, leather, tobacco, etc all of the good Hermitage notes. On the palette it was all tannin and sharp acidity for the first 3 hours. After four hours the nose was so overwhelmingly good but the palette was still overshadowed by massive tannin and sharp acidity. Think dirt, a little fruit from tart cherries and blueberries with some leather and tar thrown in and that sums it up.
Having tasted some well-aged Hermitage, I got all of it in the nose but little on the palette due to the acidity and tannin. I think it will be fine in 2015+ and go for several years.

Stunning, simply amazing. Took some real time to come together in the glass, would suggest a long decant or a nice time on it's side. At first, totally shut down only some slight cellar odors. With time clear pepper, bacon, rich complex nose, drank side by side with a young napa cab, this more than held it's own. I wish I had more than one more bottle in the cellar.

Very rich and fleshy at this stage with massive tannins. Huge length. Definitely drinkable but best to leave a minimum of 5 years. This wine is going to age elegantly.

Glossy, clear blueish red. First impression is a wonderful cask treatment with notes of sandalwood, coffee, baking spice and dark mint chocolate. The fruit is rich, with plenty of finesse: tight black currants and sweet raspberry reduction. Not your textbook syrah nose, more refined. A memorable palate: pure, stylish, slender, austere and long. Remarkable push on the finish, in fact shiver-inducing. The acid-infused aftertaste just won't let go. The best Marquise we've tasted (at least as good as the 1999). As expected from Delas it's about elegance before power. Try now - or wait for a long time.

Tät kärna, mognadstecken på färgen
Initialt väldigt jordig, skitig, fuktig källare, punschpralin, tomatsoppa, lagerblad
Torrt, bra frukt i munnen, strävt, medium+ längd
Härlig i munnen men tämligen tråkig på doften. Kändes lite för gammal för att vara 2005:a.

Agree w/ Elise that when the taste matches the nose it's going to be incredible. Opened way too young, but still very enjoyable.
