Garnet color with a brick red rim. Nose has a lot of marasca cherry, some florals, thyme and warm spice. On the palate this has a lot of red and black cherry, kirsch, and mint. Medium+ acidity, medium body, tannins are well integrated on the palate right now but are very long and not yet fully integrated through the finish. A little rustic for Cavallotto but not surprising for the vintage (especially given that this 2017 clocks in at 14.5%).

très agréable et équilibré à l'ouverture, nez floral, belle acidité, tanins fermes mais jolis, il se déséquilibre après 1h-2h d'aération, avec des tanins un peu envahissants. le fond de bouteille laissé sans rebouchage est plus fondu le lendemain (12h) donc devrait gagner à la garde. 90-91 à l'ouverture. Langhe dans un style mini-barolo

Vin encore puissant qui mérite quelques années de cave pour s'épanouir. Fermé le premier jour, la deuxième moitié de la bouteille était très bonne le lendemain. A carafer impérativement.

Très acide à l'ouverture, presque imbuvable. rebouché et dégusté quelques jours plus tard, le vin était correct mais toujours marqué par un excès d'acidité.

Nez immédiatement ouvert et très expressif, mêlant fruits rouges, rose et pot pourri. Bouche structurée et bien typée avec ses tannins serrés mais aussi fraîche et gourmande, d'une grande expression aromatique. La concentration le rend supérieur à bien des barolos. A boire dès maintenant mais devrait se garder 3-5 ans, voire plus.

Really nice, everything you would expect from a Nebbiolo, floral nose (roses), beautiful color, nice acidity and tannins. Not at integrated or refined as a typical Barbaresco/Barolo, but great at the price point.

Farge: Klar rubinrød, liten kant som heller mot murstein. Lukt: ren, medium intensitet, røde bør, ikke fat, mørke bær, jordlig preg, krydret. Smak: tørr, høy syre, tannin M+ (tørre tanniner). Kirsebær sorte, bjørnebær, modne bær. Fylde M Kompleksitet M+ Meget god. Bør lagres noen år.

Deep ruby color in the glass. The nose is spice forward with a bit of smokiness and plumb. In the mouth it is bright, but opens up to plumb, leather, and smoke that is absolutely stunning - drank over two nights, and was still developing day two. Give this one a bit of a decent - maybe an hour or two? It started a touch tight but was singing shortly thereafter. Will also do with some time in the cellar, but open if you have multiples as it is still drinking well today.

Anis, Cherry and for me the first time i find a hint of rose that should come with nebbiolo, candy when opening up.
Light body, very dry, still quite tight tannis, high acidity, leather, a herbal tone of the very last finish. Perhaps hibiscus?
Ok to drink now and can take a couple more years. I rarely say this but this wine should definitely be decanted properly to let the acidity give way.

Thanksgiving week in Piemonte; 11/22/2019-11/30/2019 (Milan, Barolo, Alba, Barbaresco): Tasted at the winery. From 15 year old vines. Spends 18 months in large oak barrels. Nose has tar and black pepper. More in the easy and early drinking style (warm vintage) red fruits, some of that tar but light and easy.

Piedmont II - better and learnings; 11/23/2019-11/29/2019 (Barolo, Alba, others): Again lots of fruit and darker fruits. It's also easy and drinking nicely although that drying tannin makes me wonder if a few more years would make it a touch better. It wants food. Some red style. A great bargain.
