- Brick color with slow forming legs. It's balanced and has flavours of black currant, dusty and black pepper with a medium body. Round texture with a medium finish - Aging well. Black Fruit still exposed and settled.

Really nice Cab/Syrah blend. Took a solid hour in the decanter to reveal its character. Black fruit notes with a hint of spice on the finish. A little bit of heat at the end but overall a really well balanced wine. Think it is right in its peak window.

Full bodied. Really excellent wine. Continues to improve with age. Lots of dark fruit. Good acidity. Still a bit tannic. Has another 5 years ,at least, until it peaks.

Dark purple, huge body. Can feel a small amount of heat at the end but overall well balanced with soft tannins, dark fruit and berries with tobacco and cedar on the finish.

An outstanding wine. This is by far the best wine I have had from Caldwell Vineyards. Decanted for about two hours and drank over the course of about four hours. Dark in color, full bodied with lots of ripe fruit on the nose. On the palate lots of fleshy fruit, plums, cherries, and strawberries with the perfect balance of oak on the finish. A terrific wine, I wish we had bought more at the vineyard.

this was delicious. 50% cab 47% syrah 3% petite verdot. the cab gave it a nice structure, while the lush softness of the syrah really opened up and made it approachable. tannins were all very soft and well integrated, but I get the impression this will last a good long while and open up even more. I can't say I can justify the price, but I'd drink it again in a heartbeat for a splurge or special occasion.

Consumed at Quince's in Wilson, NC - popped and poured. Nose: Dark fruits - black berry, black currant, - smoke and earth. Palate: Full bodied dominated by ripe dark fruit, velvety, and nicely balanced. Finish: Medium length, more dark fruit.

Rich but threw a lot of tannins that were a little overwhelming. Past its prime.
