A really delicious appellation Cali chardonnay for my palate. Rich, flavorful with enough acidity and balance to not be overblown. A really good value in their line of chards. Definitely easy to identify the Aubert style.

Aubert makes great wine, and this is no exception. Usually I decant the whites for a few hours, we drank this right from the cork pull. Lively, light floral nose with an beautiful smooth taste on the palate. Not a oak bomb for sure. Just great.

Enjoyable, but not anything over the top (actually thought about a score of 90). I agree with the other notes regarding flavor and aroma, but for my taste was just a little too mellow, nothing that me me remember this wine for a long time. Does anyone else agree?

Decanted 90 minutes before service. In the glass, pale, clear gold - used to a bit more cloudiness from Aubert, so this was a noticeable change. On the nose, lemon, peach, and a secondary note of smoky wood. On the palate, a smooth, silky texture, delivering citrus, honeysuckle, peach, and a touch of passionfruit, with a crisp, refreshing finish. The fruit and minerality are very nicely balanced here.

Ripe and rich yet delicate, a harmony of lemon zest, banana peel and peach pit. About a year or two ahead of the single vineyards, and the unmistakable balance of Aubert.

I just can't take an Aubert out of inventory and not say at least something about it... This one was brought to a dinner party with friends. I don't know if it's this bottle particularly, but this is probably the most atypical Aubert I've had. Whereas I usually get the classic yellow juicy fruit and chalkiness that comes to characterize these wines, this one had actually very little of that on a whole. A full-bodied Chardonnay? Check! A beautiful Russian River Valley Chardonnay? Check! A more mature wine than it seems? Check! This one had a lot of minerality and actually quite a bit of acidity on the finish. It expressed extremely well with the herbed fondue and toasted nuts on the table. Is this one perhaps asleep? Maybe a little bit. But it understood the assignment! I'd say you could drink these or hold these. I don't think there's really any rush to pop the corks!

Well it was seafood night at the club and I invited some good friends and some of my wife's family. We started at my house and then corked all the bottles and went to the club. This was the only chardonnay served and it was spectacular. Peach and white flowers on the nose. The palate was peach, melon, tangerine and hints of oak. The finish was long. Unfortunately this was my last bottle of the half case I bought and more unfortunate outside of a taste that I took to rate it my sister-in-law hoarded and drank the whole bottle.

One hour double decant. Deep straw color. Lemon pound cake and vanilla on the rich nose. Very smooth, full bodied palate, with great, lingering acidity. The nose is not necessarily complex, but this has wonderful depth.

Another well made wine from Aubert. Even this non single vineyard Chardonnay has rich fruit of Fuji apple, peach along with hints of mango and butter on the finish. Great acidity, round, delicious and drinking very well.

Pale straw in color with a slight green hue. Lovely nose of elder flowers, green apples, and hints of Peach. Tastes of bitter apple, pears, and a hint of autumnal spices. Nice acidity and complimentary fruit. Great nose And lovely balance. Revisit in a couple years.

Racy backbone of salinity and acid. An amazing wine for the non-single vineyard designation. Honeysuckle and key lime pie on the back end. An amazing effort for the “cheap” Aubert. 😁

Jesus, this is good. I feel like the appellation blends from Aubert have improved dramatically in the last few years, nearing the SVD quality. Tropical fruit and summer peach on the nose with a little funk behind it. Beautiful golden colour. Baked apple cobbler and light mango. Just great.

We just love this wine. One month since our last bottle and it is exactly the same The nose.is oak and peach. The palate is peach, melon, guava, mango and a touch of oak to keep it all in balance. The finish is just beautiful We lingered over the wine longer this time and I noticed that as it approached room temperature the underlying flavors became more pronounced. Served with Grilled swordfish that had been marinated in olive oil, lemon, rosemary and garlic.

Our good friend Gail's birthday and since she only drinks chardonnay so I decided to open the Aubert. This wine is amazing. The nose is oak and peach. The palate is peach, melon, guava, mango and a touch of oak to keep it all in balance. The finish is just beautiful. My wife and I just love the Aubert wines.
Creamy salinity balancing out good light yellow fruit. I slightly prefer the Sonoma Coast bottling as between the two, which I find brighter and sharper, but this is delightful too.

WOW, never surprised to find a Aubert Chard that I like. Its usually a single vineyard. This one, 2018 Russian River, home run. Faint hint of acid is quickly calmed by stone fruit butter that leaves a pleasant lasting impression.

Perfumed white florals, limestone, oak, myer lemon, good intensity. Palate is baked apple, rich and full bodied, myer lemon toward the back end, a bit heavy for my palate but a very high quality and well made wine. I enjoyed this quite a bit but you can feel the weight more vs the single vineyards where I am amazed at how well they hide the abv. 92-93 with a few solid years of good drinking.

Well I realized that being home every night thanks to the virus (and now home every day as well) while on diet and sobriety was a bit of a challenge (actually I rationalized it as it was a violation of my 8th amendment rights with regard to cruel and unusual punishment) so I decided to keep the diet and after 60 days (was supposed to be 85 this year) end the sobriety. Since I started sobriety with an Aubert I would end it with one. This is a really beautiful chardonnay with a palate of tangerine, mango and melon. The finish is full and moderate to long. Served with a pan steamed swordfish.

My first Aubert Chardonnay and it was phenomenal. I only dabble in white wines as my dear wife only drinks reds but her best friend, a white wine drinker, was over for dinner so we opened this and a 2017 Aubert Pinot. This was one of the best white wines I’ve ever tasted. Exotic nose of mango and pineapple and an unctuous mouthfeel but without any distracting oak notes. Kept getting better as the night progressed but I switched to the Pinot which was too young but wanted to let our guest enjoy the rest of this bottle.
Another fantastic Aubert. Medium lemon green color with slow legs. Lemon meringue pie and a little butter on the nose. White pepper on the tip of the tongue with a bit of guava and honeydew. Long smooth creamy finish.

Nose of lemon curd and meringue draws you in immediately. Expansive expression of tropical fruit and brioche with a snappy finish, in a style that is a bit heavier than typical of Aubert, but reflective of Russian River roots. Best in 2021-24.

Worried it might be a little early, but was pleasantly surprised. After 30 min in the glass the acidity faded enough to reveal interesting primary and secondary flavors.
On the nose, almond croissant, light lemon curd. Primary stone fruit, marzipan, light oak notes. Glycerin mouthfeel, good viscosity. Medium+ acid with pleasant, clean finish.
Still great on night 2, albeit with a little more of the malo character peeking through.
IMO more approachable and enjoyable than the Sonoma coast offering right now.
Excellent value for “entry level” chard. Looking forward to remaining bottles and will enjoy more soon.

Pnp at cellar temp, nose is good, some salinity, a touch of heat, tropical fruit, alcohol is more apparent than the single vineyards typically are. Good acid, full bodied chard, tropical fruit leaning pineapple, a touch of creaminess followed by a warm apple pastry with whipped cream finish. Unmistakably California, the alcohol is less balanced than many Aubert bottlings I've had (possibly slightly too warm temp wise). That said still a great chard and consistently one of the best domestic chards imo. These are ready to go and can be drunk while waiting for the single vineyards, I wouldn't hold too long as the riper fruit and high alcohol tend to be better in the short term.

We decided that we should enjoy a chardonnay before dinner- house made sausage and homemade grits: it's a Saturday and the sun is shining.
Aroma: pineapple, bell pepper preserves, vanilla, honey, creme brûlée, hint of lemon peel, and fresh cream
Taste: layer upon layer of flavor- limoncello, asian pear, mango, salinity, and an awesome mineral texture
Finish: long, beautiful finish- lemon zest and umami
Send me your bottles. No one will like this wine :)
Never had a young Aubert with this kind of balance. Simply stunning.
