It started out as a rather strict military man. Sa-tannic and good acidity keeping a laser focus.
It felt really young at the beginning of the dinner (after double decanting and 1 hr of rest) but more and more developed a Côte Rôtie character that finally disintegrated.
First two hours: 95p. Fourth hour: 90p. Cork: perfect condition.

Brought to drink at Oinoscent during service, decanted and slowly drank over 1.5 hour Bright, juicy, red and black fruit, fine oak frame, whole spice, beautiful freshness, smooth, velvety tannins with long finish. Pure joy to drink as it is but with a nice life ahead

plenty going on here; mulberry in the background to tree sap, medicinal notes, iron, orange zest, good acidity (yes, i took those from previous notes) and plenty of je ne sais quoi; dry and a bit austere, but nice with a fancy BLT; good length (but it is the tree sap, not the fruit); haven't drunk much older syrah, but this makes me want to try more.

Lots of acidity gives this wine a sense of freshness and energy. A nice nose of blueberries and flowers. Tannins are nicely integrated but still noticeable. A hint of black pepper on the finish.

What a gorgeous Northern Rhone! Slow O'd for 45 minutes, and followed over a meal. Blueberries and pepper, orange zest, blood, and iron, with great fruit. Scrumptious. Could go another year, maybe two, but why wait?

Dusty on the nose with underwood, spices, dark fruit, and lavender. High, dry tannins with tart red fruit and black pepper flavors on the palate. Nice finish. Drinking very well, but not sure if the fruit fades before the tannins do. Still, very fun to drink! Wife: 94-95

Opened for ninety minutes. Blueberries and black pepper. Don't know what the aging potential might be—I'd guess another couple of years—but drinking beautifully now. Long finish. Paired with spicy lamb burgers and cauliflower rice.

Solid Rhone wine. All the right aromatics of damp earth, tree sap, syrupy cola and roasted meat. Chewy, tannic and dry but in a pleasing way with pine cones and stewed cherries. Lovely match with ratatouille on grilled baguette. Will hold but drink now if you like these wines on the younger, more biting side.

Dark and brooding, needs an hour or two of air to open up. Black fruits, pepper, and olive. Great structure, big tannins, could easily cellar for another few years.

Decanted for 5+ hours and the tannins were still overpowering. Big and meaty, with lots of interest, but not ready to show it’s full potential. Leave this one in the cellar.

NY/NJ WLTV Offline at Anthony Davids (Anthony David's, Hoboken): Somewhat restrained nose. Scorched earth, bloody meat, olives and spice. Similar on the palate with black tea and leather on the finish. Medium body. Medium high tannin and acid. Medium long finish.

Drank at Fish: Boissonerie with Joue de Boeuf. Decanted. Very closed and a bit tough at first. Sweet black fruits and peppery spice plus wet stones, leather and charcuterie with some licorice on the finish. Long. Got better and better in the decanter over the course of the meal. Needs a couple more years to come into its own. My kind of wine!

Garagiste Warehouse Tasting: Thomas Calder (Seattle, WA): The nose of this wine just screamed of black pepper. So much so that I was imagining a New York Peppercorn steak before I even tasted this wine. The palate was smoky and also full of black pepper and roasted meat. Medium bodied with a medium length finish. I really enjoyed this wine, and it was one of my favorites of the day.

sipped immed then decanted for 2hr; dark and brooding fruit with nice texture; some wood not fully integrated; tannins slightly bitter but not a problem with this big fruit; good complexity with smoke and dust; left on table for a day and opened up with more red fruit; very nice

Very deep in color, almost purple. The nose was very mineral at first. Wet steal, wet iron with some berries lingering in the background. Very good grip. The tannins are ripe. This is not a sweet wine, nor heavy with alcohol. It is tightly packed, long, and complex. It’s a lovely wine.

Bacon, blood and very dry crushed stones. Classic old school, real Cornas. This is how they should go.
Loved this and felt healthful.
At first the barnyard made me cheer.
It's dark purple showed very little signs of age.
Steely, granite, blood and bacon.
Just yummy juice.
