Quite floral nose, honeydew and white fruit, less tropical on the palate (thankfully) - nicely balanced, with the suggestion of residual sugar playing with Thai quite well.

Intensely fragrant nose of white flowers, bright stone fruits, terpene aromas, and a tropical undertone. Palate revealed similar flavors with a more vibrant zip of acidity than previous vintages. Dry, with a hint of phenolic bitterness, moderate yet lively acidity, medium to medium plus body, and ABV at 14.2%. Eclectic, yet delicious now. This is the third vintage of this wine I’ve tasted and in my opinion the most enjoyable yet.

Big, bold, and unapologetically Compagni Portis. Gewurz-lychee forward, peach and a bit of oxidative apple and muskmelon, kept from tipping over into heaviness by a boat load of salty-rocky minerals, juicy acid, and chenin-style wax-n-wool. Tons of depth, aromatic and palate complexity and a long finish. Just a bit of heat and lack of cut preventing it from being a bonafide world class white.

Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined), note from day 2. Appearance: Clear, medium yellow. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity, youthful aromas of peach, apple, pineapple, straw, and hints of freshly baked bread. Palate: Dry, medium- acid, medium alcohol and body, medium+ intensity, flavors of pear, honeydew melon, steel, and hints of licorice with a medium+ (45-60 second) finish. Outstanding complexity and balance with very good intensity and length. Still quite youthful, with easily a 5+ year drinking window - outstanding.

The wine looks straw colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It tastes like apricot and pear. The body is light/medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Though picked at a relatively low potential alcohol of 21.7 brix, the 1954-planted field blend of Gewurztraminer, Trousseau Gris, Riesling, Roter Veltliner, Chenin Blanc, and more is immensely concentrated with thick skins and small berries. The result is a particularly aromatic and intense effort that shows off the flamboyant aromatics of Gewurz with the texture of Trousseau Gris (aka Grey Riesling in CA) and snap of Riesling (aka White Riesling in CA) and Chenin. Native fermented in a combination of neutral oak and stainless-steel barrels with no MLF to retain freshness. Five barrels made. (Source: Bedrock Winery)

Very fragrant and floral. Loads of tropical fruit up front, relative low acidity with a medium body and a bit of viscosity. Shows better balance that it did 12 month ago. Crowd pleasing white. Better than the 2017?

An old gewurz-dominant field blend, that comes across especially perfumed and seemingly with a pinch of residual sugar. Simple yet abundantly interesting, and between the sweetness and nice acid backbone, this was a great partner to spicy curries. I enjoy Bedrock’s rendition more than Carlisle’s.

Best vintage yet of this wine. Aromas of mango, peach, and jasmine jump out of the glass. A balanced quaff with bold flavors of apricot, pear, melon, wet slate, and a dash of citrus. Fantastic.

An exceedingly rare miss from a Bedrock white for my palate. The usual pretty, floral, Gewurzy nose. More flowers and citrus in the mouth with spicy notes but showing some heat on the backend that mars the finish. I greatly prefer the Alta Vista Gewurz from this vintage (acknowledging that this has a bunch of other varieties in it).

Pop and pour, consumed over 2 hours. Nose: Medium-plus intensity, pear, lemon, and saline dominate with white flower and straw notes. Palate: Medium bodied, wonderful creamy mouth-feel, juicy pear and lemon dominate the attack, nice mineral back-bone shows through the mid-palate with steel and licorice notes appearing in the back-end. Finish: Medium-plus length dominated by freshly canned pears, saline, and light licorice notes. This hits on all cylinders from front to back - great mouth-feel, wonderful flavor, and great balance.

Consistently one of my favorite whites from Bedrock and this vintage is no different. Lychee, lemons, flowers and citrus pith. A nice, sharp, pleasingly bitter, lip-smacking finish.

Very fragrant and floral. Loads of tropical fruit up front, relative low acidity with a medium body and a bit of viscosity. More fruit and less minerality than some vintages of the CP. May be a bit too forward for some tastes but very enjoyable. Strikes me as better than the 2017.

A white blend of varietals I don't generally care for ... and yet I truly enjoy this wine.

Good acidity to this wine. Always wish I bought more when the last bottle is gone and this time is no different.

Good. Acid. Cuts the fat and grease and richness of the food. Great food wine.

Fruity. Light but round. Held up to food. Easy sipping. Slight off finish. Maybe me. I like. Works. Need to taste more to see my purchasing future
