Decanted for two hours. Really nice complexity and depth with mix of fruit and spices. Continued to improve over the next hour. Great lingering finish.

PnP. Nose of blueberry, boysenberry, and oak with a hint of pine sap and maple wood. Dusty blackberry palate with pine cone, mint, and fleshy cherry. Firm tannins, oak, black cherry, cola, and a sharp rhubarb note and damp earth but the finish seems a bit dilute.

Crazy good. Wine Spectator was spot on with their 95 rating. Carlisle continues to produce the best Zin. "Polished" and complex rather than a fruit bomb, and without the pepper and usual over hipness of many Zins. Opened a half hour before guests arrived and then another hours before paring with the braised short ribs. Perfect combination...better pairing than the Venge Bone Ash (always one of my favorites) and the other two couples agreed as well. Can see where folks who expect the big ripe fruit would find this lacking but I thought it excellent.

A nose of black cherry and spices, dark garnet in color. A medium to full bodied Zin blend, with black raspberry, licorice and spice on long finish. www.winelx.com

Hard to decipher nose of spice, hot sand, meaty notes, and rustic raspberry. Palate stats acidic with raspberry, grapefruit, and bright cherry with loads of red floral flavors, red licorice, and tart cherry cola. Smooth, supple tannins with allspice, red roses and tart cherry layers with a touch of oak. Very supple but there’s a lot acidity here. Give it another year or two to see if it comes together further.

Popped and poured while making dinner at home and consumed over several hours (improving over the course of the evening). A great Zin with all of the flavors/notes I like in a Zin. Well balanced.

Red plum color. Earthy nose. Mellow dark fruit flavors flow over the tongue--no "sweetness," at all, and not tartness, but a pleasant level of acid suggesting citrus is detected around the edges of the tongue. Plenty of tannin. I wish I had more to check in five years.

Impressively balanced with predominantly black fruit notes complemented by sweet herb, pepper, forest and mild menthol notes. Finishes well with nice length and moderate complexity. Might improve slightly with more time

Delicious. Thick and chewy after a 2 hour decant. 100% cherry cola… In a good way. I think with a decant, this one is good to go. Plenty of tannins to hold up in the cellar if you prefer.

This combination of Carlisle and Bedrock is a show-Stopper! So much dark berry fruit, chocolate cordial. It’s just not right how good this Zin Field blend is! Wish I had more!!

Beautiful black cherry and purple fruit on the nose and palate. Classic Carlisle silky texture on the palate. This had full body but glided on the palate. Light tannin. Tremendous wine.

14.7% abv. Medium dark ruby, very aromatic. Ripe plum, Zin bramble, a touch of mint Excellent depth and length, typical Bedrock vineyard rusticity. Nice wine now, even better future.

Expressive bouquet of blue fruits on the nose: blueberries, boysenberry, cherries that's soon followed by sweet hoisin, red liquorice, a bit of savoury dried spices and a soupçon of menthol at the very end. A but spicy on entry alongside the blue fruits, but not much after the initial attack. Really needed to swish it around and chew on it to get more out of the wine. Medium acid. On the front palate there's this really intriguing tension between the red and blue fruits and some herbal savoury elements, but that seems to fade shortly thereafter. A well made Zin in a lighter and more restrained in style, but it seems to be missing some complexity and additional oomph for my preference.
ABV: 14.7% Decant: 6h Stem: Gabriel Glas StandArt Assemblage: 98% Zinfandel (includes a couple percent mixed black varieties), 2% Mourvèdre. pH: 3.60; T.A.: 6.8 g/L. 302 cases produced

Yes, this is Burgundian, red-fruited and loaded with stunning acidity. On day one, this seems closer to a barrel sample, where the depth is not there yet, but the texture is evident. However, on day six, this was singing. Red fruit medley, tarragon, char siu, dark plum, balsam and spring flowers. Complex, with a medium body and long, with nothing much in regards to tannin; and yet the acidity ensures the cellar. Drink 2025 - 2035.
