Nose: lemon, citrus, maltose, brioche, gingerbread, mango, butter, herbs, tropical fruits Notes: the nose shows that this bottle is in pristine condition, with plenty of lemon and citrus upon opening. Medium to full body with some attractive fatness in the palate. The intensive flavor lingers in the mouth for quite some time. The wine gets a little buttery once it opens up after 45 minutes and it is indeed very impressive. Once it hits the hour mark a slight savory palate comes up and it drank well from opening till a 2.5 hour mark when we finished the bottle. This reminds me how amazing Ramonet can be. It has been a generous treat from a Taiwanese collector who has kept this bottle in his cellar for 10+ years. Drinking great now and I think would last for another 15+ years if the bottle was in such condition. Drink: Now - 2040 (only if condition is as good as this one) Rating: 94

Beautifully fresh and highly expressive nose that has spearmint, cinnamon, and spices in addition to the more classic white florals and orchard fruit. On the palate this was great as well, but didn’t have the same impact or length as the ‘01 Leflaive Chevalier, although this had greater nuance and complex flavours. Mineral. These two bottles were neck and neck and both perfect... stylistic preference as to which was better, hard to say.

Blind White Burgs - Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet (Acadia): Tasted side-by-side with the 2002. Good in its own right, but not as thrilling as the 2002. Full nose with a myriad of aromas including spearmint, mature rich apples and mineral. The palate has good richness and concentration but the acids are starting to crack and the wine shows ever-so-slightly flat. Flavors are also more evolved with some sweet marshmallow in addition the mint and maturing white fruit.

Ramonet Dinner (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Served in Ramonet BBM flight. Slightly floral with some mint and anise elements. Apple and citrus, starting to show a nice mature element. Very good balance and textures, at a very good place today.

Another good 01 Ramonet..He did so well in 01. Not a hint of pox. Beautifully complex notes of honeysuckle, honey and mint. Great depth and balance…and so long on the finish…yeah, I'd have to give this the edge of the 01 Pernot BBM…

La Paulee 2.0 S.F.: Another super tasting 01 Ramonet! Spearmint came out later on as the wine warmed...fresh lemon/lime crystal clear fruit...lite flint strike, crunchy minerals....clean, pure, totally unique mint note Ramonet...but more faint than Chevy or Batard....Would have loved to drink this whole bottle...but alas I was only spitting. ;-(

depressed cork; deep gold in yellow; slightly oxidized and quite ripe already; nuts, cream, spices and baked fruits; one-dimension palate; a very so-so bottle in its context

This bottle - my last - was back on form after a somewhat advanced bottle last year. Great richness and fruit, mouthfilling without being at all heavy. Good acidity left in this one. Really fabulous wine. My discrete CT scale: 95-extraordinary; 90-very good; 85-good; 80-fair; 75-poor

Very deep golden color when decanted is an uh-oh. I sense this is not going to be the stunner that last year's bottle was. The good news is that there is no overt premox or sherrying. Aromas and flavors of baked apples and pears, good richness with enough acidity left to provide balance. Overall a good experience, but.... My discrete CT scale: 95-extraordinary; 90-very good; 85-good; 80-fair; 75-poor

ripe and a little oxidized, and ripe on the palate. Citrus rind notes with a little bitter finish, and a little alcoholic. I love Ramonets but I was slightly disappointed in this bottle that I brought.

Wow! This was yellow-gold in color with a beautiful if slightly reticent nose. Ethereal on the palate, some apple notes along with Ramonet mintiness. On day 2, this picked up palate intensity, gaining fruit without losing its elegance. Really special. My discrete CT scale: 95-extraordinary; 90-very good; 85-good; 80-fair; 75-poor

1st of a 6 pack recently acquired. Huge relief when it was poured and wasn't shot! Still, was clearly ready for drinking and I won't delay with the rest of the case. Deep, golden colour, rich, poised, regal on the palate and drank beautifully.

Blind White Dinner: Top Producers' Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet (Acadia - Chicago IL): Tasted single blind. Slightly more advanced than I'd prefer, but rich and almost meaty with sweet spice. Very dense. Others didn't like this quite as much tonight, but they are oh-so-superficial.

Cellared since original release. Very much as Johnh1001 says -- lean with plenty of mint and citrus, but fresh and nervy.

Leaner than other vintages. Quite a bit of mint along with citrus nose. Not as rich or detailed but excellent.
