Along side 04/08 Leflaive Pucelles....this 01 showing a little more age than the Leflaives.....rich honeyed, pit fruit, match strike...but still pretty good citrus and crushed mineral.

Trio of Pucelles(01 J. Boillot, 08 Leflaive)...Super bottle...big sulfur funk up front...match smoke, chalk, dried honey spice, white flowers...plenty of crushed minerals and fresh citrus to handle the rich fruit and funk! Loved this!

Coupled with the 04, and a 01 Jean Boillot...the 08 was really fresh and clean...not much match stick, more sea breeze, very chalky with minerals, bright lemon acid...refreshingly tasty...but should age well too.

Loaded with minerals....golden sea water...ripe yellow fruit, rich spice, honey, fresh yet substantial....would have loved to nurse on this awhile.

Little ox on this one...slight sherry, nuts....did have some nice pit fruit, crushed stone, squeeze of lime, mellow feel. Just ok.

Soft, little doughy, delicate lemon, white peach fruit, salted caramel...didn't do much for me.

Beautiful nose....pretty dried flower spice, earth tones...little acidic, tart skin on the palate...but might have been just me.

Another super tasting 01 Ramonet! Spearmint came out later on as the wine warmed...fresh lemon/lime crystal clear fruit...lite flint strike, crunchy minerals....clean, pure, totally unique mint note Ramonet...but more faint than Chevy or Batard....Would have loved to drink this whole bottle...but alas I was only spitting. ;-(

Delicate red berry fruit...tea leaves, dried flowers, tart freshness....would have liked to have spent more time on this.

This is where my weekend came to an end...I have this wine written down in my note book...but no notes. Due to a long night prior....I was pretty much done. Too bad because I love Bertheau. From what I remember...classic Bertheau rustic and pretty......Jon, I tried drinking this one...spat everything else this day! 91 looks to be drinking just fine here.

Little more advanced than a very youthful bottle we had a couple weeks ago...more doughy yeast, salted caramels...but still pretty killer with crisp lemon citrus, flowers, creamy mousse, crushed minerals. Love it!

Off the list at RN74...what a treat! Pnp...could have used some air...first thing I wrote was "dusty old wine cellar". Aged delicate bright strawberry, watermelon, tart raspberry fruit....tilled strawberry field, dusty spice, wet leaves...some sous bois, leather. Still quite alive...but really hanging by a thread.
