The wine was medium ruby in colour and had a nice nose of red fruit, raspberry, kirsch, herbal notes, marzipan and mild spice. On the palate, the medium-bodied wine showed red and dark fruit, kirsch, garrigue, spices, black pepper and liquorice, with medium-level acidity, well-integrated tannin and good length. The medium-bodied wine had good concentration, in particular in the context of its classification, and drank well over a period of three days. Very good value! Drink now.

The wine was medium ruby in colour, leaning towards garnet. It offered red fruit and raspberry aromas as well as an intriguing combination of mild herbal notes, mild spice and mild liquorice on the nose. On the palate the wine showed red fruit, raspberry, kirsch, herbal notes, spice, black pepper and liquorice, with medium-level acidity, well-integrated tannin and good length. The medium-bodied, smooth and reasonable balanced wine had good varietal character. Grenache-driven, the Shiraz and Mourvèdre shone through. I preferred this 2005 to the 2010 I had a few days ago. A very good CdR. Amazing value! In a great place. Drink now.

First taste, not so much - had a plan, drank a nice Gigondas first. Drank after it was open and breathing for 2 hrs. Really opened up - nice fruit and decent depth. Overpaid for this but not too dismayed.

From memory - not a lot going on here, simple, and quite plainly - wine-like. Peaked at 45 mins in air - fruit came forward and turned into a passable bottle, but nothing interesting to make it one to seek out again.
day II Edit: This is an amazing transformation. Day II this has an intriguing nose of smoked meats, dirt, forest floor, red fruits. The palate is still pretty insipid, though. Sour cherry and cranberry, tart acidity and bitter tannins.

As before: good but fairly uninteresting. I guess not bad for $10-12, but hardly exciting.
Put under gas and kept a cellar temperature overnight. A bit better the 2nd night with greater complexity. Score increased from 82 to 84, based on these observations.

Nose of leather and buttered popcorn. Soft blackberry and tobacco. Significant tannins are well integrated. Short finish but for the tannins. Very good.

Nice value. A simple CdR with baked cherry and herbs on the nose and palate, light to medium-bodied with a relatively short finish. A decent mid-week quaffer at the $9.99 I paid. Drink now and over the short term.

Good inexpensive CDR. Reminds me of the first red wines I drank that I liked (also cheap CDRs!). Cherry, a little bit of fennel and of vanilla. My household managed to drink a case of it in fairly short order!

Very good CDR. My wife like this a lot. Reticent at first, tight, could use more time. Opened some with the decant. Later nose had nice notes of meat with asian spice. Unlike previous note, no sediment at all - go figure. Anyway, quite nice, would recommend, decant for three hours if opening now though.

Nose: Sweet notes, cherry, laffy-taffy, herb and earth notes. Sour cherry, raspberry, spice, medium tannins, lots of razor sharp acidity. Purchased for $10- very good value. foodandwineblog.com

Nose: Blueberry and cherries, a little bit of vegetation and a hint of vanilla on the tail end Taste: Bright cherry fruit flavor up front, with sharp acidity transitioning into a smooth chocolate and vanilla finish

cherries, raspberries and some dirt on the nose, which translates to the palate. The finish kicks in with some pleasant mouth drying tannins. The finish is short, but otherwise a pleasant quaff.

Enjoyed this Cotes du Rhone a lot. Went great with a spicy red pizza sauce. The color was surprising to me -- a dark purple. Nose was of strawberry jam and the flavor profile matched the nose, but not 'jammy'. I look forward to trying this again in six months or sooner if I can get some more.

Simple, but pleasant nose. Red fruit (cherry, strawberry). Medium tannins, with nice, long finish. Simple structure. Some herbaceous quality in the middle. Great everyday wine.

Very tight at first. Didn't show anything until the next day. Sports a core of black cherry, licorice, pepper, and twiggy underbrush. Finishes very dry with excellent grip. Can't ask much more from a $10 bottle of CdR. Paired excellently with grilled lamb chops marinated in garlic and herbs.

Medium dark cherry color. Lots of bing cherry, some tannin, hot alcohol. Quite average.

Very light and fruity. The flavor really not very well rounded. Surprisingly shallow for a wine that is supposedly ready for consumption.

Wildly boring. Just not a lot there. Simple, little fruit, firm tannins and sufficient structure, but just ho hum.

Good. Simple cherry on the most. Smooth finish with more red fruit. Not complex, but a good value
