So freaking delicious! Corton-Charlemagne, Batard, and Montrachet are all stunning wines from this estate. Each time I have the opportunity of tasting these wines, I am reminded how much I love great White Burgundy. Yum!

Clear yellow color with a green hue. The nose is explosive, with ripe lemon, yellow apple, light tropical fruit. Yet it is sharp and mineral on the palate, with a finish that keeps going. Great wine.

White Burgundy tasting @ K&L (K&L Wine Merchant - San Francisco): Aromas of ripe but awesomely balanced fruit flavors and a nice spiced note, it’s strong spice but very well balanced, and wet river pebbles. Nice richness but somehow manages to stay light and swift.
Drier fruit profile on the palate but leans more toward the minerals and prickly bitterness, and subtle dried stems. Dried, sun basked earth and dried crushed stones.
This was a bit disappointing for the price tag. Even with some time, this didn't improve much.
Pop and pour. Extremely long diam cork. Serious tension. Lots of chalk. For a 2018 it’s well balanced without the heat overly showing. This got better as it got warmer, albeit I preferred this a couple of degrees below room temperature. With time, white chocolate and caramel dominate the nose. This is a great wine that punches well above its relative price point.

An embarrassment of riches (Noizé and 67PM): Blind. Similar colour and style to its sibling.initially a little more cut and maybe a bit more mid palate grip as it opens. Broader with air. Eventually not quite the line and shape. ****

Magnificent fragrance intensity with this hazy feminine aromas based on fresh yellow fruits, citrus flesh, a fine layer of salt and butter. Good delicate, full-bodied and pronounced wine with the feminine aromas that sits above and gives joy to fresh pulp, butter, bitter fruit peel notes and well-integrated barrel tones. Stylish and fresh finish. Very good wine. 93 points.

2018 Bouchard Tasting (Off-Premise, Chicago, IL): Nose: This was a clear step up and showed off a broader style with red apples, quince, meyer lemons, waxy notes, peaches, yellow flowers, and a touch of saline. There is good depth, but this does seem a bit tightly coiled at the moment.
Taste: The feel is full bodied with crisp, medium+ acidity. The acidity does add some tension and the feel is well balanced with red apples, quince, wax notes, meyer lemons, peaches, and saline.
Overall: This was very good, but also in need of some aging or decanting. I could see it benefiting from 5+ years of aging and can see this getting much better than it was showing today.

Bouchard 2018 Tasting (Chicago, IL): Walk around tasting. So much apple and pear with hints of beeswax and floral notes, ending with a touch of fresh peach. Still a bit of pronounced new oak, so this needs some time, but easily has the structure to keep everything together despite 2018 ripeness.

La Fête du Champagne Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty - New York NY): Walkaround tasting with the producers. Big and brawny with lots of energy to go along with large scaled orchard fruit. This goes on and on to long finish. Needs time.

Waterford Wine Co. Burgundy Festival (Waterford Wine Co. - Milwaukee WI): Walk around tasting. Big and dense, this seems slightly awkward and angular right now, but with so much great, and really great potential, 2024 forward.

Tasted at La Paulee Los Angeles. So young, fruit was expectedly muted. Minerality was overt. This one has lots of potential but likely needs 7+ years.

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): Walk around tasting. Rich and powerful with the stuffing to restrain the inherent ripeness. This is a big boy that can be fun now, or cellar for a decade+. Very long finish.

Tangy, almost pineapple.
Needed to open to smooth out

Bouchard 2018 Tasting (Waterford Wine Co. - Milwaukee WI): Stand up tasting. Rich orchard fruit with obvious Grand Cru density. Powerful and well balanced despite its ripeness. Very tasty already with upside.
