Medium, bright ruby red in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & cranberries with overtones of spices notes of cloves & some floral notes, earthy/dusty, minerals, mushrooms, some cola notes, herbs & a slight hint of oak/vanilla undertones in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of red cherries, strawberries & cranberries with spices, mushrooms, minerals, some herbs & a touch of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present & at 6 years of age, it should still develop slightly further with an additional aging.

Double decanted for 1 hour. We were surprised at how much we liked this and wished we had more of this wine. It has aged amazingly well for what is in effect the entry level into DDO's Pinots. Smooth tannings. Plenty of cherry and vanilla with something savoury going on too. On one hand, I wish that I had kept more of this around or some of the older vintages but on the other hand. This wine delivered was great tonight. We had it with Bengalis Mustard fish and some Indian spinach with fennel and ginger. Really good match. Probably good for another 3 years (2027)

Mid ruby with aromas of strawberry, raspberry, spice, vanilla & cedar. Decent body, strong acidity, fine tannins, on the palate more spice, vanilla, cedar, redcurrant, strawberry, raspberry & red cherry. Decent length. Drinking but plenty of time. Balance is very oak dominated which makes it feel rather atypical. Not to my taste but still well made, time may soften the wood further.

Ruby color. Nose of red berry, violets, stony earth, cinnamon. Layers of vivacious red berry, iodine, earth, cherry, and hints of iron in the satin textured palate. Lively acidity and fine grained tannin. Long finish of red fruit and sweet iron. Lovely. Half bottle consumed in Ely, NV.

Light Ruby in complexion, this remarkable Pinot opens with oak and vanilla leading to cherry and raspberry and pine. Palate is silky with definite balance, medium low acidity, light body yet has a certain weight to it. Perfect structure and well polished tannins lead to a memorable finish.

A warm and concentrated nose of black cherry, kirsch, cola, raspberry and blood orange, with plenty of complexity, showing forest floor, wet earth, brambles, cinnamon and a layer of vanilla. Intense and easily mistaken for something other than pinot noir! There’s a ripe core of dark fruit liqueur, thick but smooth, almost balsamic mouthfeel, ripe tannins with deceptive grip and a slightly astringent orange peel finish. Very young, but this feels too warm and extracted.

Very plummy, dark, intense, soy sauce and balsamic, the alcohol seems quite high and volatile, 14.1%. Is it bottle variation? Cooked bottle? A little disappointed compared with other vintages tried in the winery. Have another bottle and will see how that one goes. Opened another bottle. Luckily, the other one is in good condition. Drinking really well now.

Decanted for an hour and served with cedar plank Copper River salmon. For those not initiated, Oregon pinot pairs gloriously with salmon, particularly wild pacific salmon. This is no exception. Lovely nose, with delicate floral, herbal, and spice notes, including a cedar scent that echoes the cedar smoke on the fish. Medium bodied with nice acidity. Palate is a balance of strawberry/pomegranate fruit with more herbs and spices. Finishes reasonably long, with just a bit of dryness. Yummy.

Tasting of wines of Oregon, Washington State and Finger Lakes, hosted by Tim Syrad Wines, UK. This is bright cherry in colour. Ripe cherries, vanilla and complexity on the nose. The palate is young and ripe, with forward fruit, violets, cherries and floral. There is caramel on the finish. My wife likes young pinot so it was great for her now, whereas I like more maturity and earthiness, so I'd give it another 2 to 3 years. Your choice! Good wine overall.

This wine pours light ruby in the glass with a pink/purple rim. The nose shows violet, lavender, plum, dark cherry, dusty dry soil, dried orange peel, peonies, a whisp of cardamom spice, and a vague touch of cinnamon oak spice. The palate is very nice entering on the very pure plum and concord grape notes, turning to bright orange peel tinged medium plus acid with medium minus tannin. The finish turns a tad pithy and bitter with the pungent purple fruit and floral notes of the nose being replayed. There is definitely some of the 14.1% alcohol poking out here on the nose, bus especially the palate which does hold this back a little in my books. All in all this is quite a nice bottle and I could see it fitting in with a line-up of similarly priced burgundy from a warmer year. I could see this aging quite well and improving considerably.

Bought this a couple days ago at Costco. Somewhat surprised to see the moderate scores of tasters here; I hoped for better. Good color, and nice black cherry fruit in the nose. Blacker fruits in the mouth than a typical Cali; maybe not quite so good as I hoped, and a bit bland. Still, at least good. Somewhat short finish. 4-13-15-7: 89/100. Hiroko rates it 92/100.

Enjoyed more than I remember the 17, same basic flavor profile of red fruit, acid, subdued tannins, but felt like it had more mid palate complexity. Could just be younger and not as shut down. Drank A/B against Bergstrom Cumberland, both are nice but preference for Drouhin profile of acid/fruit over savory/spice notes from Bergstrom.

Complex and expressive on the nose, there are aromas of flower petals, candied dark cherry and plum, interwoven with savory notes, sandalwood and a touch of oak. The first taste presents dark fruit flavors and cherry, with pink peppercorn, rhubarb and five-spices. Ripe, well-integrated tannins are balanced by the graceful structure. While the wine is very pretty and approachable now, it has the charm and persistence to suggest it will effortlessly age over the next 10 years and more.
