Golden in color with honeyed citrus, peach, floral, and petrol notes on the nose and palate. Long finish with mouth-watering acidity that balances the sweetness. Absolutely fantastic aged riesling. Tasted blind during a blind tasting party--I should add that it did not go over well at all with others at the party that had not had aged riesling before and were accustomed to drinking new world wines. It was definitely a wine that people either liked a lot or didn't like at all.
A nice golden yellow color. Slate, wet stones, apples, honey, orange zest, petrol, limes, and a floral note on the very nice and appealing nose. Medium body with nice sweetness and citrusy acidity. Absolutely delicious and in perfect balance. I'm glad I held onto a bottle from my Garagiste stash. My last bottle of this wine, but I still have a few of the others.

Perfectly integrated. Clean lime on a very even palate. Hints of petrol aromas. Very even from fruit to acid. Not very complex but drinking very well. Terrific.

I had a bottle of this 2 or 3 years ago that was disappointing. But this one was good. Light golden colour. Rich fruit flavours of fermented apple, lime with hints of pear. Mellow. Could use just a bit more acidity. But a nice wine. (Good with lunch).

Dark golden color with a hint of green – a bit odd. Strange nose of butter popcorn and apple – a bit of classic Riesling petrol. Seriously on the decline – almost no flavor – just acid backup. Week and tired. Not the best from Garagist……not even close to the other notes.....hopefully a bad bottle (67)

Delicious; 15 years old and tastes like yesterday -- good riesling nose, quite fresh, could use more structure but a delight on a warm summer afternoon

This was made available sometime this past year by one of the online sellers. Nice rich medium golden color; enchanting nose of flowers, minerality, citrus peel, apple and sea air. Great balance of sweet vs savory, nectary texture with very appealing pure riesling flavors with hints of tropical fruits and the slight nuttiness of aging. Right in the groove for perfect current drinking. A great wine to enjoy through New Year's Day at only 10.5% ETOH

Even though the colour looks suspiciously like a urine sample, deep gold with a watery rim, this was fantastic. Intense on the nose, orange, apple and notes of cloves. Really well balanced and delicous on the palate, burnt orange, apple fruit with a piercing minerally length to it. Delicious wine and a bargain for $24.

Truly outstanding. Creamy, tangy, minerally, earthy, with just a little fuel and plenty of apples, green grapes, and clover honey. There are several phases from initial taste through the mid-palate, with nice length, too, although it settles on a single nutty apple note. The best of the 3 Garagiste aged Rieslings I've opened thus far, $25 was an insane bargain.

Smoky, soily, and minerally, with terrific drive on the palate. This is the most expensive Schonborn Spatlese from '94, and it does show a lot of breed.

Had during dinner with another couple - didn't take notes but everyone at the table loved this wine. For an aged wine it tasted bright and fresh. There was plenty of fruit and nice acidity. The petrol element was present but very toned down.

Fairly dark yellow color. Ripe lemon zest and quince marmalade on the nose with slight petrol and minerality. Sweet tart citrus palate of lemons and tangerines with the slight bitterness of the skin on the finish. Showing more power than subtlety but with a sweet tart juicy acidity that is just right. Not a lot of complexity or elegance here but a terrific aged Riesling for $24 and a great companion to a light meal. Very bummed I didn't buy more!

Bright golden yellow color. Fantastic nose with petrol, wet stones, slate, apples, orange zest, and a bit of a floral note. Rich on the palate with soft sweetness and an oily texture. Flavors include orange, minerals, honey, apples and a petrol quality. Lingering finish that leaves your mouth watering with the orange zest, minerals and a bit of petrol lasting for over a minute.
Absolutely no hurry drinking the remaining 3 bottles.
This was the first Garagiste riesling I've opened, if the rest are anywhere near this in quality, I'll feel like I stole them for the low prices.

Fully mature. Syrupy golden raisin up front, and a lemon-orange gelato finish. Delectable—I had to buy more.

Good nose with stone fruits and smoke, also some candied high notes. Surprisingly primary on the palate with bracing acidity.

Quite a bit more fruit than the Rudesheimer Berg Rottland as well as more complexity. Less petrol. A hell of a value.
