Wow, my first experience that American Syrah can be in this northern Rhone style! Intense on the nose, lovely mouthfeel and long finish. Would have guessed cote rotie or hermitage. Drinks perfect now. Have now experience with American Syrah and age.

Darker and zippier than almost all other K Vintners syrahs, even earlier vintages of the Deal. Pepper and black currant, not my thing. Maybe it is the acidicity, but I think there's something more to it. Not my favorite, but well done. Probably my least favorite K Vintners syrah ever and I have tried dozens and then dozens. Come think if it, this is almost like the raisin wine Amarone. Not a compliment.

This is fine. Many elements of a good Syrah are here, but they aren't knit together or in balance. PnP'ed, it's dominated by soft textures and lactic flavors on opening, then as it gets air, the finish collects tannin and becomes rough. Curious, but not my favorite of the K wines I've had.

Day 1: Rocking right out of the bottle and showing roasted meats, dark berries, spice, black pepper and earth. Concentrated wine and medium plus finish. Very enjoyable. 93 points Day 2: A bit hot and not nearly as good as day 1. Spice, heat, pepper, dark fruits and saw dust. A true disappointment on day 2. 82 points Day 3: A little better but never got to the level of the pop and pour. Recommendation: Drink now and don't wait on these.

Walla Walla Tasting - K Vintners: The aromas are ominous but still draw you into the glass, with notes of blackberry, dark plum, black raspberry, licorice, ash & whiffs of dried orange peel & smoked meat.
The palate is deep & rich, packing a powerful punch with an extended finish following, with Amaro-like bitters.
The tannins bring a fair amount of astringency at present, so I feel this one will need more bottle time.

Aromas of raspberry, smoke, sassafras, sweet tobacco, green peppercorn and graphite. Plum and red fruit on the palate, medium-full bodied, with sinewy tannins. Potential, but it's all a bit awkward and disjointed at the moment.

Day 1: No review. Day 2: This is not even close to the experience this past summer, but I also had a 94-point Kevin White and 96 Reynvaan early in the week. A bit tight featuring black pepper, earth, mild spices and blue currants. Medium finish. Nothing wrong with the wine but just lacks complexity. 90 points Day 3: Why you never give up on a wine. This offers green olives, white pepper, earth, blue currants, dust, spice and tar. Medium plus and concentrated. Amazing the evolution of wine over time and again why I doubt the accuracy of wine critics when they do their pop and pours. This tasted nothing like this on day 1 hence the no score. 93 points Recommendation: Hold until 2025 or later.
3 Syrah's $30 or Under Blind: Day 1: Wine 1 in a blind tasting of 3 Syrahs in that $25ish price point. This wine showed nothing out of the gate and this will be the review I give for this wine but will update on day 2. Raspberry, mild earth, spice and very simple in nature. Yes, I will revisit this wine on day 2 and even later on with air improved but for this pop and pour event only. 88 points Day 2: Again, why I do the day 2 and 3 thing. Much more open for business and K like. Roasted meats, pepper, dark berries, earth, minerals and black olives. This is a tremendous effort for a $26 bottle but would never guessed this on a pop and pour. 92 points Day 3: This is singing! Another day 3 success. Tastes like a baby Cayuse En Chamberlin and that is not an exaggeration. Black olives, tar, funk, minerals, white pepper, roasted meats and earth. LONG finish and complexity off the charts. Buy! 94 points Recommendation: This might be the value of the year. The most polarizing transformation of the year.

This a very nice syrah. Like others have commented, it's not a heavy, thick syrah. Very much medium body but full of fruit and spice. For the $30 price point this is outstanding.
Poured through vintouri and decanted - this does need air. Give it about 30+ minutes

Very enjoyable and unique Syrah. Color is deep, body medium and nose is complex, with elements of dark fruit, subtle rubber and powdery perfume. Taste starts with some sweetness and transitions to more acid and tannin on the finish.

P&P. At first this came across as well made if perhaps a tad thin in the mid palate. But after an hr or so this fleshed out nicely. Perfectly ripe blackberry that crackles with a little snap that avoids coming across as too ripe or sweet. Well-judged vanilla tones and a little spice on the finish. A decant would have helped here , but no matter, it lives up to its name sake for $26

Maybe I opened this too young, or perhaps I just had a bad bottle or two. But I bought a pair from Wine.com. I liked the bright red and blue fruit at the tip of my tongue, but it quickly turned into a burnt rubber taste that overpowered my palate.
Having the wine open for awhile helped decrease the overwhelming nature of it, but the burnt rubber sense never really went away. I usually like Rocks District Syrah which can have some funkiness to it, but I find that to be far more pleasant than what I got from this wine.
Color of dark red. Scents of dark black and red berries. Tastes are consistent with scents, with only a very little bit of the funk which I have found to be more prominent and more interesting in other bottlings such from Reynvaan.

Dark reddish-purple garnet in color. Full, forward, & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blueberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty notes, spices, some cocoa, pepper, herbs, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums with spices, herbs & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well with decanting & extended airing but should benefit from additional aging at which time it may merit a higher score (92+).

3h air for this 100% Syrah from the Wahluke Slope in Washington. Pale ruby color. Shy, minerally aromas of roasted plum, grilled meat, graphite, and clay pot. Big, young and a little hot (15% ABV). More impressive on the palate than on the nose, but needs some time to evolve, harmonize and (hopefully) gain some complexity and depth. Black fruit jam and anise on the palate, with some vanilla and spice in the finish. Muscular tannins, full-body, creamy texture.

Double Decant. Raspberry, Blackberry and blackcurrant. Plum. Baking spice. Lots of meaty notes. Very complex. Slight green streak. Could use a year or two of bottle age. This drinks almost like the $70 k syrahs at half the price. Delicious and dependable. This is an annual case buy for me though I started with a half case.

Good, but not as good as our first bottle which was well over a year ago. Lacked the depth and full body fruitfulness as the prior bottle.
