  • Tannicbeast summarizes nicely. A year later it's drinking quite nicely. A very extracted style, with modest acidity at this point. Great on it's own, no food required. It seems to be reaching it's peak and would recommend drinking now, vs waiting.

  • 100% organic Cab. Sauv. from 1200' vineyard. Deep ruby. Med+ to pronounced black cherry, blackberry, black plum, dark chocolate, cocoa, earth and sweet baking spices from 16 months in French oak, 45% new. Dry, but very fruit-forward and generous, despite the altitude. Med acidity, med, polished tannins and high alcohol (14.8%). Full bodied, w/ med+ to pronounced flavor intensity, a smooth, creamy mouthfeel and a lingering finish. Drinking well at 5 years. Ageworthy.

  • 100% agreed with first two reviews, well priced for Howell Mtn juice, nice young wine. Will age beautifully, hope to find more.

  • Have to agree with both @VINNUT and @REDULES. This is a young mountain cab from Napa that I got for the very reasonable price of $30. It does have a wonderful fruit forward nose and we did get the Howell Mtn dustiness with some cocoa. It was definitely better the second night which suggest that it should continue to improve - maybe even dramatically - in the next 3 to 5 years.

  • Deep, dark reddish-purple in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe dark fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty notes, herbs, coffee/cocoa, spices, minerals a hint of smokiness with oak/vanilla notes in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of smooth textured & well balanced, ripe dark fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & plums with cocoa, spices, earthy, herbs, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but should develop further with additional aging at which time it may rate a higher score (92+). Excellent QPR when found at discount.

  • Really nice QPR. It drinks better the 2nd day. Full mouthfull of Howell Mountain fruit. Dark plum based palate upfront. Complexity lacking at this early stage, but 2nd day showing says there's more to come.
